Will Kate Gosselin, likely the world's worst dancer, be kicked off Dancing with the Stars this week? Not if George Lopez has anything to say about it.

For hilarious reasons unknown, the comedian and talk show host has been campaigning to keep the mother of eight as a contestant on the show.

The 48-year-old Lopez Tonight host proclaimed of his campaign: “America has spoken and Kate Gosselin is still alive! My master plan is working!"

Lopez continued his plea to our nation: "I tweeted that everybody should vote for Kate and why. Do it for her kids. Do it for her poor partner Tony Dovolani and most importantly ... Do it for the United States of America!"

With a pitch like that, how can we say no?

George continued, “It’s your duty, America. Remember every vote counts and it’s time to keep Kate alive. You are the change we have been waiting for.”

One might say the only thing you're doing for the kids is depriving them ... although if it weren't for dancing, she'd just be hawking some book anyway.

As for whether fans will heed George's call, we'd say there's a decent chance. She's set the bar so low with her dancing, there's little room to get worse.

Even a mediocre effort will feel like a victory to supporters who have kept her around while she was flat-out abysmal. Lowering expectations ... genius.

Keep Kate

Will you keep Kate Gosselin? Or are you more inclined to vote for someone else this week? Who are you rooting for on Dancing with the Stars?

Tony Dovolani has Maksim Chmerkovskiy's respect ... and sympathy.

Why? Because the former is paired with Kate Gosselin on the current season of Dancing with the Stars, who outspoken Maks is quite unimpressed by.

Despite her recent breakthrough, Maksim expects more. A lot more.

The dancer explains: "I've spoken to Kate, and I don't think she gets the point of this thing yet. The pain on her face says it all, which is unfortunate."

"The show is about finding a way to come out, enjoy yourself and have fun," Maksim says. "We have been taught to respect our teachers, so as teachers, we expect to be respected by our students. Kate needs to trust [Tony] more."

"However lifeless that [her dancing] is, he has her ready."

A Dancing with the Stars insider reveals that Kate Gosselin's first choice for pro partner on the hit program was actually Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who ended up partnered (and possibly dating) ESPN reporter Erin Andrews.

"She wishes she had been partnered with Maks because he's a stronger personality [than Tony Dovolani], and Kate likes a man who takes charge."

Must explain why she married Jon Gosselin then ... wait, what?

The insider adds: "Kate would have lasted about five minutes with Maks." Her lack of focus and attitude just don't jibe. But he says she can fix that.

"This is a chance for her to focus on something other than personal drama. How many women with multiple kids sit back and reminisce about the days they could go and dance? How many people vicariously live through us?"

"Live in the moment. You need to enjoy it."

Kate Gosselin electrified the Dancing with the Stars crowd last night.

Okay, not really. She sucked and still got the lowest score. But she sucked a lot less than previous weeks, and that's building up her confidence.

Mother of 8

"Dancing is starting to feel natural; that's scary, right?" Kate told E! last night after her Dancing With the Stars "mini-breakthrough" of a tango.

Does Tony Dovolani agree about the bane of his existence his partner? Believe it or not, yes: "She crossed over to the dancing side," he said.

"It sounds like the dark side," she joked. No doubt Jon Gosselin would have a witty retort if he weren't chasing mediocre skirts somewhere.

It's not saying much, but last night was Kate's best effort yet.

"I was totally in the dance," Kate added. "This was the first week I had fun out there. I was with Tony the entire time. Who had time to be nervous? I was dancing!"

Will the fans keep her around for another week? If they did so the previous two, you'd have to think she stands a good chance this time. She sure hopes so, too.

"I am psyched, we're going to practice after this," she said following her interview earlier today. "I'm totally into this and using my time wisely," she promised.

Len has called her dancing "dreadful."

Bruno has called her the super bitch from hell.

Tony Dovolani just wants her gone at any cost.

America won't oblige, however, at least not yet. Kate Gosselin's controversial stint on Dancing with the Stars continues Monday. Will it be her last performance?

Maybe, maybe not. But Mark Ballas, who was inexplicably eliminated first this season with Shannen Doherty, thinks er need to cut the reality mom some slack.

