Was this the song written for Taylor Swift?

At last night's MTV Video Awards, Kanye West introduced "Runaway" to the crowd, a single that started with the rapper going solo on a synthesizer before chanting: "You've been putting up with my s–– for way too long."

A week prior to the event, in an effort to apologize for last year's VMA catastrophe, West said he had penned a song for Swift. It's unclear if this was actually it, as subsequent lyrics included:

"Let's have a toast for the douchebags. Let's have a toast for the a------s. Let's have a toast for the scumbags. Let's have a toast for the jerkoffs. Baby, I got a plan. Runaway fast as you can."

Listen to Kanye's "Runaway" below and then compare it to Taylor's "Innocent," which also premiered at the ceremony and which was likely meant as a response to West. What an unexpected rivalry/friendship, huh?

Seriously, Kanye West is sorry.

The rapper has taken to Twitter to once again apologize for the mess he made at last year's MTV Video Music Awards, when he cut Taylor Swift off mid-speech and said Beyonce deserved an award over her.

"I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that's so beautiful and I want her to have it," Kanye Tweeted this week. "If she won't take it then I'll perform it for her. She had nothing to do with my issues with award shows. She had no idea what hit her."

Kanye the Ass

Should Taylor Swift forgive Kanye West? Sound off below!

Continued Kanye, who will perform at the September 12 MTV ceremony:

"She's just a lil girl with dreams like the rest of us. She deserves the apology more than anyone. I'm ready to get out of my own way. The ego is overdone. Who am I to run on stage? I would never ever again in a million years do that. Sorry to let you down…TAYLOR LOVES RAP MUSIC...I LOVE COUNTRY MUSIC...I'm sorry Taylor."

Good Friday is arguably the holiest day on the Christian calendar, as it precedes Easter Sunday and commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary.

Now, this is why we love Kanye West: the man is so hilariously egotistical that he hasn't merely Tweeted a plan to release a new single each week until Christmas - he's deemed the occasion "good Fridays." Perhaps we should just call him Jesus West from now on.

Wrote the rapper: I know yall need the music so I’m dropping 1 new song every weekend until Xmas. It may be my song it may be a new Jay song etc...

I’m calling it good Fridays. Yall know every Friday yall gone have a new joint from our family. We look at the game completely different now. It’s about the fans. No more holding back. That’s why I dropped see me now… It wasn’t about me it was about the Summer the BBQs etc.

Expect Kanye to remain in the news for awhile. He's scheduled to perform at next month's Video Music Awards and he'll likely collaborate with Justin Bieber in the near future.

That sound you hear is teenage girls screaming... and a few Christians groaning.

Shorty is a sensation.
- Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon on Justin Bieber

A few days after a couple Twitter exchanges between Justin Bieber and Kanye West sparked rumors that these two might collaborate on a single together, rapper/producer Raekwon confirmed the likelihood of this unexpected pairing.

Speaking to XXL magazine, Raekwon said "it’s definitely gonna happen," adding:

“When you got these kinda talents merging together to do something exciting, I think it’s something that’s gonna make the fans check it out. I’m big fans of both of these guys. I think, at the end of the day, shorty is a sensation... I respect him, I like his style.”

Easy there, Rae. You sound like Justin talking up Katy Perry and Cheryl Cole.

Will Justin Bieber and Kanye West make sweet music together?

Raekwon said he's actually spoken to Kanye West about the duet. At least that's who we assume he's referring to as "Yeezy."

“Yeezy called me and we gon’ make it pop. At the end of the day, we’re all doing our thing in the game and for them to even just have a conversation and just put my name in it it feels good... And we gon’ make a hit. Justin got his own fan base and Me and Yeezy got our own fan base and we gon’ make it happen."

Fo sizzle, yo.

Assuming this collaboration does go down, THG has a few title suggestions for the impending Bieber/West single:

  • The Junior High Dropout
  • I'ma Let You Finish Puberty
  • All A Twitter
  • Jesus Walks Away From This Trainwreck

Send in your proposed song titles for this duo today!

Justin Bieber is a wanted young man - and we aren't just referring to the singer's popularity among teenage girls!

The artist joined hip hop star Drake on stage this weekend in Indianapolis, rapping along to "Bet I Ever Had."

Said Drake to the sold-out crowd: "This kid is part of something special. You know we're both from Canada... so you know I can't forget ol' J. Beezy. That's my dawg."

