Girls Gone Wild is bankrupt and seeking Chapter 11 protection.

The video empire is more than $16 million in debt, with the bulk of it owed to casino mogul Steve Wynn, according to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court filing.

GGW management says the company has less than $50,000 in assets and fewer than 50 creditors, the biggest being $10.3 million from Wynn Las Vegas.

Joe Francis' attorney Robert Yaspan did not comment on a string reports that the Sultan of Smut hopes to avoid another multi-million lawsuit from Wynn.

Joe Francis was ordered to pay a staggering $20 million after a jury sided with casino mogul Steve Wynn in his slander claims against the Girls Gone Wild kingpin.

Wynn filed suit in 2010 after Francis claimed the Las Vegas giant had threatened to have him killed, taken out to the desert and buried over a gambling debt.

Wynn, obviously, denied the claims and sued for everything in the book.

During the four-day trial, the casino owner called the accusation a "terrible lie." Joe is "unrepentant, vicious, out of control," said Wynn on the stand last week.

Among those called to testify was Grammy-winning record producer Quincy Jones, Francis' neighbor, a friend of Wynn's and an alleged witness to the claim.

Francis had insisted it was Jones who told him Wynn wanted him knocked off, but in court, the music producer said such conversations never took place.

Neither Francis nor Wynn were present when the verdict was read.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West recently went wild with the man behind Girls Gone Wild, vacationing in Mexico with Joe Francis, who just posted a photo of the trio during a break from ziplining.

If that seems random, consider: Francis made his fortunate by videotaping naked girls. And Kardashian... well... we all know how she made herself famous.

Francis reportedly hosted the getaway, renting a home and putting up Kim, Kanye and other pals.

It's just the latest adventure for the tandem dubbed Kimye. The twosome rode a roller coaster last month and also shared a photo of that ride with friends and followers. See, they're just like every other couple in love out there.

With the exception that they aren't really in love and are just milking an ignorant public for publicity, that is.

Madonna renamed her song "Girls Gone Wild" to "Girl Gone Wild" (singular) after a legal threat from underage-drunk-spring-break-girl-sleaze kingpin Joe Francis.

Which she says didn't impact her decision, at all.

Still, the Girls Gone Wild mogul warned the star with a cease and desist letter not to sing her single of the same name at the halftime show. She didn't.

Then, the singer released the song off her upcoming MDNA album ... with the "s" not only removed from the title and lyrics, but the lyrics as well. Listen:

Francis tells E! that his legal team worked with Madonna's people on it, and that changing "Girls Gone Wild" to "Girl Gone Wild" was just the start.

"An immediate solution for them to thwart any injunctive relief," he said. "Clearly her label was trying to avoid legal action surrounding the song."

"This is still infringement as far as the law is concerned. We have been in touch with Madonna's representatives in an effort to resolve this issue."

According to Madonna's manager, that's total B.S.

Sultan of sleaze Joe Francis is threatening to sue Madonna if she performs her new song called "Girls Gone Wild" at the Super Bowl tomorrow. Yes, really.

Francis, creator of the infamous Girls Gone Wild franchise, in which he films drunk girls exposing themselves on spring break, is apparently dead serious.

He has issued a cease and desist letter claiming he will take legal action against Madonna if she sings that particular song at this weekend's festivities.

The letter (sent to Madonna, NBC Universal and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell) from Francis' Nevada lawyer David Houston, states that:

"[Francis] became aware of Madonna's new track based on the presales of her new album MDNA, as the #1 song on the album is 'Girls Gone Wild.'"

"Mr. Francis and Girls Gone Wild have worked tirelessly for an excess of two decades to build his brand and to protect his trademark Girls Gone Wild."

Joe Francis is accused of assault by a female - what else is new - but insists he never laid a hand on a girl who says he got physical with her at his mansion.

He says surveillance cameras will prove him right, too, as video captured a three-woman altercation at his home back in January - and he wasn't involved.

