Jim Carrey hasn't starred in a funny movie for a long time. But he still makes us laugh.

Remember when Shia LaBeouf said he was retiring from the public eye?

That was SO three days ago.

Following a pretty hilarious diss by Jim Carrey at the 2014 Golden Globes, LaBeouf tried to start a Twitter war with the comedian last night… only to eventually backtrack and come across like a bigger douchebag than before.

  • Jim Carrey at 2014 Golden Globes

It all started when Carrey mocked LaBeouf's plagiarism scandal on stage last night, saying that "dying is easy, comedy is hard" and then adding

"I believe it was Shia LaBeouf who said that. So young, so wise."

Having recently confirmed that it's happening after almost 20 years, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are back on set for the long-delayed sequel to Dumb and Dumber.

Check out this photo shared by the latter from the set:

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels

Harry and Lloyd, complete with bad hair and dopey expressions, are back in action, 19 years after 1994's Dumb and Dumber first became a hit.

Fittingly, 2014's Dumb and Dumber To, picks up two decades after Harry and Lloyd’s crazy trip to Aspen. Bobby and Peter Farrelly are back to direct.

Cam Neely will reprise his role of Sea Bass, while Kathleen Turner will bring some new heat playing Fraida Feltcher, an ex of both Harry and Lloyd.

Daniels, who won an Emmy for The Newsroom Sunday, has promised there will be something even more outrageous than the toilet scene next year.

So, there's that.

Harry and Lloyd are prepared to throw a few more shrimps on the Aspen barbie.

With rumors having run rampant for months regarding a Dumb and Dumber sequel, Jim Carrey confirmed that the project is definitely moving forward yesterday, posing a close up of his character's infamous chipped tooth on WhoSay.

The actor added as a caption: "GESS HUUZ BAK BICHEZ?"

After Warner Bros. dropped the sequel this summer, all hopes fan had of Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprising their beloved, idiotic roles seemed lost.

Jim Carrey is sort of sorry to Second Amendment lovers around the country.

In March, the actor came under major fire from conservatives for starring in a Funny or Die video that made fun of gun-toting "motherf%ckers."

He then penned an Op-Ed for The Huffington Post in which he explained his stance in more detail and told critics to calm down.

Jim Carrey is speaking out about his upcoming film Kick-Ass 2, and not in a good way.

Rather, the star is condemning it for its use of what he feels is excessive violence following the tragic events in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, last year.

“I did Kickass a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence,” the 51-year-old actor tweeted.

“I meant to say my apologies to others involve[d] with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart.”

Comic book author Mark Millar, who also executive produced Kick-Ass 2, wrote a blog post following the tweets to express his opinion on the matter:

Jim Carrey may be known for his sense of humor, but the actor has settled on one topic recently that is anything but a laughing matter:

Gun control.

After posting a Funny or Die video that mocked gun advocates, the actor has been under siege from many Conservatives, led, as you might expect, by Fox News.

Give at least one eBay user points for creativity.

With Jim Carrey under backlash for posing a Funny or Die video (below) that calls out gun owners and mocks former NRA President Charlton Heston, someone on that website posted an signed picture of the actor Wednesday.

Read the listing: “Jim Carrey Autographed 8X10 Photo So I Can Afford a Gun!”

A black-and-white shot of Carrey with the inscription "“Spank you very much!," the item had attracted 103 bidders at one point and the price had been driving to $860.

Jim Carrey is trying to use humor to make a serious point.

The actor stars in a new Funny or Die video titled "Cold Dead Hand" in which he pulls double duty as the late Charlton Heston on the set of Hee-Haw and the lead singer for Lonesome Early and the Clutterbusters, a country group that mocks gun enthusiasts.

What kind of message is Carrey sending?

"I find the gun problem frustrating and ‘Cold Dead Hand’ is my fun little way of expressing that frustration," he said in a statement, adding in a far more pointed Tweet:

”Gun folks are afraid that control won’t stop with large magazines. Their nervousness is far less important than the safety of our children... 'Cold Dead Hand’ is abt u heartless motherf%ckers unwilling 2 bend 4 the safety of our kids.'"

Last week, Yoko Ono also got involved in the gun debate, using an image of John Lennon's bloody glasses to make her plea for gun control.
