But then the Polish native appeared on Dancing with the Stars, posed topless for PETA - and really drew the ire of the Catholic Church by covering her naked body with a crucifix.

Krupa's defense of this controversial ad? God agrees with me.

When it comes to posing with a crucifix over her vagina and breasts, Joanna Krupa says God is on her side.

We wonder how He feels about the model talking openly about sex with her fiance, Romain Zago.

In October, Krupa told E! News that practicing for Dancing with the Stars was taking up all her energy. She couldn't even give it to her man at night!

"I have no time for anything except rehearsals," she said. "When I get home from rehearsals, I don't want to be bothered. Cuddling is enough for me."

God really didn't make this body for cuddling, Joanna...

Now that she's no longer dancing with any stars, does Krupa get it on with Zago on a regular basis? Not exactly.

"It hasn't really improved," she told E! over the weekend "My fiancé left town right as my time on the show ended... Hopefully, we will finally you know... It's been most of the duration of the show, which was 14 weeks... he's not very happy."

Don't worry, Romain. Next month, you can be one of the millions of men around the world that sees Krupa naked in Playboy. That should be comforting.

According to the supermodel - who is feuding with the Catholic League after the organization took issue with her naked use of a crucifix in a recent poster for PETA - the Big Man Upstairs also gave her the right to exploit religion for attention.

In an interview with TV Guide, Krupa admits this is her goal. Here's what she has to say on the controversial topic...

On the Catholic theme of her ad: When PETA approached me to do an ad again, my team told them we wanted to make sure the concept is controversial, sadly, because that's the only way to get your message out there. It takes controversial photos for us to think about pressing issues.

Otherwise, we would rather go on watching and debating Jon and Kate [Gosselin]'s financial fights or Lady Gaga's costumes, while millions of helpless animals are dying.

On negative feedback: I was prepared to earn criticism and create controversy, but that was the whole point — to stir up emotions. To make people think, talk, discuss and direct attention to the horrific fact that millions of innocent animals are being euthanized each year.

On her beliefs: I, like many, see no clash or contradiction between a partially nude body and a cross. I am a proud Catholic and I am sure God is looking down shaking His head in disagreement with the Catholic League's comments.

For months, The Hollywood Gossip has been calling out PETA for its attention-seeking tactics; the charity clearly cares more about making headlines with racy ads than actually saving animals.

Now, we've got the backing of over one billion people, as the Catholic League has taken issue with PETA's latest, ridiculous poster: a shot of Joanna Krupa naked, covering herself with a cross.

Wrote Catholic League President Bill Donohue in a statement:

"The fact is that cats and dogs are a lot safer in pet stores than they are in the hands of PETA employees. Moreover, pet stores don't rip off Christian iconography and engage in cheap irreligious claims.

"PETA is a fraud. It also has a long and disgraceful record of exploiting Christian and Jewish themes to hawk its ugly services. Those who support this organization sorely need a reality check. They also need a course in Ethics 101."

Responded Krupa:

"As a practicing Catholic, I am shocked that the Catholic League is speaking out against my PETA ads. I'm doing what the Catholic Church should be doing, working to stop senseless suffering of animals, the most defenseless of God's creation."

That's dandy, Joanna. But can you explain how posing nude, with a crucifix covering your private parts, is remotely related to that cause? No way it's to hype your upcoming Playboy pictorial, right?

"I think worrying about going topless in a photo shoot or film is really ridiculous," Krupa said to Fox News. "And the fact is, Pope John Paul said, since we were born naked, it is art, and it's just showing a beautiful body that God created."

Somewhere, Levi Johnston is nodding in agreement.

The model and former Dancing with the Stars contestant might wanna rethink her strategy. After all, we're not about to go stomp on any puppies - but Krupa's multiple, naked PETA campaigns aren't exactly turning us off to the idea, either.

The latest poster showcases the beauty's affection for animal adoption and canine safety. She says:

“We’re trying to spread the word that breeding isn’t the way to go. Somebody needs to put their foot down and stop this breeding and these puppy mills... [T]hey’re in these little tiny cages, and all they’re doing is breeding their whole life."

Hey, if a picture of Joanna Krupa nude, covered by a cross, doesn't stop this transgression, nothing will!

Next month, readers of Playboy and surfers of the Internet will be able to see Joanna Krupa nude in Playboy.

Moreover, they can see this model almost naked in a former ad for PETA.

With those images in mind, it's difficult to get overly excited for Krupa's latest PETA campaign. She's merely topless in the poster.

Said Krupa, who poses in the ad with her dog and advocates pet adoption:

"We're trying to spread the word that breeding isn't the way to go. Seriously, America?!?

Was this season of Dancing with the Stars not boring enough already? You had to go out and vote off the most attractive remaining contestant, Joanna Krupa?!?

Is anyone actually excited for a threeway finale that features Mya (the clear favorite) against Donny Osmond (the ultimate panderer) and Kelly Osbourne (the... reality star)?

To Krupa's credit, she handled her elimination last night a lot better than our staff has. She said: "It's been such an amazing experience and I've grown as a person. Thank you to the judges. Thank you for giving me the opportunity. I had a great partner."

Fortunately, we still have Krupa's naked Playboy pictures at which to stare. But we've never been less psyched for a DWTS finals in our time covering this show.

Not even exposed breasts and a bare crotch can offer us comfort. Let's hope the show learns from its mistakes next season, features fewer random stars and more actual entertainment.

It's just so hard at first, but then something clicked and I slowly started getting into it.

Above, Joanna Krupa is talking about her current run on Dancing with the Stars; but she might as well be referred to penises across the country when guys pick up the December 2009 issue of Playboy.

The Polish model poses naked for the magazine next month, the second time she's bared it all in Hugh Hefner's publication.

Speaking to TV Guide this week, Krupa said she hopes viewers of Dancing with the Stars don't think worse of her for donning her birthday suit. She said:

"The photos are so artistic and it's part of my background. I did Playboy before and for the people who support me and follow my career and see me on the show, I would hope it wouldn't change their views on me because it doesn't change who I am as a person."

Moreover, Krupa isn't exactly the only female to dance with stars and get nude for readers.

Overall, the beauty believes that making men drool over her naked body is empowering.

"Women should never feel like they can't do something. In a way, it's a man's world," she said, adding:

"Men get paid more than women for the same type of work, so this is empowering. It's saying, 'You're a woman, be strong. Don't hold back, don't be scared. Do whatever you want to do. If you have something to say, say it.' I think we should show women can rule."

Of course, when women can say and do what they want while actually wearing clothing, they'll truly have made progress in the world.

One is a comedian.

The other is a Dancing Star.

But readers of Playboy will get a chance to see both Chelsea Handler nude and Joanna Krupa nude in the very near future.