As you might expect, those in attendance went crazy when this dawg was let out of his adorable cage. Check it out:

Elsewhere, the possible future Glee guest star is being recruited by an even bigger name in the industry: Kanye West.

In a series of recent Tweets, the rapper - who has come out with a new, controversial video for "Power" - wrote of his affection for a Bieber single and proposed a collaboration between the pair:

Yo this Runaway Love is the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on my 17th listen 2day!!! Every time I get to that song I got go in 4 times!! And I'm honored that you like my Music @JustinBieber!!! Maybe we can do something together.

What would you think of a Bieber/Kanye duet? Too good to be true? Or two artists too different to pull it off?

Kanye West will be returning to the scene of the crime, or at least the scene of one of the biggest jackass moves in award show history. Imma let you finish!

A year after infamously interrupting Taylor Swift's speech on stage, Kanye West is set to return to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, September 12.

It's Kanye!

The Grammy-winning rapper's fifth studio album is expected to drop this fall. He debuted a video "painting" for the first single, "Power," on MTV last week.

A follow-up single is also expected to be released by West in the next couple of weeks, and that's not nearly all from the talented, egomaniac artist.

Kanye Tweeted yesterday: "More music ... I'm bout to drop a bunch of sh!t this yea ... surprise performances ... guest verses ... living in the studio."

You've been warned, award winners.

Two of the biggest stars in the rap game have released new music videos this week.

First, Eminem teamed up with Rihanna to deliver "Love the Way You Lie," which features Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan.

Now, Kanye West has delivered his rebuttal, a religious-themed video in honor of his latest single, "Power." It puts the star (and his giant gold chain) front and center, with director/artist Marco Brambilla explaining the motivation as follows:

"I've always wanted to do something that would visualize power, to do a portrait of what power would look like in a sort of timeless way and being able to have him framed in that portrait, essentially doing a video portrait of Kanye as a symbol of power, was very consistent with my art practice and what I explore in my artwork."

Watch the video below and chime in with your thoughts on it:

Kanye West finally joined Twitter yesterday.

Upon hearing this, we had two thoughts:

  1. How was Kanye not on Twitter already?
  2. It's only a matter of time until Taylor Swift's account gets hijacked and Kanye's is proclaimed the greatest Twitter account of all time! OF ALL TIME!

Just kidding. Kanye's entry into the Twitter-verse began with this simple, boring declaration: "Up early in the morning taking meetings in Silicone Valley."

But then: "Lol I spelled Silicon wrong ( I guess I was still thinking about the other type of silicone ITS A PROCESS!! : )," Yup, he's definitely arrived.

New Twitterer

We expect at least 120 Tweets a day, Kanye.

The big surprise to those of us who follow West is that his Tweets are not in CAPS LOCK, the rapper's preferred method of communication on his blog.

Instead, he seems to prefer no capitalization or punctuation at all. Makes it a bit tough to read, but we'll take it over all caps. Much less threatening.

Kanye West may have joined Twitter later than many stars, but he can take comfort in the fact that his arrival was highly celebrated and anticipated:

He's already cracked 200,000 followers, and "predictedkanyetweets" - in which fans predicted future Kanye-isms - was a Trending Topic yesterday.

No Tweets so far about him shagging Shay, sadly.

NOTE: Follow THG on Twitter!

Kanye West has traded in short hair for gigantic breasts.

The rapper has moved on from Amber Rose and multiple sources - such as The Daily Mirror - now link him romantically to Shay. Yes, the Shay.

This Kenyan native is a model who moved to Great Britain when she was two years old. She's lived there ever since; stands five feet eight inches; and claims her 30JJ-26-37 measurements are all natural.

We have little doubt that Kanye and Shay will be together forever and ever.

Fortunately, Rose has also found a new love interest: she's been spotted out and about with Reggie Bush this summer.

You're welcome, Taylor Swift.

In the light of the mammoth, global success this artist has enjoyed over the last year, culminating in over one million copies of her new album being sold already, that's the message Kanye West has for the 19-year old.

The Dazzler

If not for this moment, would Taylor Swift even have a career?!? Kanye West isn't certain.

On the radio radio show "Mojo in the Morning" yesterday, the rapper continued to bring up his 2009 MTV Music Awards incident and made it clear that his rude behavior at that event "spawned" Taylor's popularity. In his view, at least.
