A young, burgeoning music icon paid tribute to a late legend for the ages yesterday.

Justin Bieber came out for a special ceremony at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, where Michael Jackson's children helped immortalize their father via that locale's famous hand and footprint ceremony. And he was brought to the stage by a major fan.

"I want to introduce you all to a performer who also found stardom at a very young age, just like my dad," Paris Jackson told the crowd. "My father would have been proud to mentor to someone like him and would be very proud that he came to today's celebration. We are all very big fans of him, and his music. I know I am."

Bieber proceeded to send his best wishes to the family and then perform a cover of MJ's "Rockin Robin," as seen here:

"Michael meant so much to me," Justin said. "I know he meant a lot to you guys as well. He was more than entertainer. He was an inspiration. He was kind, gentle and very charitable. People are going to remember him for his dancing and singing, but people have to remember him for being the man he was.

“Thank you so much. Have a blessed day. Michael, I love you!”

Justin Bieber is many things: a great singer, a young heartthrob, a charitable individual. But he's just a man, folks. He can't hold it forever.

The artist was forced to make this admission recently after getting accosted by a fan on the way to the bathroom, leading to a Facebook posting in which he addressed those "mad" at him for not stopping to pose for a photo by saying: "im not a robot. let me piss first."

He then added via Twitter: "gotta just Kill em with Kindness. I know my responsibility. but sometimes i just gotta hurry up and take a piss though. lol"

Bieber is clearly not angry at his followers, however, as he gifted them the photo above via Instagram this week. He also Tweeted:

"WE ARE A FAMILY...never forget that. This thing we have done..this history we are making together. WE MAKE TOGETHER!"

The Biebernator is currently in the studio, laying down tracks for an album that's expected to be released in 2012. And the quicker he can take a leak, the sooner he can get it done.

Compared to his monologue from 2011, Ricky Gervais took it very easy on celebrities to open tonight's Golden Globe Awards. Celebrities in attendance, that is.

The comedian did get in a couple of digs at two THG mainstays, however, first comparing this ceremony to the Academy awards via this zinger:

“The Golden Globes are to the Oscars what Kim Kardashian is to Kate Middleton. A bit louder, bit trashier, bit drunker, and more easily bought... allegedly.”

  • Kim Kardashian with Bangs
  • Hands in His Pockets

Gervais then turned his attention to Justin Bieber, referring to his paternity test scandal and expressing shock at the mere notion of Bieber as a father. Quipped the host:

“The only way that he could have impregnated a girl is if he borrowed one of Martha Stewart’s turkey basters.”

Eh, not bad. Fairly random, considering music is the one industry NOT recognized by the Golden Globes, but, hey, being referenced in a monologue means you've really made it. Wait, no one tell that to Kim.

New excerpts from Justin Bieber's interview with V been released.

Along with touching on his relationship with God in the February issue, the singer gets personal with the magazine by also dishing on love, drugs and sex.

Justin Bieber in V

"I'm not going to try to conform to what people want me to be or go out there and start partying, have people see me with alcohol. I want to do it at my own pace," Bieber said of his age and his reputation. "I don't want to start singing about things like sex, drugs and swearing. I'm into love, and maybe I'll get more into making love when I'm older. But I want to be someone who is respected by everybody."

Hear that, Selena Gomez?!? Just be patient, girl.

Days after getting a permanent body marker of his Lord and Savior, Justin Bieber has gone on record with his feelings about God and religion.

In the latest issue of V, Justin says his faith may be private - well, except for that new tattoo - but that doesn't make it any less real or important.

"A lot of people who are religious, I think they get lost," Bieber tells the magazine. "They go to church just to go to church. I'm not trying to disrespect them, but for me, I focus more on praying and talking to Him. I don't have to go to church."

An interesting take.

Bieber also compares himself to undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather, but fortunately for any personal reasons.

"Now that I’m on top, everyone wants to bring me down,” he says. “Everyone’s trying to tug at me and take my spot. Like Floyd Mayweather, he’s the best boxer in the world. Now he is a champion. Every time he goes to a fight now, people are like, ‘He’s going to lose this time.'"

Hmmm... We're not really familiar with these critics that are supposedly aiming to take Justin down, the guy is really as beloved as any celebrity out there. What do you think of this combative side to Bieber?

Justin Bieber has been spotted in Cabo.

The singer is on vacation down south with at least his father and Selena Gomez, both of whom were also photographed with him on the beach this week.

Justin is getting in some time for play before heading back to work, as he Tweeted from the resort: “Start work on #BELIEVE again. Full time in the studio next week.”

The beloved artist also caused a bit of a stir a few days ago by getting a large shot of Jesus Christ tattooed on left calf. Most admire the dedication to his faith, but some wonder whether a giant tattoo is a bit showy, considering the cause.

Justin Bieber is a young man of faith, and he's not afraid to show it.

Over the summer, the singer and his father got matching tattoos of the Lord's name in Hebrew. Now, Justin has done that one better, debuting new ink of Jesus Christ Himself this week, as the Big Guy graces the artist's left calf muscle:

WWJD? He might pull up his pants.

In April, Bieber also made his religious feelings well known, going off on the paparazzi for trailing him through Israel. He didn't feel like they were respecting Jesus or the land on which He walked.

What do you think, Beliebers? We know how Tim Tebow feels about Justin's new tattoo, but are you down with this public display of faithful devotion?

Justin Bieber finished 2011 as the second-most charitable celebrity on the planet, but he didn't earn such a ranking by merely having his advisors cut checks.

The singer is known for taking a personal interest in special causes, and never was that more evident than over the holidays. As taped for an episode of Ellen, Justin stopped by Whitney Elementary School, which is run by principal Sherri Gahn and which is comprised of underprivileged children.

“I’m here to bring smiles to these kids’ faces," Bieber tells Gahn below. "For me, I grew up and I didn’t have a lot. We went to food banks to get food for me."

Bieber also donated $100,000 to the cause, played a song for the kids and made them cheer/giggle during a Q&A session where they asked his favorite color, along with what he and Selena Gomez do on the weekends.

Selena Gomez has received numerous death threats from misguided Justin Bieber fans who apparently don't want their favorite singer to be happy.

Is the artist scared in the moment sometimes, when such nasty messages are sent her way? We'd have to believe so. But asked about her boyfriend's enthusiastic supporters during an interview with Baltimore radio station Z104.3 this week, the 19-year-old came across quite mature and understanding.

"It's a little odd, but I understand it completely," Selena said. "It's amazing to me to see how many passionate fans there are. So obviously, you've just got to think of the fans first, and that's okay."

Gomez and Bieber both rang in 2012 from Times Square, with the former belting out a performance as soon as the clock struck midnight.

Selena admits it's "kind of" annoying that she and her young man can't share the same fans, but added it's "kind of cool we have our own individual [fans]."

The biggest artists performed live on one of the biggest stages possible last night.

To ring in the new year from Times Square, in front of over one million live revelers, Lady Gaga performed a medley of hits "Heavy Metal Lover,” “Marry the Night” and “Born This Way.

Justin Bieber, meanwhile, left his own mark on the end of 2011, taking to a stage in the middle of the audience and covering a Beatles classic along with guitarist Carlos Santana. Listen to their version of "Let It Be" now:

But Bieber wasn't done. The artist teamed with Jaden Smith and Tweeted a special gift to followers: this video of him and his hip hopping pal coming together for a track they simply refer to as "Happy New Year."