According to Francis, two of the girls were fighting each other and all three were escorted outta there for being unruly. There was no attack by Joe, period.

The ladies told the police that Francis grabbed one of them by the throat and hair, and slammed her head into the tiled floor of his house - more than once.

Francis was charged with one count of battery causing great bodily injury, but has fought it all the way, saying there isn't even a tiled floor near the scene.

Regardless, Pacific Community Police Station officials tell E! News he was booked on a misdemeanor false imprisonment charge and released today.

The City Attorney who charged Francis at the time is currently prepping to run for D.A., and Joe believes that the entire case is politically motivated.

It may very well be. He may very well be innocent. He remains a sleaze, however. Like it or not, that's not going to help his credibility very much.

Joe Francis is once again in legal hot water, finding himself in the middle of a police investigation after a woman told cops he pushed her to the ground.

The woman told police she met Joe at a Hollywood night club late Friday night and agreed to go back to his home, where they got into an altercation.

Joe shoved her to the ground, she claims, causing minor injuries. She left, called the police and filed a report naming the sleazebag as the assailant.

Douchenozzle? Yes. Batterer? Inconclusive.

The Girls Gone Wild kingpin is not a stranger to accusations of battery by women (see Nicole, Jayde) or running afoul of the law in general. It's quite common.

Just a few days ago, in fact, he was indicted for stiffing the Wynn Hotel in Vegas out of millions n gambling debt. As usual, he claims he's the victim here.

"I am a huge target for false allegations," he said in a statement. "My bodyguard, who is a reserve Sheriff, is always present at my house for any party."

Joe Francis has confirmed his split from Christina McLarty.

His publicist said: “After careful and thoughtful consideration on both of our parts, Christina and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. We entered into our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness that we leave it."

"We wish each other the best for the future. There was no divorce and there will be no divorce because the couple was never legally married."

Francis and Christina McLarty had a civil ceremony "wedding" just last month, but apparently it didn't count. Just a couple of points here:

Joe Francis and Christina McLarty, who just got married this summer at his luxurious Mexican estate, have already split, according to reports.

"Joe Francis' wife moved out, and they might be getting a divorce," a source close to the couple said, although Francis' rep denied the story.

A source close to the situation says otherwise, though, noting that Christina McLarty "moved out of their home and into her mother's house."

GIRL GONE MILD: Is there trouble in paradise already?

It is not known if she has simply been staying with her mother temporarily for unknown reasons, but the split was an open secret among Francis' pals.

Francis was overheard discussing his separation with close friends at Bruce and Kris Jenner's annual Christmas eve party, according to Radar Online.

"He was talking about the details of the separation openly at the Kardashian party," a source explained. "Christina moved out after Thanksgiving."

"I'm not sure if she is still driving the S500 Mercedes he let her use or if she still has her ring, but she definitely moved out of his Bel Air home."

Brody Jenner is not only retracting his allegation that Joe Francis beat up Jayde Nicole (Brody's then-girlfriend), he's apologizing to his former enemy.

He's obligated to, of course, as part of the settlement to their legal war over an incident that took place between the three of them in August 2009.

Jayde Nicole said Francis pulled her hair and punched her in the face in a wild nightclub melee that ended with a chivalrous Jenner getting tasered.

Bromance means being able to own up to it when you're wrong.

Their stories varied, but Joe was too close to his ex (and Jayde's BFF) Abbey Wilson for the couple's liking. Jayde sued the Girls Gone Wild founder.

That's all water under the bridge now. Brody and Jayde split last December, and after settling with Francis, he writes as part of this public apology:

"I would like to acknowledge for the record that media reports that you beat up Jayde Nicole that night ... were completely inaccurate."

It is incomprehensible that Ms. Dupré could claim she did not give her consent to be filmed by Girls Gone Wild, when in fact we have videotape of her giving consent, while showing her identification.
