One is a married mother of two. The other dates around a lot and writes songs about it.

One will soon be seen every week on American Idol. The other released a new album this month.

Over the past few weeks, we've expressed our disdain over the young Jenner siblings posing for a supermarket tabloid, and over 13-year old Ava Sambora walking down the runway.

But these burgeoning stars are senior citizens compared to Jennifer Lopez's two-year old twins, Max an Emme, both of whom join their mother in a new set of Gucci ads.

"It was a totally special experience," Lopez told Us Weekly of the spread. "It's exactly why I'm excited to be a part of this. Now there are two Gucci spokesbabies for a beautiful cause!"

  • Too Young to Model
  • Gucci Family

The details of the cause are as follows: in honor of the collection, the company donated $1 million to UNICEF's Schools for Africa initiative. We certainly can't take issue with that.

The new American Idol team has been together for about a half hour, and there's already a report of dissention on set.

A source tells the latest issue of In Touch Weekly that Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Seacrest are engaged in a power struggle over such pressing items as who gets which dressing room.

“Ryan was the one who first suggested Jennifer, but now he’s starting to regret it, because she’s acting like she’s a much bigger star than he is,” said the insider. “Ryan knows the diva behavior is likely to get worse before it gets better. Producers are trying to get them to make peace, but their egos are both pretty big.”

American Fight-ol: It's reportedly J. Lo. versus Ryan Seacrest!

One is a pop star rumored to be performing at Super Bowl XLV. Another is a new American Idol judge. The third is... a professional celebrity.

But Fergie, Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian were all ready for some football late night, as they attended the Miami Dolphies home-opener. Fergie performed the national anthem with Marc Anthony; Lopez actually has a minority stake in the team; and Kim was likely patrolling the locker room for a new man.

The Dolphins lost 31-23 to the Jets, a result that got us thinking: which of these women would you most wanna see lose... her clothing?!?

For Jennifer Lopez, it was all about family.

Despite rumors that claimed her diva-like demands delayed her inclusion on the American Idol judging panel, the singer is officially on board and told People magazine why in a new interview.

"We're really happy that we get to be in one place with the babies [2-year-old twins Max and Emme] for a while," she said of her and husband Marc Anthony. "This is going to put us here for like six months. It's unheard of for us. The babies can do dance class and soccer practice. We're excited about being a little bit of a normal family for a little while."

Lopez says she never would have guessed this is where her career would go... but that's just part of being an entertainer.

The worst kept secret in Hollywood is now official: Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will be the new judges on American Idol.

Following weeks of reliable speculation, both artists were introduced as part of a judging panel with Randy Jackson at a press conference in Los Angeles today. Lopez immediately set her sights as high as possible:

Todrick

"I'm looking for the next Michael Jackson," she said.

Tyler was introduced to reporters as a "rock legend" and said his inclusion on the show feels "fabulous."

"[It] feels like the perfect feathered nest," added the Aerosmith singer. "It's being a part of something much bigger than yourself. I want to bring some rock to this roller coaster."

It's a done deal: Jennifer Lopez is signing a $12 million deal to join to American Idol. What's unclear is how much of the negative publicity she's gotten is real.

Lopez has been the subject of intense media scrutiny with regard to a coveted spot on a rebooted American Idol panel, which also now features Steven Tyler.

Ryan and Ashthon Jones

Her name first surfaced for the gig in late July, before a number of media outlets said the deal was dead due to alleged “diva” demands by the singer/actress.

Fox executives say those stories are largely works of fiction, planted by people with a grudge against Idol and people in direct competition with the reality hit.

Despite reports of J. Lo demanding way too much money and insisting on movie deals, TMZ reports that her negotiations have actually been "quite normal."

There is a movie component to the deal, as well other potential projects, but the centerpiece of the deal was always Idol and the diva angle was overblown.

Regardless, Kara DioGuardi is definitely out, leaving a Season 10 panel of Randy Jackson, Tyler and J Lo. Do you think that's a good American Idol lineup?

She's been in and out more times than The Situation on Jersey Shore, but Jennifer Lopez appears to finally have agreed to a deal with Fox.

About a month after reports indicated the singer would NOT be joining the revamped judging table on American Idol, Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood now says a deal is complete.

Allison Iraheta, American Idol

The hold up, reportedly, had been J Lo's insistence that Fox agree to a movie deal along with the Idol gig, but sources say the network "called her bluff several times."

"That's when real or imagined 'Plan B' feelers put out to other talent would wind up in the media," Finke writes. "It was left to returning Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe to deny these unconfirmed reports circulating that J-Lo was losing the job because of her diva demands."

So much for those rumors.

Following the near-confirmation that Jennifer Lopez would join the American Idol judging table next season, a new report says this will not be the case after all.

J. Lo Live

Speaking to People, the insider blamed J. Lo's dive-like behavior for the dissolution of a deal, saying: “Her demands got out of hand. Fox just had enough.”

It's true that Lopez is the only person to have the number-one album and number-one movie in the same week. It's also true that was nine years ago and she's spent more of the remaining time searching for relevancy. Perhaps she should check her ego at the Idol door.

So, where does the show turn now?

Steven Tyler is still a strong possibility, and Kara DioGuardi has not been officially let go yet. We'd love to see Harry Connick Jr. included, but no way the table doesn't include at least one female.

Returning producer Nigel Lythgoe says he'd love to bring back Paula Abdul, but she's under contract with CBS. Are you disappointed by this news? Do you wanna see Tyler and Lopez on board?

American Idol is apparently cleaning house.

Talk of who will fill Simon Cowell's vacant seat on the hit show's panel now shifts to who will replace the other two departing judges: Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi will not be returning next season either, according to reports.

DeGeneres, who joined the show in its ninth season earlier this year, confirmed in a statement that she told Fox it "didn’t feel like the right fit for me.”

“I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and would hold off until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next," she said. "It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for.”

The class act added: “I loved the experience working on Idol, am very grateful for the year I had, am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”

In the same statement, American Idol creator and executive producer Simon Fuller says, “I loved Ellen’s passion for the artists and her nurturing skills. She brought honesty and optimism to our judging panel and I will miss her greatly."

AI Crew

Next year's American Idol roster will look a lot different.

But here's where it gets interesting: TMZ reports that Kara DioGuardi has been fired from the program, which will return to a three-judge format.

Fox has not acknowledged Kara's departure in a statement, but it appears it's all but official. That leaves Randy Jackson as the last man standing.

The show will reportedly be going back to a three-judge panel of Randy and a couple of high-profile newcomers: Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.

This so-called "nuclear option" of blowing up nearly the entire panel has been kicked around for months, but nevertheless comes as a surprise.

Stars ranging from Harry Connick, Jr., to Bret Michaels, Chris Isaak and even Jessica Simpson have been rumored to be negotiating for the job.

Looks like J. Lo and the Aerosmith frontman won out.

The only way Kara could be asked back would be if the Lopez deal fell apart, but TMZ's sources claim it is already a done deal. Crazy stuff!

What do you think of the new panel? With Simon gone, will a Randy-Steven-J.Lo tandem usher in stronger ratings in Season 10?
