Jerry Sandusky - the disgraced former Penn State assistant whose alleged, despicable actions led to a cover-up that will forever tarnish Joe Paterno's legacy - has issued a statement on the passing of the iconic football coach.

RIP Paterno

"This is a sad day!" Sandusky said, exclamation mark included. "Our family, Dottie [Sandusky's wife] and I would like to convey our deepest sympathy to Sue [Paterno] and her family. Nobody will be able to take away the memories we all shared of a great man, his family, and all the wonderful people who were a part of his life.

"He maintained a high standard in a very difficult profession. Joe preached toughness, hard work and clean competition. Most importantly, he had the courage to practice what he preached."

Sandusky, of course, faces over 40 counts of child sex charges; while the inability of Paterno and other Penn State officials to report their knowledge of Sandusky's actions to the police has led to the biggest scandal in the history of college athletics.

For the first time since his firing and the subsequent charges of child sex abuse against ex-defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, Joe Paterno has spoken out.

Telling Sally Jenkins of The Washington Post that he's "shocked and saddened" by what has become of his former football program, the iconic coach admitted he "didn't know which way to go" after he was informed Sandusky had been caught engaging in appropriate behavior with a child in the shower.

Asked what coach Mike McQueary told him about the 2002 incident - in which the assistant swore to the grand jury that he heard "slapping" sounds emanating from the shower and then witnessed Sandusky seeming to anal raping a young boy - told him 10 years ago, Paterno said:

"He didn't want to get specific. And to be frank with you I don't know that it would have done any good, because I never heard of, of, rape and a man. So I just did what I thought was best. I talked to people that I thought would be, if there was a problem, that would be following up on it."

Proving that NBC personnel suck at holding their liquor as well as producing TV shows and updating their website, correspondent Jay Gray was arrested last Monday after allegedly getting wasted at a party thrown by Jerry Sandusky's lawyer.

Gray was invited by attorney Joe Amendola to watch the New York Giants game the night of December 11, along with reporters from other media outlets, all of whom were vying for an exclusive interview with disgraced former PSU coach Sandusky.

Gray got "really drunk" during the game - won by the Giants over Dallas, 37-34, after an INSANE finish! - and sometimes after midnight, Gray left the party and began driving. Intoxicated. The Pennsylvania State Police stopped and popped him for DUI.

According to police records released after the fact, "He [Gray] had been drinking and was arrested for DUI." The time of arrest was 1:45 a.m. on December 12.

Somehow we're guessing Sandusky, the former defensive coordinator and accused child molester, will be taking his big-ticket tell-all interview elsewhere.

Mike McQueary - the Penn State assistant coach currently on administrative leave due to the Jerry Sandusky child sex scandal rocking that campus - took to the stand today for a preliminary hearing that focused on two former school officials.

Similar to what was reported weeks ago by a Grand Jury, McQueary said he heard skin-on-skin slapping sounds emanating from the a shower in a university locker room. He peaked in and saw Sandusky with his hands around a boy's waist from behind, while the child was facing the wall.

McQueary said he cannot be 100% certain than anal rape was taking place, but: "I know they saw me. They looked directly in my eye, both of them."

He then exited the premises, told Joe Paterno about the incident - stating the coach looked disappointed at the news and told his charge he did the right thing - but did not use the words "sodomy" or "anal intercourse."

Jerry Sandusky pleaded not guilty inside of a Pennsylvania courtroom today, waiving his right to a preliminary hearing in the process and avoiding any testimony from those who have accused him of child abuse. For now at least.

The disgraced ex-defensive coordinator at Penn State subsequently appeared on the courtroom steps alongside his lawyer, Joseph Amendola, who told the press:

"There will be no plea negotiations. This is a fight to the death."

Amendola added that his client also waived his appearance at the January 11 arraignment and asked for a jury trial.

A handful of alleged victims were present at the court house this morning and prepared to make their claims public , a step they will now take instead some time in 2012.

