Jason Mesnick The Bachelor

In his weekly blog for EW, host Chris Harrison defended his show and vaguely denied some of the bombshell Bachelor spoilers that have rattled the show's fans.

The charge? That ABC conspired with Bachelor star Jason Mesnick to d!ck over Melissa Rycroft, with him proposing to her on the season finale only to dump her later for runner-up Molly Malaney, creating "shocking" aftermath footage.

The supposed evidence? A second "After the Final Rose" special scheduled to air Tuesday - after Monday's two-hour finale and first "After the Final Rose" special - and some classic misdirection possibly planned by ABC all season long.

Basically, Harrison denies it was all a set-up, but is purposely vague as far as whether the purported season-ending scenario involving Melissa Rycroft, Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, as alleged by a certain reality TV blogger, are accurate.

Here are excerpts of Chris' blog (written Saturday) ...

"As much as I'm sorry that some of you have somehow found a reason to doubt my integrity and honesty, there's not a whole hell of a lot I can do about that.

If something you may have heard or seen from somebody you don't know has suddenly changed your opinion of me then is there really anything I could say or do that could change your mind anyway? I learned a long time ago (15 years of marriage) to pick my battles and this, my friends, is one I don't care to fight.

The Bachelor producers ... are not responsible for, nor have we ever scripted, the ending of this show. Let me re-type this slowly so all of you can read this:

We do not, and have not, decided the ending of any of our seasons.

Let's be honest, if we did that, don't you think we would do a much better job and have a much higher success rate?

Fans may remember Jesse Csincsak as Jason Mesnick's erstwhile rival for the love of DeAnna Pappas on The Bachelorette. Below are excerpts from a new interview Jesse recently gave in which he sounds off on Jason's starring turn on The Bachelor ...

Q: First of all, from the Women Tell All special, I don't know if we heard right, but are you in a new relationship?

Jesse Csincsak: Yes, I'm dating Holly Durst from the previous season of The Bachelor. I'm psyched. She's super-cute and very outgoing and fun to be with.

Q: So, how did you guys get together?

Jesse Csincsak: We were actually at a party at Les Deux in California, and I was actually still in my previous relationship. And everybody got introduced. Holly had some interest in going to grad school in Boulder, Colorado. Once I wasn't in a relationship anymore, I shot her a text message and said, “Hey, you know, if you still are looking for a tour of Boulder and the college, I'd love to go down there with you.” She ended up coming out and going snowboarding, and it's all history from there.

Q: I don't know if you've been reading the blogs, but there are huge potential Bachelor spoilers buzzing around about the end of this season ...

Jesse Csincsak: You know, every year, there's always somebody that comes out of the woodwork saying, “Oh, I know what happens.” And, you know, it's their claim to fame. My view on that is, hey, no matter what the outcome is, as long as Jason finds his true love, for him and Ty, more power to him. You know, I don't care what he has to do to be in love. I think there's people on this planet that would kill to be in love. So, I mean, you can't hate on the guy.

Tonight's episode of The Bachelor features two hours of behind-the-scenes drama and hot-seat interviews with Jason Mesnick and more than a dozen vanquished women, including Jillian Harris, from this 13th season of the reality show.

Given The Bachelor spoilers everyone is talking about, this should be an interesting prelude to the "shocking" and "intimate" season finale(s) next week.

The Internets are buzzing over The Bachelor spoilers from a blogger who seems to be at least somewhat in the know, and who adamantly claims the ABC reality hit's producers rigged this entire season - right from the beginning.

In this Bachelor spoiler bombshell is to be believed, single dad Jason Mesnick picks Melissa Rycroft on the March 2 finale, but after the proposal to the former NFL cheerleader, he secretly continues to date runner-up Molly Malaney.

The "shocking" details will supposedly be revealed at the "After the Final Rose" special airing immediately after the season finale, with a second "After The Final Rose, Part 2" special now on tap to air the next night, March 3.

An ABC rep would not confirm these rumors, except to say that the finale has been taped, and that both "After The Rose" specials are still in production.

But The Bachelor host Chris Harrison said at the end of last Monday's episode that the developments were so shocking, producers kept the cameras rolling.

So does Molly Malaney really end up with Jason Mesnick, or is this prescient blogger just making stuff up to get hits on his site (it's working if so)?

