Did Justin Bieber act irresponsibly when posing in a new Twit pic with his father and girlfriend Selena Gomez?

Many believe so, and many are demanding an apology for the singer. Here's why:

As you can see in the photo, Bieber (on the set of Gomez's new movie, Feed the Dog) is holding a fake gun from the film up against a man's side.

In light of the recent Aurora, Colorado and Empire State Building shootings, some consider this to be a horrible, disrespectful misstep for the artist.

"Guns are on everyone's mind as a serious crisis in Canada and the United States. Everyone, that is, except maybe Justin Bieber," wrote a jornalist from Canada's Globe and Mail.

Missy Franklin is a new American hero, and now she's reaping the rewards.

A Gold Medal? Sure. Future endorsement deals? Most likely. But the 100-Meter Backstroke champion really hit the jackpot today when she received Twitter props from a handful of celebrities... including Justin Bieber!

Franklin has earned an individual Gold so far and a relay Bronze. She has qualified for five more events and if she advances the finals in each one, she'll become the first female U.S. swimmer to swim in seven event finals in a single Olympics.

Okay, we finally admit it: Justin Bieber is more popular than we are.

The artist achieved a long-awaited goal last week, 25 million Twitter followers, actually blowing past the mark by a few thousand and thanking his fans in the process.

"25 sittin on 25 mill #drakelyrics #motto," Biebs said to his Beliebers.

Justin, of course, remains insanely popular even in the face of a few recent hiccups.

He placed other motorists in danger earlier this month when he pushed down on the gas pedal during a paparazzi chase, and he was also sued by a woman who claims his concert effects were too loud.

It's hard to blame Rihanna for wanting a piece of Justin Bieber.

She had to settle for a cardboard mask, rather than the real deal though. The star tweeted an Instagram photo of her kissing someone disguised as JB yesterday.

She followed it up with a shot of "Justin" dropping trou. Enjoy.

Rihanna wrote with the pics, “Me & the beebs yesterday! Shoutout to my photographer @jennnrosales.” That would be Jennifer Rosales, one of her best friends.

Could Rosales be the mystery person behind the mask?

It’s uncertain, but seems like a pretty good guess, as she is featured in lots of Rihanna photos, and hangs out with the singer quite frequently.

After Lady Gaga usurped Justin Bieber's throne on Twitter this month, taking over as the most-followed person on that social networking service, a fan of the teenage sensation took to the Internet and - as excerpted by The New York Post - wrote:

"To all beliebers this is operation unfollow Lady Gaga. I'm sorry if your a 'little monster' but don't [you] want Justin to be #1 followed on Twitter?"

As a result of this campaign, the hastag #OperationUnfollowGaga has sprung up on Twitter.

Naturally, Lady Gaga's followers aren't on board with this plan. One Tweeted it to be "pathetic."

And what are the current standings? Bieber - who released a new single this week - checks in at 19,115,097 million followers. Lady Gaga has him beat at 21,813,419.

Justin Bieber is hard at work on his next album. It will be titled "Believe" and come out later this year.

But even a hard-working artist such as this 17-year old needs a break sometimes, and he took one yesterday with another major name in the business.

"Good time in the studio last night. back at it tonight. oh yeah…and big bro came thru," Justin Tweeted, adding for clarification: "and when i say big bro i mean @LilTunechi . #BELIEVE IT #family."

Bieber did, however, confirm at least one producer on the record, according to yet another social networking message:

This has been a heck of a week for Dancing With the Stars controversy.

First, Maksim Chmerkovskiy lashed out at the judges for what he felt were unfair, personal critiques of his partner (a sentiment echoed by Chaz Bono).

Now, a fake tweet sent out by Kim Kardashian sent out to help her brother Rob on Monday night has come to light, and infuriated other contestants.

On Monday she wrote to her 10.7 million followers:

By writing “OMG I have @JustinBieber’s phone#!!!! 800 8684302! CALL HIM! He’s taking calls for the next hour!!!” she was actually pushing votes to Rob.

Funny? Harmless? Maybe, but her own fans turned on her, calling her “lame” and accusing her of cheating, while the DWTS cast too isn't pleased either.

“It is totally unfair that Kim did that,” one cast member said. “The other celebs on the show don’t send out fake information to trick people into voting.”

It's obviously unclear how many people called that number thinking they were actually dialing Justin Bieber, or if Rob had anything at all to do with it.

Still, “some of the contestants think Rob should actually be disqualified,” an insider said. What do you think? Should Rob be eliminated for this?

The young singer has Tweeted out a photo of himself (rocking a fedora!) laying a smooch on the cheek of girlfriend Selena Gomez, while simultaneously extending an invitation to "#latingirls" everywhere. Justin wrote today:

gearing up for S AMERICA #myworldtour - who is coming?

Indeed, the Biebs will take his adorably talented show on the road this fall. He has booked stops in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Peru and Venezuela. He will then return to the States and promote his Christmas album.

But don't worry if you can't hit the road along with Bieber: he'll keep us well-informed of his whereabouts and his spit swapping via Twitter.

Justin Bieber and Chris Brown aren't just collaborating on a music video.

According to director Colin Tilley, they are collaborating on a music video that is "gonna be big." And now we've got your first look at it.

The artists have Tweeted two photos of themselves on the set of "Next 2 U," with Brown writing “Judgement day!! Lol" and Bieber adding: “#Next2You #EPIC."

These pictures likely won't land Brown in any trouble, unlike another Twitter-based news item regarding the singer. Turns out, he and Rihanna are following each other on their accounts.

We didn't see that coming!

The criticism lobbed at Justin Bieber by Marg Helgenberger came out of nowhere this weekend, and apparently came as a big surprise to Bieber himself.

Bieber seems to be pretty shocked that the CSI actress said he was a "brat" on the set, citing numerous examples of the youngster's behavior.

He finds it especially odd, since they never actually worked together.

Bieber never mentioned Marg by name in his Twitter-buttal.

Bieber just went on Twitter and said in response, "it's kinda lame when someone you met briefly and never worked with comments on you."

Still, he added, "I will continue to wish them luck and be kind."

"rumors are just that...rumors. In the end if you just be kind and be yourself people will know who you are. That goes for anyone i think."

Biebs also said, "I know who i am and sometimes people r just going 2 say what they want. Keep ur head up and be the man ur mama raised."
