It's time to play the blame game.

As most celebrity gossip followers likely know by now, Justin Bieber was pulled over by Los Angeles patrolmen last Friday because he was speeding along the 101. It was merely the young star's latest brush with the highway law, too.

But multiple witnesses confirm the paparazzi were all over Bieber's car, with Justin himself dialing 911 not long after his ticket and doing whatever possible to alert authorities to the situation.

Justin Bieber, All Smiles

"This was like a Princess Diana situation," a California Highway Patrol insider told TMZ of the incident, referring to the 1997 tragedy in which the royal beauty's limousine crashed and she died while trying to elude photographers. "It was not Bieber's fault."

HOWEVER, others inside the department do cite Bieber's irresponsible actions, telling the site he could have simply gotten off the freeway.

"It's like rushing a woman to the hospital who's about to give birth," said a source. "You can't endanger the lives of innocent people, and Bieber did."

Whose side are you on in this blame game?

Justin Bieber was pulled over on Friday and cited for excessive speeding. It's not exactly his first traffic violation, either.

But there is another side to the reckless story, as witnesses confirm Bieber was being trailed by multiple members of the paparazzi at the time of his ticket. In an attempt to curtail the chase, he even dialed 911 not long after receiving his punishment.

"I have like five cars following me," Bieber told the operator. ""They're the ones that are driving recklessly now, I'm just trying to like not have them be on my tail right now."

The funniest part of the exchange? When Bieber tries explain the kind of car he's driving ("Ummm... a Fisker"), which actually invokes a giggle from the woman on the other end. If only she knew to whom she was actually speaking, huh?

Justin Bieber ran afoul of the law once again last week. Or he drove afoul of it, to be more accurate.

The young singer was pulled over by Los Angeles police on Friday after 10 people called 911 due to his excessive speeding and weaving on the 101 Freeway.

Yes, Bieber was trying to escape the paparazzi - but is that really an excuse for endangering other motorists? The worst case scenario is those (pathetic) photographers simply would have snapped some pictures of the artist.

Moreover, as TMZ recounts, this is merely Bieber's latest brush with highway patrolmen.

He was cited for going 90 miles per hour in his Range Rover last year… and he was pulled over in October for actually cutting off an officer.

Two months later? Bieber was caught making an illegal left turn. He also once hit a Honda whole driving a Ferrari.

Before you jump to Justin's defense, close your eyes and imagine: What would you be saying if Lindsay Lohan had this driving record?

So... should Justin Bieber have his license suspended?

Justin Bieber was involved in both a dangerous and illegal situation this afternoon, and it all went down on the 101 in Los Angeles.

As first reported by TMZ, the artist was pulled over for speeding and reckless driving after L.A. City Councilman Dennis Zine - a witness and former LAPD patrolman - spotted Justin barreling down the freeway in his Fisker Karma, allegedly over 100 miles per hour.

Zine believes Bieber should have been arrested on the spot.

"Bieber was driving like a maniac," Zine tells TMZ. "He was weaving in and out of traffic. There was hardly any space between cars as he weaved from lane to lane."

HOWEVER, Zine also acknowledges that Bieber had at least somewhat of an excuse for his actions: the paparazzi were right on his (expensive) tail. Four "reporters" swarmed Justin's car as soon as it was pulled over, in fact.

Sources say law enforcement officials will investigate these journalists for creating a hazardous circumstances, while Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, says his client was cited for going 80 mph and actually dialed 911 himself a short time later because the paparazzi picked up their pursuit.

Man. At least Justin and Selena Gomez are doing better these days.

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber Together

But Splash News has snapped a photo of what appears to be a very happy Justin and Selena, holding hands on their way back from a date at Los Angeles restaurant the Pink Pepper.

Look at Jelena go, people!

The latest report of trouble in teen paradise states that Gomez was visibly upset and "crying about Justin" during Ashley Tisdale's birthday party on Monday. While we have no confirmation on that story, we do have the above link/picture to prove that everything about to be A-OK between the pair.