For whatever it's worth, a writer from her hometown Grand Rapids Press says The Bachelor conspiracy theory posited by "Reality Steve" makes sense in part.

"I think this might actually have something to it, because this theory, that Jason chooses Melissa, only to change his mind and later choose Molly, actually lines up with what my sources have been saying," opines Lorilee Craker.

"Three sources who know [Molly Malaney] and have stayed in touch with her since the show started have said she probably doesn't win, from what they can gather, but that she has told them all the experience was 'life changing.'"

"I also think the fact that there is a second 'After the Rose' special is odd, and also seems to give a more weight to this theory. I've also heard that Molly has been making trips to L.A. 'for work,' which would corroborate this as well."

The Bachelor producers don't lie about it, but they conveniently forget to mention that its hunky, fan-favorite star, Jason Mesnick, is divorced.

Since his 2006 split from Hilary Buckholz-Monrean (formerly Hilary Mesnick), Jason has raised their three-year-old son, Ty, as a single father.

Little is known about the ex-Mrs. Jason Mesnick, but she apparently was in a music video for Seattle rock band Out From Underneath in summer 2007.

The strange thing? One scene shows Hilary taking off a wedding ring and hurling it at her love interest. It lands on a bed of red rose petals.

Will you accept this rose? STEP OFF!

The celebrity gossip world is buzzing over The Bachelor spoilers claiming Jason Mesnick chooses Melissa Rycroft in New Zealand, only to dump her for Molly Malaney on the "After the Final Rose" special immediately following the finale.

Perhaps Jillian Harris should be glad she's no longer involved.

The 29-year-old Canadian cutie was a Bachelor front-runner from the first night, but ultimately Mesnick decided they weren’t meant to be more than friends.

The restaurant designer talked to reporters from her home in Vancouver about the moment she fell for Jason, her infamous hot dog theory and much more ...

Q: Fans of the show were surprised when Jason did not give you a rose. Were you?

Jillian Harris: I was surprised. It is a unique situation. No matter how hard you’re falling for somebody, you always wonder if it is for real and if he’s the one. You have questions in your mind and heart, but when he let me go, I was sincerely disappointed.

Q: You said on the show that you had fallen in love with Jason. In hindsight, is that true?

Jillian Harris: On a scale of one to ten, would he be a ten for what I’m looking for? Maybe not. But of all the men I have dated in my life, he possessed the most qualities that I was looking for. I still love him but I don’t think I am in love with him anymore. It’s like any other breakup. You have to heal yourself. You have to get over it and move on and hope the best for the person.

Q: You had a hot date in New Zealand. Why do you think Jason didn’t think it would progress into more than friends?

Jillian Harris: That’s the million-dollar question. We had so many different levels that our relationship, from being friends to being great partners and understanding each other. Then in New Zealand, I thought we had that spark. I seemed to fit into his life and we had so much in common. I felt like we had the components to make it work.

As we talked about last week, The Bachelor finale will air Monday, March 2 from 8-10 p.m., followed by the standard “After the Final Rose” special from 10-11.

Then, as Bachelor host-pimp Chris Harrison said on Monday night's episode, there will be a second "After the Final Rose: Part 2" special on Tuesday, March 3.

Why a second special in an "intimate" setting after a "shocking" finale?

The Bachelor spoilers below may shock you. They may appall you. They may thrill you. In any case, people will be talking about this potentially epic conspiracy theory.

If you do not wish to read The Bachelor season finale spoilers, turn back now.

A dude who calls himself Reality Steve, and says he has inside information on good authority, claims the following events happen as The Bachelor season concludes:

• The promo that supposedly shows Jason Mesnick proposing to Melissa Rycroft - "given away" by her pinky ring and freckles - was real (and released on purpose). Jason chose Melissa in New Zealand. No editing. 

• However, right now, Jason and Melissa are not together. Moreover ...

• At some point between the proposal in New Zealand and the taping of the first "After the Final Rose" special, Jason began secretly dating Molly Malaney.

• The first "After the Final Rose" special was filmed on January 18, rather than the week before the finale airs, as is the show's custom. In that hour, Jason ends his engagement with Melissa, and announces his relationship with Molly. 

• The reason the second "After the Final Rose" special was added is to tell us Jason and Molly's story. Whether there is a marriage proposal involved is still anyone's guess, but the special will update us on their relationship.

All we can say is: O.M.G. Now that would be something.