Mark Ballas (left) is showing Kate Gosselin some love.

"She's really out of her element, thrown in the deep end," Ballas says. "I think she's doing a really good job, and I think people need to give her a break. I absolutely sympathize with her. She's never done this before. It's difficult."

This isn't to say he thinks Kate Gosselin is even remotely good, just that we should back off a little. Until she quits her non-stop whining, don't expect it.

As for who he likes to hoist the coveted disco ball come season's end, Mark is high on Jake Pavelka, Nicole Scherzinger, Evan Lysacek and Erin Andrews.

"I like Erin and Maks together," he said of Erin and partner / rumored beau Maksim Chmerkovskiy. "What they did with the blindfold was really creative."

Tony Dovolani puts on a good front.

You would never think, given the way he bucks her up and puts on that brave, smiling face in public that he's miserable with his Dancing with the Stars partner.

But he is.

Behind the scenes, the competitor "can't wait to get rid of Kate Gosselin, even if it means losing early," a show insider says, and it's hard to blame the guy.

Last week's clip of them bickering in rehearsal (Dovolani threatened to walk off after a Kate tirade) is "just the tip of the iceberg," multiple sources say.

"Not only is Kate THE worst dancer, but she's just nasty."

Beneath the smile lies a simmering rage.

According to one Dancing with the Stars insider, the "argumentative" monster mom snapped at her counterpart during a particularly frustrating practice at home.

"I'm the reason anyone knows your name," she said, "give me a break!"

Sounds absurd, but somehow we can picture it, can't you?

Kate Gosselin, hilariously, has even commanded that Dovolani enter through the basement door, rather than the front entrance, like hired help or some servant.

We can see that too. Bet she also did that to Jon Gosselin.

"She says it's quicker, but it's really just her way of showing him she's the boss," a Gosselin source says, adding that quite frankly, "They hate each other."

"Backstage, she will back him into a wall, and he won't listen or look at her. He doesn't want to be around her unless he has to," another source recounts.

We've said it before, and will say it again: Free Tony Dovolani!

We have two words for you, Dancing with the Stars fans.

Free Tony.

Kate Gosselin is so standoffish on the show, she has staff members contact her through her bodyguard and is driving partner Tony Dovolani up the wall.

"When the show needs to contact Kate, they go through Steve," a production source says, referring to none other than her rumored fling Steve Neild.

"She acts like a major celebrity. It's a joke with the cast."

Having also come under attack for being an absentee mom this week, the stress may be getting to Kate Gosselin, who in turn "tortures" poor Dovolani.

Gosselin, who's been called a "super bitch from hell" but survived another week on Dancing with the Stars, hasn't bothered getting to know any other contestants.

"When she is getting her hair done, she is on her BlackBerry the whole time... [she] is not making herself likable," an insider says of the infamous Type-A mom.

"If she tagged along, they wouldn't ask her to leave, but they wouldn't be overjoyed either. She's not much fun," another source adds. "She's in full diva mode."

Bearing the brunt of Kate's wrath? Tony Dovolani, the pro dancer unfortunately tasked with being her partner. He's already threatened to walk off the show once.

If only we could save him from the banshee. Unfortunately, people keep voting for Kate to stay on. It's like ABC is rigging the votes just to eff with the poor guy.

It stops now. Do not vote for Kate next week. Free Tony!

Jon Gosselin is not a fan of his ex-wife, or Dancing with the Stars. He's not just miffed about her horrible dancing either - dude wants custody of his kids.

Saying that Dancing with the Stars is damaging his children thanks to the super bitch from hell joining the cast, Jon wants them under his control, ASAP.

Plus money.

The douchebag will be seeking primary custody as well as spousal support in court, says Jon's new lawyer, former assistant U.S. Attorney Anthony F. List.

Unmoved by the fact that she had a makeshift dance studio installed at home, he calls Kate "an absentee mom," which he says is no surprise to anyone.

Right. Because Jon is a model citizen and parent, by contrast.

  • Jon G. Contemplates

The brief truce between Jon and Kate is apparently over.

