The press is relentless in its quest to make Jennifer Aniston pregnant.

The actress and Justin Theroux are making waves with their whirlwind romance, but for some reason, people are obsessed with this woman having a baby.

It makes no sense. Why would she rush into it when she just started dating this guy, and why it matter anyway? We have no idea, but clearly it does.

Case in point: The latest round of Jennifer Aniston pregnancy rumors, spawning from this picture of her showing a possible "baby bump" on Monday night:

Wow. Look at that "bump." That is totally a baby inside her.

"Could that be a baby bump on the 42-year-old? She says she's not in a rush to have kids with boyfriend Justin Theroux, but maybe it's time!" Hollywood Life suggests.

Brilliant sleuthing, Hollywood Life.

In the case of Jessica Simpson, there's very good reason to believe she is actually with child. But with Aniston, if she did anything beyond eating a healthy diet so she does not look like an anorexic waif, we'd be surprised.

One day, THG might report that Justin Theroux got Jennifer Aniston pregnant and it might actually be true. Or, we may be resigned to mocking take tabloid reports forever.

Either way, she is definitely not with child now, or yearning to be.

"There's no desperation," Aniston tells the newest issue of Elle.

"If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. I'm at peace with whatever the plan is. But will you hate me if I say I don't want to talk about my relationship?"

While the actress remains mum about Justin Theroux and whether the two are getting married, she did reveal a hot-tempered run-in she had on set.

"I threw a chair at a director," the 42-year-old admitted.

"It wasn't my proudest moment. He was treating a script supervisor horribly ... When the director walked in, I threw a chair at him. I missed, of course."

"I was like, 'You can’t speak to people like that.' I can’t tolerate it."

Wow. We wouldn't want to see her go ballistic on Brad Pitt.

HUGE news, people: Jennifer Aniston is totally pregnant, according to OK! Magazine.

This is totally true, except for the part where she is not pregnant. Or getting a ring.

As fall begins chilling the New York City air, writes the celebrity news source, "Aniston has swapped her tank tops for jackets, scarves and peacoats as she walks hand in hand - while smiling ear to ear - with beau Justin Theroux."

If peacoats don't tell you she's preggers, we don't know what will!!

Other "evidence" to support this BS cover story? New Jennifer Aniston pictures allegedly showing a change from her svelte physique to a curvier, more buxom shape.

There's even "the suggestion of a bulge around the belly." The suggestion.

Tongues are wagging, at least according to this report. But is Jennifer Aniston pregnant, for real, at age 42? We would bet heavily, very heavily even, that she's not.

However ... “She hasn’t announced it, but all her friends seem to think it finally happened,” an insider says. “Whenever anyone hints around the question, Jen gets really giggly and shy. It certainly has all of her friends buzzing!”

You never know. What we do know is that Brad Pitt is so glad it's not his.

OMGOMG. Jennifer Aniston is totally getting a ring. Gasp.

That sounds awesome, but is it really a sign of an engagement to Justin Theroux? Or just more carefully-worded editorial brilliance from the desk at In Touch?

We'd say there's a 99.99 percent chance it's the latter.

The tabloids are having a field day lately, with Aniston in an actual, loving relationship and Pitt somehow running his mouth about her - non-flatteringly at that.

At this point, a report that Justin Theroux threatened Brad Pitt seems almost believable. So the idea of them getting engaged has taken on an air of inevitability.

Slow down, though. Moving in together and getting married are two different things (just look at Brad). And no matter how "unique" and "meaningful" this alleged ring is, there's absolutely no proof it came from Justin, or that it even exists.

Kind of a strange call by In Touch on this week's cover. Why not lead with your alleged worldwide exclusive that Jessica Simpson is pregnant? Makes no sense.

Justin Theroux, Jennifer Aniston's boyfriend is reportedly far from pleased with Brad Pitt and his recent comments about the actress. That much is probably true.

Threatening Brad over them, as In Touch reports? Probably not.

This one's all on Pitt, though. Had he not mused at length about how dull life with Jen was and how he only pretended to be happy in their marriage - context, schmontext, he said it - this would never be on a tabloid cover:

Is Angelina still fueling the fire? LOOK at her - of course (not)!

If you believe this celebrity gossip magazine, Justin called Brad a "wimp" and warned him he'd better shut his yap. Somehow we doubt there was any "showdown."

