Katy Perry and John Mayer sort of dissed Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's "Bound 2" music video in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres today.

The cute couple joked with Ellen about how their own cheesy music video for "Who You Love" stacks up with Kimye's much-parodied love-fest.

"Was it your response to Kim and Kanye's 'Bound 2?'" she asked.

"Yes. I thought our response was a little bit more authentic because my hair was blowing in the right direction, though," Katy Perry joked of the video.

"She was facing backwards, right? So her hair should have been [blowing the other direction]," DeGeneres added of Kim straddling her baby daddy.

In the "Who You Love" video, Perry, Mayer and other couples ride a mechanical bull together. A metaphor for rocky relationships, perhaps? Sounds like it.

John Mayer, Katy Perry and a mechanical bull star in the new music video for "Who You Love, the third single off of the singer-songwriter's Paradise Valley album.

Premiering today on Good Morning America, the video features Mayer, Perry and other couples riding a mechanical bull before shooting off confetti cannons.

"We set a casting call up for real couples. It's just so authentic ... they were having a great time," Mayer, 36, says of the collaboration with his girlfriend.

"There's nothing scripted except putting the bull in the middle of the desert."

Katy adds, "Relationships are kind of like riding a bull  ... you hold on for dear life. Sometimes you get a little a little buck here and there, but you get back on."

She was up for the collaboration ... both personally and professionally.

"[John]'s just a fantastic partner," she added. "I've been a fan of his for such a long time. He's got a brilliant, brilliant mind. It's a rad, mature relationship."

Check out the video we posted earlier Tuesday of Katy Perry lip-syncing live, then watch an interview with Mayer and his girlfriend after the jump ...

Katy Perry loves John Mayer. He's a smart guy, according to the pop star.

"He literally is a genius, as is evident from his songwriting," Perry tells Billboard magazine, in which she also promotes her highly anticipated album PRISM.

"I always tell him, 'Darling, you know I'm going to have to give your mind to science after you've passed, because we're going to have to understand how all these sparks work.'"

You may vomit on cue. But keep the bag handy, because it continues:

"We'll be in bed, and he'll be doing the crossword puzzle. Every night, he tries to finish in under 10 minutes," she says. "When he puts his mind to something, he really gets it done very well."

If there were any doubts that Katy Perry and John Mayer are reunited and making sweet music together - literally and otherwise - consider them gone.

Their romance is immortalized in a duet they co-wrote, "Who You Love," on the singer-songwriter's new album, Paradise Valley (due out August 20).

It's incredibly cheesy, but in a cute way. Listen:

"Who You Love" offers lyrical insight into their attraction to each other and hints that they split in March because he wasn't ready to be in a relationship.

The mid-tempo track features Mayer, 35, singing:

John Mayer has released his latest track, a single titled "Paper Dolls," and it has the Internet buzzing.

But not because some woman is strolling around in the video showcasing her prancercise skills. Even though she is.

Instead, the Twitterverse and Facebook worlds are abuzz with chatter that this is Mayer's revenge against Taylor Swift - and there's strong evidence to back this claim up.

“You’re like twenty two girls in one/And none of them know what they’re runnin’ from,” reads one lyric, making listeners think of Swift's “22.”

John Mayer has been forced to cancel his spring tour.

Due to a recurrence of his inflamed throat condition, the douchebag of an artist posted the following message on his Tumblr account today, explaining the change of plans and referencing his upcoming album:

John Mayer in Las Vegas

"I have no choice but to take an indefinite break from live performing. Though there will be a day when all of this will be behind me, it will sideline me for a longer period of time than I care to have you count down.

"Okay, so here’s the plan... Born and Raised will be released as scheduled, but because I don’t make a very good anything-other-than-a-musician, I’m going to begin writing the next album very soon.

“I’m pretty emotionally burnt out at the moment, but please know how hard I tried to resolve this and how disappointed I am that I can’t perform this record yet. I’m completely bummed, especially for all of you who started making plans to see a show. Nothing feels worse than having to break the stage down before the performance, and I mean nothing."

The drought is FINALLY over, John Mayer Nation.

A few weeks back, Mayer teased fans with a 60-second snippet of "Shadow Days," the first piece of new music he recorded since undergoing surgery last fall.

Then, this week, he leaked "Shadow Days" on Cities97 Radio. It's not officially released yet (that comes March) but you can take a listen to the track below:

Columbia Records confirmed that his forthcoming album, the 12-track Born and Raised, will be released on May 22, with the above single due out March 6.

The singer-songwriter will also be hitting the road for an 18-date spring tour that kicks off April 9 in Bloomington, Ind., and wraps April 29 in New Orleans.

Mayer, who became known more for his douchebag antics, comments and Tweets than his formidable music career in recent years, is no longer on Twitter.

Maybe he'll let the music do the talking now.

John Mayer Quotes

The feathered cut projects an attitude of ease and quiet confidence that seems to have all but eluded our generation. This is a work in progress, and as my hair grows longer it will serve to become a more stirring and poignant statement.
