Joanna Pacitti is a former recording artists for Geffen Records. Does that make her an unfair ringer? You tell us!
She makes it to at least the Hollywood round of auditions on American Idol's eighth season.
The singer first sang the song "Out From Under" on the Bratz Soundtrack, which Britney Spears has now covered on her album Circus.
Pacitti actually make news at an early age: she earned the role of Annie for a Broadway production, but was bumped from the part before the show opened. Her mom sued and the case was settled for an undisclosed amount. Barbara Walters covered this story for 20/20.
Think she's too experienced to try out for American Idol?
** Update: Prior to the round of 36 being announced, show producers disqualified Pacitti due to her connections and experience.
