For Missy Franklin, it pays to win a Gold Medal.

Yes, that's literally true, based on the monetary award given to Olympic champions. But it's also true emotionally, as this 17-year old swimming star has found out.

The Colorado native has already received Twitter props from Justin Bieber, but the singer and his adorable brother have now taken it a congratulatory step further. Watch their video message to Franklin below, along with her reaction to it:

Franklin, who has earned four Gold Medals in London and says she'll soon attend a Bieber concert, said of her experience after finishing first in the 4X100-meter medley relay on Saturday:

"I am over the moon. I'm not even on Cloud 9, I'm on Cloud 568! It's just amazing."

This is simply adorable.

In honor of her sister Ali's 23rd birthday, one especially nice and caring young woman presented her sibling with the surprise of a lifetime: tickets to a Justin Bieber concert in Dallas this October.

Moreover, she sang Ali a song and recorded a video of the pair to submit to Ellen DeGeneres in hopes that the talk show host would see it and be moved enough to gift the sisters with backstage passes to meet Ali's idol.

And we have a feeling this move might work. How come? A certain Twitter user with 25 million followers posted the video and included a message himself to Ellen: @theellenshow i think you should check these people out. u know people who know people...

We already know that Justin Bieber will rent out basketball arenas and take girlfriends on a helicopter date in the name of love.

But the singer proves just how far he'll go for romance in the new music video for "As Long As You Love Me."

As teased in an earlier sneak peek, the video costars actor Michael Madsen as the father of Bieber's paramour, someone who threatens the artist by saying his daughter “needs a man, not a boy" in her life. But do you think this stops Justin in his smitten tracks?

Please. Watch the video and weigh in on it now!

Missy Franklin is a new American hero, and now she's reaping the rewards.

A Gold Medal? Sure. Future endorsement deals? Most likely. But the 100-Meter Backstroke champion really hit the jackpot today when she received Twitter props from a handful of celebrities... including Justin Bieber!

  • Justin Bieber in Australia
  • Gold Medalist

"heard @FranklinMissy is a fan of mine. now im a fan of hers too. CONGRATS on winning GOLD! #muchlove," Bieber wrote to the swimmer this morning, which prompted the sort of response you'd expect from a 17-year old:

I just died! Thankyou.

American Idol champion Scotty McCreery also expressed support for Frankilin, Tweeting: "We're rooting for you @franklinmissy! Keep it up! #USA."

Franklin has earned an individual Gold so far and a relay Bronze. She has qualified for five more events and if she advances the finals in each one, she'll become the first female U.S. swimmer to swim in seven event finals in a single Olympics.

Justin Bieber has made it clear once again: he's not a little kid anymore.

The singer, who opened up about his beliefs on sex with Rolling Stone this month, covers the latest issue of Rolla Coaster and reiterates that his new CD was recorded with an older demographic in mind.

"I’m getting older and I want that to reflect in my album," he tells the publication. "It is just more mature and reflecting the age that I am."

Despite his massive success, Bieber also says he's constantly striving higher.

"Each time I break a record I’m always happy. With my YouTube stuff, "Baby" has more views than any video – ever. So my next goal is to reach one billion views on a video."

One billion?!? We'd scoff. But if anyone can accomplish that feat, it's the artist yanking at his shirt collar above.

Justin Bieber gets dramatic in the just-released sneak peek at his upcoming video for "As Long As You Love Me."

Featuring an extended scene of acting, sans music, the video opens with the 18-year old sensation speaking with the father of his girlfriend, played by actor Michael Madsen. He's being told not to contact the love of his life, but come on. Do you really think that will stop The Biebs?

“Here it is," Bieber Tweeted upon the release. "The rest of the video hits this coming WEDNESDAY…it is INSANE!”

Fortunately, Justin stopped himself from using any four-letter words while sending that Tweet.

He may be a mega, super, duper star, but it's sometimes easy to forget: Justin Bieber is only 18 years old.

And that teenage side reportedly came out during a 12-hour flight from Australia to Los Angeles this week, as TMZ sources say the singer and his entourage grew a bit rowdy in first class.

Cool like Bieber

In response to the noise and abundance of four-letter words, a mother of two approached Justin and reprimanded him.

Witnesses say the lady told Bieber to "stop yelling curse words and using that kind of language on a plane. It's not appropriate."

The Biebs immediately apologized profusely and quickly quieted down, which is sort of adorable to imagine. Yes, even Justin Bieber needs to be scolded sometimes.

Elsewhere in Bieber Land, Justin recently made headlines for opening up about sex during a Rolling Stone interview. Spoiler alert: he has it. But only because he's in love.

The moron who chased Justin Bieber around a Los Angeles freeway earlier this month might soon pay for his actions in court.

As previously reported, the artist was pulled over on July 6 for driving around 80 miles per hour, but witnesses confirmed he was doing his best to speed away from multiple members of the paparazzi who were after him for photographs.

Justin Bieber, Close Up

According to the City Attorney, a freelance "journalist" named Paul Raef was at the head of that pack and he's been charged with:

  • Two counts of following another vehicle too closely and reckless driving, with the intent to capture pictures for commercial gain.
  • One count of reckless driving.
  • One count of failing to obey the lawful order of a peace officer.

If convicted on all charges, Raef could face up to one year in jail and fines of $3,500.

It's safe to say Justin Bieber had a good night at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards.

This singing sensation took home four special surf boards (although he lost out to the Vampire Diaries Ian Somerhalder for Choice Male Hottie in the evening's most contested competition) and also took to the stage for a pair of performance, entertaining fans with "Boyfriend" and "As Long as You Love Me."

“What did u guys think?? I do this for y’all. #mybeliebers i love u. Thank u!!!” Justin Tweeted after his songs were over.

Well, guys, what do you think?!? Watch Bieber in action now:

Justin Bieber is a man now. So he states in the latest issue of Rolling Stone.

As such, the singer touches on manly subjects in his interview with the magazine. Sex, for instance.

"I don't think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them," Bieber says, later pressed on whether this means one should save oneself for marriage and replying again: "I think you should just wait for the person you're... in love with."

Bieber, of course, has stated how much he loves Selena Gomez. So you do the math.

Justin is the latest teenage icon to go into detail with his views on sex. Earlier this year, Miley Cyrus referred to the act as beautiful.

What do you think of these young celebrities discussing the subject? Fair game? Or a case of TMI?
