Monday, Joel Madden went off on a Twitter rant about a recent purchase made by his wife, reality star and fashion designer Nicole Richie.

Let's just say Joel would not have made this particular buy:

When Nicole Richie married Joel Madden on Saturday, the author, reality star and fashion designer was determined to keep the event private. She succeeded.

More details have emerged in the aftermath of the blissful affair, however. For one, Richie donned not one, not two, but three different looks this weekend.

Richie wore one gown during the ceremony, officiated by rapper-minister Rev. Run. For the dinner, she kept the same top and switched to a different dress.

For Mr. and Mrs. Madden, it was a night they'll always remember.

For the after-dinner party, she changed into another Marchesa frock. The same celebrity fashion designer was behind all three of the bride's gorgeous looks.

As for the cuisine, Madden, Richie and their 150 guests (including Khloe Kardashian, Gwen Stefani and Samantha Ronson) enjoyed a winter-themed feast.

The gourmet meal included red greens salad, homemade butternut squash ravioli, an entree choice of filet mignon or seared ahi tuna and a dessert buffet.

The guests proceeded to dance on a stage Lionel Richie had built over the pool at his Beverly Hills estate, making for an awesome time for everyone.

The longtime partners and parents of two tied the knot Saturday in a lavish yet private ceremony at the Beverly Hills home of her father, Lionel Richie.

While the details are being kept under wraps, we do know there was an elephant in the room ... or at least outside of Lionel's estate. Really, there was.

Nicole Richie walked down the aisle in a Marchesa gown that was custom made in NYC, with celebrity hairstyle guru Byron Williams doing his thing.

Joel's twin brother Benji Madden took care of best man duties, while Samantha Ronson served as a bridesmaid in the musically inclined wedding party.

Her best friend Masha Gordon was the maid of honor, with the wedding party also including Joel and Nicole's adorable children Harlow and Sparrow.

The location is Nicole’s father Lionel Richie’s house and the ceremony will be small and “winter-themed” ceremony, as “Nicole is obsessed with the season.”

She did name her daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden, so we'll buy it.

“A stage is being built over the pool so the guests have more space to dance,” a source says. “It’s cool because people will be dancing on top of the water.”

Nicole made a trip to NYC to be fitted for her Marchesa wedding gown.

“Nicole brought her stylist Simone Harouche with her,” an insider says of her gown. “A lot of thought went into her dress - it was a huge priority for her.”

The date has FINALLY been set for the wedding of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, at least if you're inclined to believe anonymous Radar Online sources.

For what it's worth, the alleged date is in early December.

The former Simple Life star and her rocker fiancee are set to tie the knot before a star-studded guest list at the Beverly Hills home of Nicole's proud dad.

One thing Nicole certainly didn't plan - but had much less control over - was the travel delays she endured, which almost made her miss the NYC appearance.

Thanks to engine and weather-related problems, Nicole had to take three different planes to reach NYC from L.A. for her Borders book signing and View visit.

"I'M HERE NYC! 12 hour flight. No hair. No makeup. But NOTHING is stopping me! Here I come!" she Tweeted. That's dedication. Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are lucky!

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, who have been together for several years and are already the parents of two adorable children, are getting married.

Richie made the announcement Monday night on The Late Show. Madden followed it up with a confirmation Tweet: "Yep. i'm engaged. Very happy."

Sums it all up right there. He adds: "Yeah we've been engaged for a while so your all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same."

A source tells Us Weekly of the pair: "Nicole and Joel are in the process of planning the wedding. She's very involved in every detail. She’s thrilled."

The couple is expected to marry (for real this time) in the summer.

Richie and Madden started dating all the way back in December 2006 and have two children together: daughter Harlow, 2, and son Sparrow, five months.

"For us, we are going to do it because we want to," said Richie last year of tying the knot on her own time. "We're going to do it when the time's right."

Looks like that time is now.

These two have been a nice, relatively normal couple and cute family for so long, but it's great to see they are making it official. Congrats Nicole and Joel!

On a side note, Nicole is rocking a new hairstyle that we're a fan of. Harlow's curls and smile just make us melt, too. Sparrow? He was recently born, so he's allowed to look a little confused. Joel? You look tired, man! Get some coffee!

Nicole Richie appeared Monday in court and was granted a permanent protective order against celebrity gossip photographers she had accused of harassing her.

She told the court about the car accident she blamed on the the paparazzi. But the news that caused the most buzz was her attorney, Mark Geragos, repeatedly referring to Joel Madden as "your husband" during questioning of Richie.

That was news to us.

But while Richie and Madden have been together for three years and have two young children, they have not, as far as we know, actually gotten married.

There is no marriage license on file in L.A. County for the duo. Afterward, Geragos explained the husband reference, calling it his mistake, nothing more.

Nicole Richie married? No. Mother of a cute daughter? Yes!

He told E! News that Richie and Madden have a "common-law" marriage, and Richie and Madden, who were standing next to him, didn't say otherwise.

However, California doesn't recognize common-law marriage, and a source close to the couple insisted that Geragos just misspoke, plain and simple.

That settles that.

As for the hearing, Richie and Madden both took the stand to discuss Nicole's recent car accident that they blamed on the pesky pair of paparazzi peeps.

Joel said of his non-wife and two-time baby mama: "She's with the kids 24-7. She takes them to work. She's constantly terrified" of what will happen.

Judge Carol Goodson acknowledged that the photographers do have a right to earn a living, but granted a protective order because "the court is extremely concerned about the possibility of a future accident" involving Nicole and her kids.

The photogs, who were also present in court, apologized to Richie and "promised" to leave her alone. The paps must now stay at least 50 feet away.

So basically, Joel Madden wanted to name his son Sparrow not only aware he will be mocked for it, but in part BECAUSE of that fact. Awesome.

As for rumors going around the Internet that Joel and Nicole are actually secretly married, that doesn't seem to be true. At least not right now.

"One day I would love to get married," Nicole says. "It's not something we're talking about. If my kids ask me to get married, I'd get married."
