Jessica Simpson previously shared this bikini photo of her newborn daughter. That was ... interesting. Now she's sharing more pics of herself, her fiance and baby Maxi.

Not that we need any formal event to admire Jess' beautiful little girl in classic black and white images, but it was actually Eric Johnson's birthday last weekend.

"Daddy's 33rd Birthday," Jessica tweeted. "Last year at Daddy's party, Maxwell was in my belly. This year she's in my arms!" Adorably, at that. Check it out:

Jessica Simpson's diet and post-pregnancy body aren't the only reasons she's making news this week. Check out this new photo of her baby girl Maxi!

Yep, that's little Maxwell Drew Johnson, age four months, rocking a bikini.

Jess revealed the pic on Katie Couric's talk show this week, immediately drawing criticism from some parenting groups who took issue with the image.

Kidscape called it "inappropriate" and implied that baby bikini photos like this one "contribute to the sexualization and commercialization of childhood."

Jessica Simpson, sexualization and commercialization do go hand-in-hand.

There's no question kids grow up too fast, but at the same time, can Maxi really be objectified at four months? Can mom have no fun dressing her?

We can see both sides. Tell us what you think below:

After much hype, Jessica Simpson revealed her post-pregnancy body today, and damn, girlfriend shed like 40 pounds, while retaining some intense curve action.

The 32-year-old appeared on the premiere of Katie Couric’s talk show today, saying that losing pregnancy weight has been a “lot of pressure” and a “challenge.”

"All the weight did not come off with the baby,” the booty-ful one said.

No, it has not yet, but ... wow. Nicely done so far, Jess. Nicely done.

“During pregnancy, I just didn’t think about it,” she said of her weight gain. “I thought my doctors were telling me that it was just a lot of water and whenever my water broke my whole entire stomach would go down but that did not happen."

When we saw Jessica Simpson nude in Elle this April, she weighed 170 pounds. Baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson arrived in May. She's lost 40 pounds since.

Earlier this year, the 5'4" Simpson signed a deal worth millions to become celebrity face of Weight Watchers. She's 10 pounds away from her goal weight.

“I basically take her with me, whether it’s strapping her on me or strolling around the neighborhood,” she said. “My new goal is 14,000 steps a day.”

Jess says she can't run yet, because her already formidable boobs have become so gigantic that it's just not even possible. See above, and below.

Jessica Simpson gained A LOT of weight while pregnant with Maxwell Drew.

That's not a criticism - Maxi was an enormous baby - but she also says she was somewhat responsible: "I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it," Jess told USA Today.

Little did she know the impact this would have on her body over the long-term.

"I didn't realize [the weight] didn't all come off with the baby," says Simpson.

She's now given up many of those foods, however, while doing Weight Watchers as the company's newest spokeswoman. She appears in the ads next week.

She hasn't revealed her current weight, nor what she weighed at her heaviest, but says she's lost weight each week on WW. How much remains to be seen.

Simpson works out 4-5 times a week, but mostly walks instead of runs because, well, "my boobs are way too big to run at this point."

"My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel ... I'm just your everyday woman trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancé and herself."

Simpson, who is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson, will reveal her post-baby body on Katie Couric's new show, Katie, on September 10.

Good luck Jessica. Good luck.

Jessica Simpson, her fiance Eric Johnson and daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson posed for a cute photo July 4, with fireworks as the fitting backdrop. Aww.

Two-month-old Maxi, who came into the world on May 1, was proud to help America celebrate its 236th birthday along with her happy parents.

Here's a cute and festive family photo:

Jess and Eric sure look proud, but Maxwell manages to upstage them, and the fireworks display with an adorable onesie (fortunately not a bikini onesie).

"Hope everyone had a great 4th!" wrote Simpson, 31, who dressed in an appropriately patriotic ensemble for the holiday (no cleavage this time sadly).

She's clearly taken to parenting in these past two months.

"From how I sleep to what I think about," she said earlier this summer, "Maxwell has definitely taken over everything life has completely changed."

Jessica Simpson's daughter is a big girl!

Days after providing the world an amazing Jessica Simpson cleavage shot, the new mother shared another adorable new photo on her Twitter.

