Oh, that poor, innocent Jon Gosselin.

The man that invited reality TV cameras into his home (and who married that nag of a wife) is a victim of an unfair media. So claims a totally unbiased source: Jon's mother, Pamela.

"I don't think he will ever be portrayed fairly," Pamela said to Star, after the tabloid shamelessly tracked her down at home. "It's always twisted... I don't think it's fair, and it never will be."

Over the past few weeks, of course, Jon has been accused of shagging Deanna Hummel, agreeing to a marriage contract that allows for cheating and possibly violating child labor laws in the state of Pennsylvania.

In fact, here's a look back at the last couple months in the lives of Jon and his annoying wife Kate. Click on each photo to enlarge it:

The marital woes of Jon and Kate Gosselin have gone from mere tabloid fodder to something much more serious.

Earlier today, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine whether or not Jon & Kate Plus 8 is violating child labor laws, following a series of complaints against the program.

Grating Kate

"We're not saying that they are not complying with child labor laws. We're investigating a complaint," Troy Thompson of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor said. "We're not saying that there was or was not a violation, just that we're conducting an investigation."

Earlier this week, Kate's brother and sister-in-law specifically called for such an investigation, as Kevin and Jodi Kreider wondered why there were no "laws protecting children in reality TV shows."

In a statement, TLC says:

“TLC fully complies with all applicable laws and regulations. ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8′ is no exception. For an extended period of time, we have been engaged in cooperative discussions and supplied all requested information to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor. We will continue to engage the appropriate officials and meet any standards or regulations that are applicable to TLC productions.”

A new episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 airs this Monday. If you really have a problem with how Jon and Kate Gosselin treat their children, you won't watch.

The following is great news for Kate Gosselin. She'll soon be able to write a book titled Love Is in No Longer in the Mix: How to Recover from a Failed Marriage Via a Series of Book Signings.

According to The National Enquirer, the marriage between Kate and her husband is over. A divorce is imminent.

“Jon said their goal is to be legally separated by July 15 because Kate wants to move on quickly,” a source said. "Jon is going to push for half of their money, but Kate is determined to hang on to as much as she can - and they’re worth more than you think.”

How much more?

The couple allegedly earned between $50-75,000 per episode of their show, while Kate takes in approximately $20,000 per speaking engagement. Moreover, let's not forget the hordes of free items that TLC has handed out to the family.

“Needless to say, there’s a small fortune at stake here, easily $10 million,” said an insider “And Jon and Kate will be fighting over it like cats and dogs!”

Or, to be accurate: Jon will be sitting quietly, stewing over the cash; while Kate will continually nag him about being greedy and lazy.

There's a real life family feud brewing. But this one isn't over cash and prizes; it's over the mental health of eight innocent children.

On this morning's CBS Early Show, the brother and sister-in-law of Kate Gosselin said Jon & Kate Plus 8 has devolved from its original intent of simply documenting the kids' lives.

"We thought it was very innocent at the time," said Kate's sister-in-law, Jodi. "It quickly turned into more and more demands from Jon and Kate from the network. It turned into 40 episodes in a six-month span."

Jon, Kate, their kids and their extended family of cameramen celebrated the sextuplets' fifth birthday as one, giant, awkward group on this week's season premiere.

Moreover, Jodi and her husband Kevin say there are sometimes cameras in the children's bedrooms and the tykes are "being exploited... it's time for America to see the situation for what it really is."

Based on the ridiculous ratings for Monday night's season premiere, America is definitely tuning in at least.

"Unfortunately, there are no laws protecting children in reality TV shows," Jodi said. "These children are very aware of the cameras in their homes. The home is their workplace. This is not a healthy environment for kids to be raised in."

This is all your fault, people.

We really don't wanna keep writing about Jon Gosselin and Kate Gosselin, as these below-average parents seem more interested in attention than their children these days.

K. Goss

But there's clearly interest in this couple, as 9.8 million people tuned in for Monday night's fifth season premiere; that's twice as many viewers as the show's previous high, and more than the number that watched this year's Lost finale. Sheesh!

So, what's the latest on Kate, who complained on the episode that her life was "just so hard," due to the media and pressure on her marriage.

(To which The Baltimore Sun's David Zurawik aptly replied: "Is it really, Kate? Tell that to a family in which the breadwinner has just lost her or his job, you silly, self-absorbed fool.")

According to David Rothermel, Jon's former employer at Style Craft Corp, his wife had him on an allowance; a miniscule one, at that.

"She used to give him only $5 to spend, and if he was out and needed more money, she would give him hell," Rothermel told Us Weekly.

Rothermel - the latest in a long line of friends and relatives to either sell out the Gosselins or go along with their publicity-seeking strategy - also recounted a story in which Kate stormed into the office because Jon's father failed to bring her lunch; while also detailing Kate's lack of gratitude over the donation of a van for the family.

Isn't this fascinating stuff?!?

We beseech you, readers: stop watching this show. For the sake of Jon and Kate's children - as well as our sanity - it's best if this family is kept off TV for awhile.

