As a member of the Yankees, Robinson Cano has been in a New York State of mind since his breakout rookie season of 2006.

But the All-Star second baseman took that to a new level today, dropping uber agent Scott Boras and becoming the first athlete to sign up with Roc Nation Sports, an agency headed by Jay-Z.

"At this point in my career, I am ready to take a more active role in my endeavors on and off the field," Cano said in a statement.

"I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short and long-term goals. I am making this important decision now so I can keep my focus on helping the Yankees succeed in 2013, while minimizing any distractions for me and my teammates."

Jay-Z has millions of fans across the world.

Sadly, Paul Anka is no longer one of them.

The famed singer-songwriter of hit songs including "Diana," "My Way," and "Lonely Boy," Anka had harsh words for Jay-Z in a recent interview with TMZ.

Seriously. This is a real story.

"I called up Jay-Z because he did a track of 'My Way' where I loaned him the track," Anka, 71, explained about his plans for an upcoming Duets album.

With a Beyonce world tour already announced, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake have now confirmed they will also be criss-crossing the United States in just a few months.

Billed as the Legends of the Summer Stadium Tour, tickets go on sale to the general public February 28. Others may be available sooner via Facebook promotions.

They may not have won our Tournament of THG: Couples Edition, but Beyonce and Jay-Z are very much in the running for cutest celebrity couple. Ever.

Take notice, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev. The bar is set high. Case in point: Any number of scenes from Bey's Life is But a Dream documentary.

One particularly touching moment from the special? Beyonce and Jay-Z singing Coldplay’s “Yellow,” written by their close friend Chris Martin, to each other.

The occasion? Learning she was pregnant with Blue Ivy.

The HBO film shows footage of a sonogram, her growing bump and Beyonce bikini photos (tasteful ones of course), but the mutual serenade really stands out.

Fresh off a performance at the Grammys and the release of another track ("Mirrors") off his upcoming album ("The 20/20 Experience"), Timberlake has now come out with the official video for "Suit & Tie."

It features the sot of dance moves we've grown to expect and love from JT, along with an appearance by Mr. Beyonce himself, Jay-Z!

Jay-Z dropped the zinger of the night on The-Dream at the Grammy Awards Sunday night, turning a quick acceptance speech into an LOL moment.

After Frank Ocean and Terius "The-Dream" Nash accepted the award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration ("No Church in the Wild"), Jay-Z leaned in:

"I want to thank the swap meet for his hat," the rapper said into the mic, mocking Nash's thoroughly absurd headgear and drawing roars from the crowd.

Earlier last night, Jay-Z made an appearance on stage during Justin Timberlake's Grammy performance, rapping with his "Suit and Tie" collaborator.

This may have been his top moment of the evening, though.

It's safe to say that Justin Timberlake is back and better than ever.

He showed zero rust after taking seven years off from music to focus on his acting career, wowing the 2013 Grammy Awards crowd with a six-minute performance.

Dressed to kill in a tux and accompanied by a horn section, JT belted out his new hit “Suit and Tie” - with a little help from Jay-Z - and flashed his signature moves:

Amanda Bynes is back in the news, for even more random and head-scratching reasons than usual. She took a shot at Jay-Z of all people, amazingly.

The troubled 26-year-old posted a Tweet reading "ugly face" and then linking to a photo of the rap mogul ... then deleted it from her feed a bit later.

Could Amanda Bynes' Twitter account have been hacked? Or did she simply share a random thought about Jay-Z before she thought better of it?

Probably the latter.