Maxwell Drew Johnson, whom she and fiance Eric Johnson, 32, welcomed into the world on May 1, sure is a cutie in her social media debut.

Check out Jess' baby girl, eight weeks old:

"Howdy friends," Simpson, 31, wrote in the caption along with the pic of her adorable little daughter, dressed in a red and white striped onesie.

"I absolutely love my family," the first-time mom gushed. "Maxwell amazes Eric and I every day with every little thing she does!"

When she's not tending to Maxi, she's got other things on her mind - namely shedding the pounds as part of her $4 million Weight Watchers deal.

"The cool thing about the program is that it focuses on healthy habits for the long-term," says Jess. "I can still indulge my guilty pleasures every now and then, too. I have actually gotten a group of friends together who are going to be doing it with me."

Good luck, girl. Good luck. And post more photos.

Jessica Simpson, who became a first-time mother May 1, has debuted her baby daughter Maxwell Drew Simpson on the cover of People magazine.

Since she arrived, "life has completely changed," Jessica says. "From how I sleep to what I think about, Maxwell has definitely taken over everything!"

Here's mom and daughter looking beautiful on the cover:

Simpson and Johnson gave People an exclusive interview, along with photos of little ball Maxi, who's inherited her mom's eyes and her dad's demeanor.

Recovering from surgery - she delivered via C-section - hasn't been easy, Jess says, and nursing, which she does throughout the day, is now "a full-on job."

Only 3-5 more years to go, according to attachment parenting proponents.

Still, she says, "It's the worst if I have to pump and give Eric a bottle to give her," says Simpson. "I miss holding her and having that closeness."

"We just stare at her all the time. We can't get enough!"

Nor can we. Go buy People for more cute photos!

One week after she welcomed baby girl Maxwell Drew, Jessica Simpson gave her five million-plus Twitter followers an update on her precious daughter.

"I am so in love with baby Maxwell," the singer wrote Tuesday, gushing over her first-born with Eric Johnson. "I want to cry every time I look at her."

"Motherhood is by far the best thing I've ever experienced."

"Little" Maxwell arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles the morning of Tuesday, May 1, and weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs., 13 oz.

Jess claims everything is swell now. OK! begs to differ.

The mogul, who heads a fashion empire that reportedly grosses $1 billion a year and stars on NBC's Fashion Star, is melting down ... the tabloid claims.

The 31-year-old may be cracking under the intense pressure to get back to work as quickly as possible, OK! claims, a situation that also upsets Eric.

He hoped that once their daughter was born, Jessica would take a break from her busy schedule. Whether that actually occurs remains to be seen.

"The sky's the limit," Jessica said in February. "Even with music and acting and being a mom and anything else that I want to do, I know that I can do it all."

"Life is definitely always about expanding. That's how we grow."

Easy to say at the time, but now that the reality of being a mom has set in, Jessica isn't so sure ... about that or marrying Eric, or losing 65 pounds. Gonna be rough.

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson welcomed their daughter Maxwell Drew on Tuesday morning, and the new dad is doing all he can to take care of mom.

"Eric is amazing. He is involved with every single thing, and Maxwell adores him," a source close to Jessica says. "Whenever she cries, he picks her up and holds her in his arms, and [Maxwell] immediately stops crying."

"It's just the cutest thing."

In March, Simpson predicted that her fiancé would be an "unbelievable" father because he's patient and a born leader ... whatever that means.

In any case, she was totally right!

"He is the best dad already," the source continues. "He is also super attentive and taking amazing care of Jessica throughout. It's incredible."

All very good to hear.

Joe Simpson is a proud papa and a proud grandpa this week.

The father of Jessica Simpson has taken to Twitter to share his excitement over the birth of Jessica giving birth to a girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson, Tuesday.

Grandpa Joe said his daughter always wanted to become a mother, and seeing her welcome her first child with fiance Eric Johnson was a joyous moment.

On Tuesday, he Tweeted, "Proud PaPaJoe!! Beautiful baby girl... What a miracle!"

The little miracle arrived at an L.A. hospital with Eric, 32, and their families supporting Jessica, 31, who delivered the 9 lb., 13 oz. bundle.

"We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received," Simpson wrote on her official website after the delivery.

"This has been the greatest experience of our lives!"