Did you watch the fifth season premiere of Jon & Kate Plus a Few Possibly-Contrived-Infidelity-Rumors-Meant-to-Boost-Ratings 8 last night?

Those that did noticed that Jon and Kate Gosselin didn't appear on camera at the same time until 45 minutes into the episode.

Kate Gosselin's Hair

Once they finally shared a screen together, the pair pretty much laid into each other.

"Slowly, I've seen him almost resent the duties [of being a parent]," Kate said to viewers. "I know it's a lot to take care of eight kids. I'm traveling a lot, he's frustrated a lot. I think he's angry at me. He doesn't really feel great about me.

"Have I been hard on him for almost the last 10 years that we've been married? I would never deny that. I've always regretted it. Have I pushed him to this? I don't feel like I have. I feel like everyone is responsible for their own actions."

Note to couples: when a television crew captures your renewed wedding vows on camera, this is not the sign of a healthy marriage.

Meanwhile, Jon lamented that the series has "become a business" (which paid for their house and almost everything in it, he conveniently forgot to add), while giving his wife a guilt trip for always going on book tours.

In response to the episode, New Jersey's Star Ledger rightfully called out Kate for her hypocrisy over the paparazzi.

During a voiceover, the diluted, self-absorbed mother mother said she tells her kids to call the paparazzi "the P-people" because "I don't want them going to school being like, 'Well, the paparazzi is following us, like, that's so creepy.'"

Replied the Star Ledger: "What's creepy is having your children followed around by a camera crew. Any camera crew. Period. It's exploitation, whatever cutesy name you want to give it."

Do you think Jon and Kate will get divorced?

"I will not give up. I will not lay down and die."
- Kate Gosselin, reacting to rumors of her and her husband's infidelity, on tonight's season premiere of Jon & Kate Plus 8.

While reality TV's most annoying wife won't off herself in response to a series of rumors surrounding her marriage, she'll gladly risk her life on a motorcycle. In front of her children, no less!

During the taping for an upcoming episode, Kate and Jon met up with American Chopper host Paul Teutul Sr. The reasons why are unclear, though we'd imagine it has something to do with the fact that neither half of this couple has ridden the other in a long time.

They need to feel something between their legs, and the paparazzi barrage make it impossible for either to run off and get with their respective mister and mistresses. We almost feel bad for Jon and Kate. Except we don't. At all.

In the least surprising piece of entertainment news this month, Jon and Kate Gosselin have started seeing a marriage counselor.

As cheating rumors - and sex tape rumors and infidelity contract rumors - swirled around the couple, Kate initially refused to seek counseling.

Peace Out Kate

However, with the future of her TLC show (and related fame) on the line, she's changed her mind.

"It's make-or-break time for Jon and Kate, and counseling may be the only hope they have to repair their shattered marriage," a source told The National Enquirer. "The big question is whether they'll allow cameras into their therapy sessions. TLC would want to film at least portions of the sessions, but obviously Jon and Kate would have to agree."

Jon and Kate Gosselin almost seem like normal, loving parents in this photo.

Meanwhile, the attention-loving monster wants to wring two more seasons out of Jon & Kate Plus 8, others say.

"Kate wants a future in showbiz, and airing their counseling sessions will shoot the show's ratings through the roof," said an insider.

Forget Jon & Kate Plus 8.

The story of Jon & Kate Plus 8, in Addition to One Lover and Two Disloyal Brothers is far more interesting.

A couple weeks after he accused sister Deanna Hummel of nailing reality TV star Jon Gosselin, Jason Hummel certainly isn't backing off his story. In fact, he's reveling in it.

"I am not a liar," he told E! News earlier today. "The rumors are true. It feels good to let people know that I am not the liar."

It must. Clearing up one's public perception - which never would have existed in the first place if Jason hadn't gone on record about the affair - is far more pressing than remaining loyal to one's sister.

In the video below, Jason adds that he thinks Jon and Deanna will continue to see one another; Jon may have tried to bribe him with Philles tickets; and the couple would defy Bristol Palin's anti-sex advice "at least three times per week."

Meanwhile, Deanna's OTHER brother, John, is also confirming his sister's affair.

We were wrong. The Jon and Kate Gosselin cheating scandal can get even stranger.

At first, it seemed like rumors of a Deanna Hummel sex tape would be the pinnacle of this story; but then Kate was accused of starting the infidelity merry-go-round by having an affair with bodyguard Steve Neild.

Kate Book Signing

Now, Kevin and Jodi Kreider - Kate ’s brother and sister-in-law - are milking their share of this cash cow coming forward about details of an alleged marriage contract that allows Jon Gosselin to date other women while filming the couple's TLC series Jon & Kate Plus 8.

Yes, a marriage contract.

“All we know is what Jon told us, that Kate came to him with a contract saying he could have girlfriends and that he can do his own thing,” the Kreiders said to Radar. “In exchange, Jon needs to show up for filming. But otherwise he has the freedom, certain days, to do whatever he wants."

The couple then spoke for everyone that follows this relationsip, stating: "This is a train wreck for all to see.”

This photo becomes far less adorable when you consider the possibility that Jon Gosselin has permission to cheat on his wife.
