Forget Snickers or Mars Bars this Halloween.

Tamar Braxton says there's something aside from candy some folks need to take during this holiday season: a chill pill.

The singer appeared on VH1's The Big Morning Buzz yesterday and was asked about the controversy surrounding Julianne Hough's Halloween costume.

Was Tamar, as an African-American, offended by the dancer donning blackface in order to resemble a character from the show Orange is the New Black?

Please, Braxton said!

Comparing Hough's appearance to more of a "spray tan" than blackface, Tamar said critics need to calm the heck down.

Derek Hough is speaking out in response to sister Julianne Hough's Halloween costume controversy, saying he can't even describe how badly she feels.

Big brother Derek addressed the issue after Monday's Dancing with the Stars results show, saying Julianne is "mortified" over the backlash she's received.

If you missed seeing Julianne Hough in blackface at a Halloween party in Hollywood Friday ... see above. The image went viral and people were unhappy.

The 25-year-old actress was portraying Crazy Eyes, a character played by actress Uzo Aduba, from the hit Netflix series Orange is the New Black.

Wendy Williams is joining the Julianne Hough hate parade.

The former Dancing with the Stars professional has come under fire for donning blackface as part of her Halloween costume over the weekend.

And, despite Hough's apology, Martha Plimpton has called out Julianne out as a moron and Williams took to the air yesterday to blast the beauty and ignorant and unintelligent.

"Who does that?" Williams asked her talk show audience while blasting Hough. "Who walks out of the house in blackface? Like, wow, Julianne...

"You have to figure this: This was, like, an intentional move. This was not something that happened all of a sudden and she was like, ‘Oh, is this racist?' You put thought into your Halloween costume... You don't just show up in blackface. Which means she's not just less than smart off the cuff - she's less than smart even when she thinks about it."

Martha Plimpton makes us crack up on Raising Hope.

But the veteran actress saw nothing to laugh about this weekend after photos of Julianne Hough in blackface went viral.

The Dancing with the Stars professional was merely dressed as a character from Orange is the New Black, but that didn't matter to Plimpton.

"It's not hard," Plimpton Tweeted. "White people: Do not wear blackface. Life will still be okay if you don't ever, ever, ever wear blackface. OKAY? GREAT."

For Julianne Hough, Orange is the New... Blackface.

The star turned some heads and stirred up some controversy last night when she attended a costume party in Beverly Hills dressed as the character Crazy Eyes from Orange is the New Black.

Julianne Hough Blackface

She put her hair in the signature style as this inmate, she wore prison garb - oh, and she painted her face a darker shade than usual because the actress behind Crazy Eyes is African-American Uzo Aduba.

As you might expect, the move has drawn a great deal of criticism online, with many aghast over the former Dancing with the Stars pro's use of blackface.

Christina Milian and Mark Ballas' elimination on last night's Dancing With the Stars results show was one of the most shocking in the show's 17 seasons.

They had had excellent reasons to believe they were safe, having just received the first 10 of the season for their cha-cha and an overall score of 28.

That was good enough for a tie for first - not last, but first - but fan votes were so far out of line with the scores that the two were ousted at night's end.

Ballas didn’t do the press line after getting booted from the ballroom, but Milian spoke to the media after the live broadcast about her surprise expulsion:

“I was shocked, for sure. I’m not saying it should have been anybody else, but to be honest, after having a great performance you feel a bit more confident.”

Maybe last week's brouhaha between Julianne Hough and Mark Ballas, in which she said he outshines his partners, played a role in the results?

Childhood friends Mark Ballas and Julianne Hough may be in a little bit of a tiff after last night's Dancing With the Stars, in which she guest judged.

After performing as a dance pro for five seasons, Julianne filled in for Len Goodman Monday, and weighed in on Ballas' foxtrot with Christina Milian.

"There were moments where I felt like choreography-wise, I felt like it was two people dancing side-by-side rather than together," she said on the show.

"So I really want to see [Milian] shine. I've danced with Mark."

"You have to stand in front to make sure you're seen."

Afterward, Ballas didn't sound too thrilled with that.

It was a very special week on Dancing with the Stars, and not just because the long-running show bid an inspirational farewell to contestant Valerie Harper.

Two-time Mirror Ball winner Julianne Hough returned to the ballroom!

Len Goodman wasn't available to judge Monday night, so none other than Julianne traded in her dancing shoes for judging paddles, if only for a week.

She also took part in the dancing, briefly, in the show intro. Watch:

The opening group number ended with an introduction of the judges, with a special solo for Julianne Hough, who also plugged her new film Paradise.

Julianne was kind, but not unreasonably so for a judge. She focused more on the stars, so there'd be no conflict of interest with judging her brother Derek.

Julianne Hough will be back on Dancing With the Stars, the show that made her a star in her own right, if only for a guest stint on the judges' panel.

Julianne Hough at the Emmys

The 25-year-old will guest judge at least one Dancing With the Stars episode this season while head judge Len Goodman is away on other business.

Len will be judging the British series Strictly Come Dancing, so the former DWTS pro and Footloose actress will fill in while he's absent on ABC.

“She’s just as, if not more knowledgeable than what’s going on over there,” said Mark Ballas, Hough’s former partner, gesturing over at the judges’ table.

“She’ll be honest, whether you’re family, a friend, or whatever to her."