Said Howard Janet, an attorney for one of the boys who has said he showered with Sandusky: "It would have been apparent from watching those boys and their demeanor that they were telling the truth."

For the first time since her husband was arrested on multiple charges of heinous sex crimes against young boys, Dottie Sandusky has spoken out.

Dottie says she's been "shocked and dismayed by the allegations made against" the ex-Penn State coach, adding:

"As the mother of six children, I have been devastated by these accusations.

"Our children, our extended family and friends know how much Jerry and I love kids and have always tried to help and care for them. We would never do anything to hurt them. I am so sad anyone would make such a terrible accusation which is absolutely untrue. We don't know why these young men have made these false accusations, but we want everyone to know they are untrue."

Earlier today, Dottie helped bail her husband out of jail by writing a personal check for $50,000. He remains confined to the couple's house and, if his lawyer has any brains at all, will stop making public statements such as these.

A day after getting arrested on new sex abuse charges, former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky has been released on bail.

Sources tell TMZ that Sandusky's wife wrote a $50,000 personal check to help make the $250,000 bond, with the rest coming out of Sandusky's real estate holdings.

The disgraced ex-coach - who is now accused of forcing himself on a young boy in his own basement, while the child screamed for help from Sandusky's wife - must remain at home, a court has ruled, and has been barred from contact with anyone related to the case.

A few weeks after his first public statements since his arrest on sexual abuse charges - in which he admitted to showering with boys, but rejected any notion that he's a pedophile - former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky has spoken out again.

With 40 charges already filed against him, and with a new accuser coming forth this week, Sandusky told The New York Times:

"These allegations are false, I didn't do those things. I'm not the monster everyone made me out to be. I didn't engage in sexual acts."

The disgraced ex-coach will be in court on December 13 for a preliminary hearing, as he's currently charged with molesting eight kids over a 15-year period.

A new, anonymous accuser has stepped forward and released a statement that alleges prolonged abuse at the hands of Jerry Sandusky.

In a letter, the man - referred to at the moment as John Doe, and not one of the eight victims named in the grand jury report that led to an indictment of the former Penn State defensive coordinator on 40 counts of sexual abuse - says he met Sandusky through his Second Mile charity and cites over 100 inappropriate incidents between 1992 and 1996.

"I don’t want other kids to be hurt and abused by Jerry Sandusky or anybody like Penn State to allow people like him to do it—rape kids!" the statement reads. "I never told anybody what he did to me over 100 times at all kinds of places until the newspapers reported that he had abused other kids and the people at Penn State and Second Mile didn’t do the things they should have to protect me and the other kids."

This alleged victim is now 29 years old, says Sandusky threatened him with violence if he ever came forward and has filed a lawsuit against the disgraced ex coach.

A day after Jerry Sandusky gave a disturbing interview to Bob Costas - in which the former Penn State defensive coordinator admitted to showering with young boys - Mike McQueary has also made news for his role in the alleged cover-up of child molestation at the university.

McQueary is the assistant coach who, according to a grand jury report, walked in on Sandusky anally raping a 10-year old in a shower in 2002. He has come under extreme fire for going to his father about the incident, as opposed to the police, while also not actually stopping the act.

But a new email has surfaced, sent by McQueary to a reporter last week, in which the ex-coach says he DID break up the rape and DID speak to authorities about what he witnessed. This is what it reads:

You are the first person I have told this ... and I don't know you extremely well ... and I have been told bye (sic) officials to not say anything...

I did stop it, not physically ... but made sure it was stopped when I left that locker room ... I did have discussions with the official at the university in charge of police ... no one can imagine my thoughts or wants to be in my shoes for those 30-45 seconds...trust me.

Do with this what you want ... but I am getting hammered for handling this the right way ... or what I thought at the time was right ... I had to make tough impacting quick decisions.

What an enormous, tragic mess.