For the moment at least.

They may be going on private helicopter flights, but might the relationship between Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez soon be grounded for good?

According to TMZ insiders, none of whom is named or extensively quoted, Justin and Selena have been unstable for quite some time now. Their status is described as "unstable," by the website, which claims the young superstars have continually split and reconciled over the past few weeks.

Selena and Justin Hug

Having been dating for 18 months, Bieber and Gomez are together at the moment, the source adds, but it's a tenuous situation and their relationship could crumble at any time.

Rumors of a break-up first cropped up in May, following a mysterious Bieber Tweet.

While we have no confirmation in either direction, both halves of the couple have certainly been busy of late. Bieber is flying around the country, performing and promoting his new album, while Gomez recently talked of going on tour some time in the future.

Might such busy schedules simply be too much of a burden for the adorable duo these days? We'll update this pressing story as information comes in.

Justin Bieber did not take too kindly to questions on the "Mojo in the Morning" radio show recently, quickly becoming agitated and ultimately hanging up.

Comparisons to Justin Timberlake were the main catalyst, with references to Bieber's mom and One Direction's Harry Styles the apparent final straw.

“I hope you take this as a compliment,” stated Mojo. “When I heard 'Boyfriend' for the very first time. I thought it was Justin Timberlake's single.”

Justin Bieber was far from flattered. “Man, that’s crazy because our voices sound nothing alike," he said. "I mean, I'm not trying to sound like anyone."

"Saying I sound like someone else is not really a compliment. ... if you were to say 'I heard some Justin Timberlake-esque things,' I would take that as a compliment."

That minor stiff was nothing compared to the reaction he had when Mojo decided to bring up Bieber's mother and One Direction singer Harry Styles.

After the radio host joked that Styles might end up seducing his mother, given his penchant for older women, Bieber went on the offensive.

"I don't think you should worry about me [and my mom with Harry Styles]," the 18-year-old sensation said. "Worry about your mom, bro."

Mojo then noted that his mom had passed away, right before Bieber peaced out. Awkward. What do you think of Bieber's reaction in hanging up?

Take that, Madonna!

In news that absolutely no one finds shocking, Justin Bieber is number-one on this week's Billboard 200 chart, as his new album, "Believe," solid 374,000 copies in its first week of release. That's the biggest debut sales week to date in 2012, surpassing the Material Girl's 359,000 for "MDNA."

Justin Bieber Tonight Show Peformance

The figure also represents a personal best for The Biebs. He previously sold 291,000 albums of "My World 2.0" in April 2010.

Justin, of course, has been anywhere and everywhere this week for promotion. The above still was snapped of him during a performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, while he actually stopped for a sing-along with fans prior to making that appearance.

He also engaged in a pretty great Awesome-Off with Jimmy Fallon earlier in the week. You should watch it.

Are you ready, THG readers, to play everyone's favorite new game: Pick Out the Immigrant... starring Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez!

With most of the political world reacting today to the Supreme Court upholding Barack Obama's healthcare plan, it's worth also noting that Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL) took the floor of the House of Representatives yesterday and expressed his disdain for the Arizona immigration policy that, essentially, allows police offers to ask for the identification of any resident, merely based on his/her appearance.

"In Arizona today, all that stands between you and a legal nightmare is whether a police officer feels there is a reasonable suspicion to inquire about your country of origin. Yet, Arizona politicians will tell you with a straight face no less, that they can apply this law without using racial profiling."

Gutierrez then aimed to prove these folks wrong by posting several images of celebrities and asking Congressmen to determine which is the immigrant. Watch for yourself:

"The point is simple," Gutierrez concludes. "The idea that any government official can determine who belongs in America and who doesn't simply by looking at them is completely ridiculous, unfair and un-American ... and yet this absurdity is the law of Arizona."