List expects to use her casting on Dancing with the Stars (which she may be voted off tonight) as proof that Kate does not spend "quality time with the eight kids."

The attorney also thinks Jon is getting hosed in the child support department, claiming "$20,000 a month is ridiculous." Needless to say, he wants that changed.

In addition to primary custody, List says he's considering asking the judge to reverse the support obligation and make Kate pay Jon. That should go over well.

Team Jon did not specify any specific figures, but it looks like he's gearing up for a full assault. So much for the newly single Jon wishing Kate luck last month.

Is Kate really an absentee mom for going on the show, or is Jon just angling for more leverage? Is it actually good that she's on DWTS to support the kids financially?

Most importantly: Who sucks more?

Not our words, or Jon Gosselin's. That's how Kate was described by judge Bruno Tonioli on Dancing with the Stars. Sadly, that was as good as their critiques got.

While her Paso Doble set to "Paparazzi" by Lady Gaga wasn't a travesty on par with her previous two efforts, it was scored similarly. And badly. Kate can't cut it.

She can, however, take out her frustrations on a punching bag pretty well. The stoic mom wasn't acting there, but her attempt to play a character on the floor?

"That was odd," Carrie Ann Inaba opined. "It was very hard to watch."

Indeed. Here's Kate's segment on Monday's Dancing with the Stars:

The judges stopped just shy of overtly telling America not to vote for Kate Gosselin again this week, although Buzz Aldrin actually recevied slightly lower scores.

We'll see if she survives tonight. Another performer who set off fireworks before even taking the stage Monday? Jake Pavelka, for feuding with a certain blonde.

No, not airhead fiancee Vienna Girardi. Jake and partner Chelsie Hightower butted heads before doing the quickstep and racking up a not-shabby score of 21.

Kate Gosselin is going to wow us tonight.

With her dance moves, not her diva-like behavior. Or so says her partner, Tony Dovolani, who Tweets: "Paso Doble is going to be Kate's best dance :-)"

That's not saying much. However, Kate's much-maligned DWTS counterpart adds that "Kate is doing a great job. I'm looking forward to tomorrow :-)"

Gosselin began rehearsing at 6:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday for the dance. But that didn't stop the mother of eight from quality time with the family too.

"The kids woke up early to Easter baskets on the table at their assigned place. I already had been up dancing for an hour and came upstairs at precisely 7:30 a.m. to watch all their faces as they dove into their overflowing baskets!" she blogged.

The eight Gosselins then watched mom rehearse downstairs.

"After they filled their bellies with a mixture of chocolate and jelly beans, I returned to the basement to complete my routine once more, and then in standard fashion, we danced our routine for the kids, who clapped and screamed," Kate reports.

Will the audience respond with similar enthusiasm tonight? Or will they scream in horror at her dancing terribleness and whining? We'll have to wait and see.

Regardless, Kate says she'll be approaching it with a new attitude, writing on blog that her partner "deserves a medal" for helping console her frayed nerves.

Can a renewed spirit and a Jon and Kate-themed routine help her win over the judges and voters on Dancing with the Stars tonight? Tune in and find out!

Guess the producers of Dancing with the Stars decided enduring even one more Kate Gosselin tirade wasn't worth the effort, because she's been let go.

Finishing the job that voters somehow couldn't after her debacle of a performance Monday, the network brass told Kate to pack her bags earlier today.

The former star of Jon & Kate Plus 8, who was planning a dancing homage to that bygone classic, caused nothing but headaches since joining the cast.

Her partner, Tony Dovolani, apparently decided he had enough and threatened to quit unless he was transferred to another star. ABC did him one better.

This face is also made by fans watching Kate dance.

Jon Gosselin put up with her for 10 years. ABC? About a month. The decision was handed down Thursday morning, with a source saying Kate was "shocked."

Having become universally despised on the set (basically the Vienna Girardi of Dancing with the Stars), few tears were shed over Kate's sudden dismissal.

What was the final straw in Gosselin being kicked off?

She was pushing her luck from the moment she first set foot on the ballroom floor. Follow the jump and read exactly what got Kate kicked off this time ...
