As Royal Baby Watch 2013 drags on into yet another week, palace insiders say that Kate Middleton's due date may have passed 2-3 days ago.

Kensington Palace has been "operating under the assumption that the Duchess of Cambridge is two to three days late at this point," reports say.

The revelation comes amid conflicting reports surrounding Kate's due date, and whether she is indeed late (perhaps by a week or even longer).

Initial reports claimed that the royal baby was expected to arrive on July 11 or 13, a time frame that - as we know - came and went with no fanfare.

But the U.K.'s The Telegraph says Kate Middleton was really due Friday, July 19, and that they were asked to be on standby as early as a month before.

And being on standby means staying in top shape.

Is the Royal Baby finally on the verge of its joyous arrival?

After about a week away in the comfort of her family's home in the English countryside, a pregnant Kate Middleton and Prince William are back in London.

She is due to give birth in the city's St. Mary's Hospital.

A Royal Couple

The duo departed Bucklebury with police escorts around 3 p.m. local time on Friday. It's unclear if a delivery is imminent, or if they just want to be closer.

As for the whereabouts of Kate Middleton, we have no clue.

Queen Elizabeth II can't wait to be a great-grandmother and meet her youngest heir(ess) ... if only the royal baby would show up one of these days.

Asked by one of her adoring subjects yesterday if she's hoping Kate Middleton gives birth to a boy or girl, Her Royal Highness said "I don't think I mind."

“I would very much like it to arrive,” she joked, visiting a group of children.

“I’m going on holiday soon!” the feisty 87-year-old added.

The Duchess of Cambridge is due any day now, just as HRH is set to take her annual summer vacation at her Balmoral estate in Scotland.

We're all on pins and needles waiting for Kate Middleton to give birth ... but if Queen Elizabeth II can't motivate that royal baby, clearly it's got its own timetable.

What do you think it will be?

Prince William wants to be present when Kate Middleton gives birth to their little prince(ss), and who can blame him. But bailing on guys' night out?

Backing out of plans with his mates, which he did last night, is "quite unexpected," adds a source, so it seems he might have some father's intuition.

Or we're just at a loss for what to write about at this point!

The Duke and the Duchess

He may be onto something. Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, let it slip Monday that she was "hopeful" that Kate will give birth "by the end of the week."

"We are all just waiting by the telephone," she said.

Kate's own mother, Carole Middleton, is okay to wait a little longer. She reportedly expects the baby to be a Leo, meaning a due date of July 23 at the earliest.

Royal Baby Watch '13 is in full swing, but with Kate Middleton's due date having come and gone, we were starting to wonder if it was even the real due date.

Well, it looks like earlier reports of July 11-13 may have been erroneous.

Kate Middleton in a Black Hat

Kate’s mom, Carole Middleton, has reportedly told friends that the baby will be a Leo, the fifth sign of the astrological zodiac ... which begins next week.

According to NBC, the grandmother-to-be allegedly told friends that the royal baby will be a Leo, meaning Kate would not give birth until at least July 23.

News of a later due date would make sense, given that the palace never officially announced the day the royal heir(ess) is scheduled to be born.

Looks like the Royal Baby Watch and the heat wave gripping much of the Northern Hemisphere are officially starting to make people insane.

Exhibit A: Spanish artist Kaya Mar dropped off a "tribute" to the mom-to-be at St. Mary's Hospital's Lindo Wing - RBW '13 Ground Zero - on Friday.

His painting features Kate Middleton making like the Mona Lisa, nursing the royal heir(ess) and extending one slender leg out from under her robe.

For whatever reason, one of Queen Elizabeth's corgis is also there.

Kate Middleton Mona Lisa

This may be the weirdest thing of all time, but at least it makes Kate Middleton's official royal portrait look ... a lot less awkward and a lot more royal, for sure.

Gotta be the heat. It's driven Kate out of the palace and into her parents' house because they have A/C, and now it's driven Kaya Mar out of his mind.

Expectant Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton recently moved into Nottingham Cottage, a quaint two-bedroom house on the grounds of London's Kensington Palace.

She left for her parents' house Friday, however, because it's just too hot.

The Middletons live in the village of Bucklebury, an hour or so outside of London ... and the cottage has no A/C. When you're nine months pregnant, not a small factor!

"It was just too warm in Nott Cott," an insider said, and with no signs of imminent labor, "She decided to spend the weekend with mum and dad."

"It's much more comfortable there."

Royal Baby Watch 2013 is in full effect as Kate Middleton's due date is upon us, but there's no imminently arriving regal heir(ess) just yet.

On the one hand, all the pomp and circumstance surrounding one 31-year-old about to give birth seems silly. On the other hand, why not celebrate it?

It's a rare celebrity gossip story that is 100 percent positive, as well as world history in the making, as Queen Elizabeth II will have a third living heir(ess).

For the first time, the rules of ascension have changed so that Prince William and Kate Middleton's first-born will inherit the throne, regardless of gender.

As for when the royal baby will arrive ... it's still anyone's guess.

As the Royal Baby Watch continues today, Prince William has apparently left Wales for London, where his wife Kate Middleton is due to give birth.

Earlier this week, Prince William was putting in extra time as a search-and-rescue pilot at RAF Valley in Anglesey before he takes paternity leave.

The standby helicopter ready to rush the 31-year-old heir to her side has now departed, however, fueling speculation that the big day may be upon us.

Local sources do not believe the newly-missing helicopter necessarily indicates that the soon-to-be mom is ready to give birth imminently, however.

With Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton awaiting the imminent arrival of their first child, the UK can't wait to see who is third in line to the throne.

The duo, known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge since the royal wedding of April 2011, announced they were expecting in December.

The very pregnant Kate Middleton is due July 11 or July 13, depending on what you read. It matters little at this stage. Either way, that's any day now!
