As you know, Friday marked the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton. It was a moment watched and cherished by two billion people worldwide.

The family has released three official Royal Wedding portraits, each taken by Hugo Burnand at Buckingham Palace, to commemorate the joyous event.

Having married Prince William earlier Friday in the wedding of the millennium, Kate Middleton changed into a stunning evening gown for the royal reception.

Like Kate Middleton's wedding dress, this gown looked nothing short of perfect for a duchess, and was custom designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.

Burton said of her design experience: "Alexander McQueen's designs are all about bringing contrasts together to create startling and beautiful clothes."

We'd say that worked pretty well in this case, wouldn't you?

Sarah Burton added that in recent weeks, she and her team "worked closely with Catherine to create this dress under conditions of strictest secrecy."

The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton proved to be every bit as majestic, heartwarming and special as anticipated Friday morning.

Below, THG has compiled photos and video highlights from the adorable couple's nuptials and the events that followed this once-in-a-generation event.

Even after the vows were exchanged and the wedding dress was revealed, there was one magical moment royal watchers looked forward to the most:

Royal Wedding Kiss and Highlights

At 1:25 p.m. London time, the fairy tale moment unfolded. A crowd of thousands swarmed the landmark to catch a glimpse of the kiss in person.

After waving to the crowd, with beaming smiles, the pair shared and an embrace and a demure kiss while surrounded on all sides by their family.

With cheers raining down, Will and Kate went in for a second, longer kiss. Aww.

Prince William and Kate Middleton became husband and wife - and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - at London's Westminster Abbey this morning.

The royal wedding, pegged the greatest and grandest affair since Prince Charles and Princess Diana's 1981 nuptials, marked a magical chapter in their fairy tale love story, which began at college and will continue throughout their lifetime.

Here's a look at Kate Middleton's wedding dress ...

The couple wed in a traditional ceremony Friday.

"I, William Arthur Philip Louis, take thee, Catherine Elizabeth, to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse," he vowed. "For richer, for poorer. In sickness and in health. To love and to cherish, till death us do part."

With brother and best man Prince Harry, in the uniform of Captain of the Household Cavalry, by his side, William wearing the scarlet uniform of the Colonel of the Irish Guards, slipped a traditional Welsh gold wedding band on Kate's finger.

"With this ring, I thee wed," he said.

Kate Middleton made her historic wedding day entrance this morning in style.

Arriving via car with her father Michael Middleton, the royal bride stepped out and at long last debuted her beautiful wedding dress: An Alexander McQueen gown custom-designed by Sarah Burton, the label's creative director.

The stunning gown features a long veil, with lace covering up Middleton's bare arms and shoulders. Prince William's bride reportedly did her own makeup. Her hair? Half up, half down, with a white veil and white ring atop her head.

Clad in matching white shirts and posing for a classy black and white portrait for their wedding program, Prince William and Kate Middleton look simply wonderful.

On the eve of the historic April 29 Royal Wedding, famed photographer Mario Testino captured this image of the newlyweds-to-be for the wedding program.

Don't they just look like the most adorable couple?

ROYALLY CUTE: Seriously, how sweet are they? It's not like there are any non-cute Prince William and Kate Middleton pictures, but this one might take the cake.

"I am very happy to have been asked to cover this historic moment that the world was waiting for. They are in their prime, brimming with happiness," Testino said.

"I have never felt so much joy as when I see them together."

Tomorrow morning, two billion people will share that joy.

Just two days to go until the wedding of the year. Nay, the century.

The celebrity gossip tabloids, like the rest of us, are riveted by the impending nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton, who will tie the knot Friday a.m.

The historical day will be dissected in great detail starting with the ceremony itself. Last week, Kate admitted she's a bundle of nerves just thinking about it.

When they enter Westminster Abbey, however, William and Kate's clear heads and full hearts will help calm those fears - and block out the massive spectacle.

William's brother and best man, Harry, admitted that their mother would be on the boys' minds on April 29, as they stand in the location of her 1997 funeral.

"I hope she would be so very, very proud that the big day has come upon him," the 26-year-old Harry said this week. "We all thought it was never going to happen."

Everything's coming together for the Royal Wedding.

With just four days to go until the big day, Kate Middleton's bridal dress preparation is all wrapped up. The wedding gown has been completed.

"Kate will have no more fittings," a palace source says of the dress the world will see April 29. "The next time the dress goes on is Friday morning!"

Just who designed that historic dress remains the most closely guarded secret in all of England. Last Thursday, British fashion designer Sophie Cranston insisted that rumors are "not true" that she whipped up the frock herself.

Kate Middleton, who has shed some serious weight of late to fit into the dress, loves Cranston's label, and recently wore a Libelula coat.

Remaining contenders include Sarah Burton, the elegant, whimsical creative director of Alexander McQueen, the late Princess Diana's favorite Bruce Oldfield and boho-chic designer Alice Temperley, among other notable names.

The UK's Daily Mail even says Middleton designed the dress herself. The only thing we know for sure? Prince William's bride will look stunning.
