Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell, her husband of a year and a half, have welcomed twin girls, Howard Stern announced on his Sirius radio show Monday morning.

News that the two were expecting first broke in July. A month later, O'Connell joked that he was already feeling protective of his unborn daughters.

"Just the fact that they're girls, you know?" he said. "I don't want them to date. They're only allowed to date men who run countries. They're only allowed to date men who are heir to the throne or are currently running a nation."

It wasn't easy for ger to get pregnant, but Rebecca Romijn - who skipped pal Stern's wedding to Beth Ostrosky because of bed rest - revealed that the twin girls were ultimately conceived without the help of in vitro fertilization or drugs.

"A year ago, we tried [fertility drug] Clomid for a couple of months unsuccessfully," she said. "But by the second month, I was like, 'Ahhh! I hate this!' I think when you start messing with your own hormones, it's crazy-making."

As for O'Connell, we're guessing he had no trouble doing his part. Dude was seeing Rebecca Romijn nude on a nightly basis, after all.

A spokesman for the couple confirmed the news Monday. The baby twins will be the first kids for the pair, who married in July 2007.

A source close to the vagabond actor told Us Weekly that "Jerry couldn’t be happier about becoming a dad.”

Earlier this month, Jerry O'Connell said he wanted to have kids, saying "It would be amazing if it happened, I really hope it does happen" and joking that at the very least, the conception process has been "a lot fun for me."

He is Jerry O'Connell, and she is Rebecca Romijn, so we don't doubt that's true. Congratulations to the happy couple.

Evidently deciding that one loser ex-husband wasn't enough, Rebecca Romijn wed Jerry O'Connell Saturday in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles.

The supermodel, 34, wore a Ralph Lauren gown and jewelry by Neil Lane as she and Jerry O'Connell, 33, exchanged vows in front of 100 family and friends.

The couple's two dogs, Taco and Better, dressed in black bow ties, also joined in on the festivities, running around the grounds.

"It was a perfect celebration and Jerry and I couldn't be happier," Romijn gushed to People.

The couple met back in the fall of 2004 when Romijn was scouting for her documentary Wet Dreams, about choreographing the fountains at Las Vegas' Bellagio Hotel and Casino.

THG NOTE: When we first heard about it, we were guessing that documentary had to do with Amanda Beard nude. But, live and learn, right?

"We met Jerry at a party," Romijn said. "We told him what we were doing and he was like, 'You're making a documentary out of this? I want to be the boom operator!' He was totally game."

Jerry O'Connell proposed to Romijn in September 2005 in New York.

This is the first marriage for O'Connell and the second for Romijn, who was, of course, married to the great John Stamos.

Romijn currently stars in ABC's hit comedy Ugly Betty with Vanessa Williams and America Ferrera. O'Connell will be starring in ABC's new Carpoolers this fall.

While this is a first marriage for O'Connell, the actor was previously engaged to E! News host Giuliana DePandi.