We don't doubt that Jen went ballistic when she read her ex-husband's quotes in Parade, or that her new man took exception. But the two camps being at war?

Not likely, given the lengths to which Aniston goes to NOT be dragged into stuff like this. Of course, it's more realistic than 90 percent of the stuff written about her ...

Despite attempting to clarify himself once already, Brad Pitt again tried to quiet the PR storm he created with his apparent diss of Jennifer Aniston in Parade.

In a sitdown with Matt Lauer on Today, the Moneyball star addressed the controversy arising from the interview in which he - intentionally or not - made Jen out to look like a dull bore he was pretending to be happy with.

What did he have to say for himself this morning?

"I've been told about the reaction," he said. "I don't know what was pieced together or put together. All I know is that my point was, the best thing I'd done as a father is be sure my children have a good mother."

"That's all I was, or am, trying to say. It has no reference to the past."

"And I think it's a shame that I can't say something nice about Angie without Jen being drug into it. You know, she just doesn't deserve it."

They also have absolutely no interest in having their personal life serve as public fodder, which has been the case for about 10 years running.

For a notoriously private guy, Brad Pitt surprisingly opened up a can of worms with his comments about his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston in Parade magazine.

Remarks the actress and her camp are said to have "gone ballistic" over.

Regardless of the Moneyball star's intentions, saying he wasn't leading an interesting or fulfilling life pre-Angelina Jolie, and that he was "trying to pretend my marriage was something that it wasn't" reated a PR firestorm.

How did the former Mrs. Pitt react? "She was annoyed," a pal close to the Horrible Bosses star says. "She thought that it was rude and inappropriate."

Team Aniston angrily reached out to Pitt's representatives, according to Us Weekly, and "They got his team involved and Brad was read the riot act."

Within 24 hours, Pitt had surprisingly released a statement clarifying and lamenting the pretend marriage comment while praising his former spouse.

Jen "is an incredibly giving, loving and hilarious woman," Brad swears.

Still, the Pitt source says, despite his claims that it was all spun wrong, "no one believes his words were taken out of context - he said what he said."

Why say that in any context? Yhough Pitt is clearly happy with Angelina Jolie and their kids, "We think he's jealous [Jen's] in love," the source says.

Moneyball star Brad Pitt may have managed an epic, rare feat. Enraging and humiliating both his ex-wife and his life partner with one series of quotes.

Talking about one's pretend marriage to Jennifer Aniston will do that.

How bad has it gotten? “Brad is in deep trouble with both Jen and Angelina” an insider tells OK! in this week’s issue, for what it's worth (very, very little).

At issue is Brad's interview with Parade, which he began with self-deprecation. Talking about himself 10-12 years ago, he called himself a “pathetic” slacker, “sitting on a couch, holding a joint…. I wasn’t living an interesting life.”

All well and good. Until ...

“I think that my marriage [to Jennifer] had something to do with it," he added. "I was trying to pretend the marriage was something it wasn’t.”

Jen, who famously said Brad was missing “a sensitivity chip,” may have been proven right here, despite Brad's attempts to clarify the comment.

Brad Pitt is in full-fledged movie promotion mode, but still finds himself fielding questions about his personal life - specifically select comments he made last week regarding his pretend marriage to Jennifer Aniston.

"That was never my intention for it to be spun that way," he said of those who interpreted his remarks that way, insisting it wasn't what he meant.

"People read things into it that just weren't there."

Saying he once used film to fill a void in his life, Pitt told Parade last week:

"It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself."

"I think that my marriage had something to do with it," he says, noting that he was "trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."

While we certainly don't think Brad meant to overtly slam Jen, it's also easy to understand how someone could interpret it as such. Tough one.

However he may have meant it, there's no arguing that critics and fans are eagerly anticipating his new film Moneyball, opening this weekend.

In a new interview with Parade, Brad Pitt briefly discusses his failed marriage to Jennifer Aniston, with one quote in particular raising eyebrows.

Saying he tried to use movies to fill a void in his personal existence, Pitt says "It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself."

Ouch. And it gets worse:

"I think that my marriage had something to do with it," he says, noting that he was "trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."

He adds that nowadays, "I'm satisfied with making true choices and finding the woman I love, Angie, and building a family that I love so much."

If that sounded harsh to you, get in line. Brad's also in that line, contacting E! News through his rep to explain that he didn't mean it like that.
