From a giant tub of crawfish to a standing ovation for all in attendance, it was a good night for Joshua Ledet on Wednesday.

The American Idol finalist first received a gift of those creatures from his friends in Louisiana, and then proceeded to gift viewers with a beautiful cover of Michael Bolton's "When a Man Loves a Woman."

He hit every note and every emotion, forcing Jennifer, Steven and Randy out of their seats long before the song even ended. The former said it was "the best thing I've ever seen on American Idol."

That's quite high praise. Was it deserved? Watch Ledet in action now and prepare yourself for many more weeks of Mantasia...

"Mantasia" himself, Joshua Ledet, led off American Idol's Top 13 with a rendition of Stevie Wonder's "I Wish" that he said was "totally out of my comfort zone."

With a little help from a piano player with a gospel background similar to Joshua's, you wouldn't have known it Wednesday night. He did a nice job with it.

A pretty safe performance, perhaps, but a respectable one.

"You just wore it out, at the top of the show," Randy Jackson, never one to exaggerate at all, tells him. "You've got this amazing Church of God in Christ kind of voice ... If you feel the beat and rock like that, you can sing anything."

The bar is already set very high for Joshua Ledet.

This season 11 hopeful covered a song by one American Idol icon last night (Jennifer Hudson's "You Pulled Me Through") and was then referred to by Steve Tyler as "Mantasia," a clear reference to season four winner Fantasia Barrino.

Is he worthy of such praise? All three judges gave Ledet a standing ovation after his performance, which led to Randy asking for an "Amen up in here" and adding "this is what singing is about." Do you agree?

American Idol has named its final 12 men on season 11.

Okay, yes, there will actually be 13 men, but if the show is keeping the final semifinalist secret until he performs on Tuesday night then he can blame producers for being left off this list.

While we still have a slew of live auditions to go through, it's never too early to start choosing sides. Are you going with the 15-year old dubbed the next Justin Bieber? The guy so nice his family named him twice?

It's a good thing Joshua Ledet got on that plane to Hollywood, isn't it? Who knows how far he'll go now.

This 19-year old from Louisiana - who started singing at the age of three in church, and who is a rumored member of the top 24 - told the American Idol judges last night that he nearly couldn't board his flight due to anxiety.

But he got up the courage, sang an emotional cover of "Jar of Hearts" and received a well-deserved standing ovation, as well as a pass on to the next round. Watch the sterling audition now and most definitely keep an eye on Ledet going forward:
