Rielle Hunter: Cheating on John Edwards with Jeff Goldblum?

John Edwards is a bad person. He knocked up some weird videographer while married to his lovely, cancer-stricken wife, the mother of his three children.

He then tried to lie his way out of this, engaging in a huge cover-up potentially aided by funds donated to his campaign for President of the United States.

That's hard to top, but perhaps what goes around comes around. At the same time Rielle Hunter was doing him, she too was reportedly having an affair ...

... with Jeff Goldblum!

The Law & Order: Criminal Intent star met Rielle in 2006 at the Playhouse West acting school and repertory theater in N. Hollywood, where he teaches.

"Jeff said he was in love," a source says, and at this point, you can't discredit anything. "They were extremely close - totally, 100 percent, a major item."

Jeff and RielleDear John Edwards ...

This is the weirdest love triangle ever.

They were so serious that when the blonde nut job got pregnant in 2007, Jeff naturally assumed the baby was his - and Rielle Hunter even led him on.

“He asked her,” says the source. “She'd only say, 'Maybe.' She kept him guessing."

THG NOTE: Why the hell would anyone get involved with Rielle Hunter?

When it clear he was not the dad, Jeff, who now dates Tania Raymonde (a.k.a. Ben's daughter on Lost) ended the affair. Rielle was hardly heartbroken.

“Rielle really didn’t care that she lost Jeff,” says a source close to the bat$h!t crazy woman. “She knew he was just a fling. She cared more for John.”

And his $18,000 a month in child support.

Not to worry, Jeff. Even if you did sleep with Rielle, at least you used protection or got lucky, and regardless, this rumor doesn't involve you being dead.

Jeff Goldblum Dead? Not So Much!

News of Michael Jackson's death took the world by storm yesterday afternoon. Amid the chaos, rumors began surfacing that Jeff Goldblum also passed away.

The actor is alive and well.

Various sites cited an erroneous report coming out of New Zealand that the actor, 56, plunged to his demise during a fall on the set of his newest movie.

Turns out that was a hoax.

"Reports that Jeff Goldblum has passed away are completely untrue. He is fine and in Los Angeles," the actor's publicist Lisa Kasteler said.

Investigating what appears to be a cruel joke, New Zealand police are saying that there appears to be false information circulating - an understatement considering that they haven't even heard anything about Goldblum shooting a film in the country.

So, Goldblum, who's now starring on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, is fine. Glad we cleared that up. You should check him out on that show, he's good!

Stalking News: Jeff Goldblum Files Restraining Order

Our counterparts at TMZ have learned that actor Jeff Goldblum has filed a restraining order against a 44-year-old woman, claiming that she has shown up to his house "unannounced and uninvited 20 times in the past month and over 50 times in the last three months."

Stalk This, Bitch!

In court documents regarding the stalking, filed yesterday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Goldblum claims a woman has:

"Sent harassing and threatening letters, stalked me at various locations, physically attacked my employee and accosted me."

No word on whether the alleged stalker is friends with Naomi Campbell.

According to the documents, Linda Ransom (who, we have to say, has a great name for a crazy stalker) met Goldblum at an acting school in L.A. where Goldblum teaches.

She then began showing up at various locations where he performed with his jazz band, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra.

In a statement included in the court documents, Ransom offered the explanation that she was just trying to get Goldblum to "support my efforts to complete my research and screenplay as accurate [sic] as possible."

Riiight. That's what we told the cops before Kristin Cavallari got a restraining order on us. We know from experience, Linda, that you've gotta do a lot better than that.

This just goes to show that it's not just the beautiful young starlets like Hilary Duff who have to deal with stalking. Established, but lower-profile acting stars like Goldblum and Drake Hogestyn have to cope with wackos too.
