Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, one of the most controversial (and successful) couples in the history of The Bachelor, are getting married in just over a month.

ABC will be televising it in a two-hour special.

Luisana Loreley Lopilato de la Torre and Michael Buble

The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding, will air Monday, March 8. We're fairly sure that's one week after the current season finale, which would make sense.

The big wedding special for Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney will also show the bride's dress fitting, planning for the day, bachelor/bachelorette parties, etc.

Past participants of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette will be on hand, which probably goes with the territory when Mike Fleiss gets to plan your nuptials.

The Bachelor's 0-13 marriage steak is about to come to an end! Well, technically not, as Molly Malaney didn't receive Jason Mesnick's final rose ... but close enough!

The Bachelor wedding is only the second such event in the franchise's 19 seasons. The Bachelorette star Trista Rehn married Ryan Sutter on TV in 2003.

Jason proposed to Molly Malaney in New Zealand, the site of the infamous March 2009 season finale where he initially chose Melissa Rycroft instead of her.

He soon broke up with Melissa and asked Molly for another chance on the After the Final Rose special. She said yes, and they got engaged in October.

Mesnick first became a franchise fixture as runner-up on DeAnna Pappas' edition of The Bachelorette. He then became The Bachelor's first single dad.

Jason Mesnick couldn't bear the thought of guys fighting over Molly Malaney on ABC's The Bachelorette. Fortunately, she gave up that dream for him. And love.

In a new interview with Us, Jason says that a week after his ill-fated proposal to Melissa Rycroft on The Bachelor, show producers started inquiring about Molly.

Malaney-Mesnick Wedding

"They kept asking me if I thought Molly would make a good Bachelorette," he said. "I realized I was not willing to let Molly go and have 25 guys fight over her."

Fortunately, Molly turned down that possibility, and Jason got it right the second time, receiving a second chance and ultimately a "yes" to marriage proposal.

Molly and Jason just got engaged in New Zealand.

With Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney now engaged, the controversial ending of The Bachelor last season now looks like it was for the best. As for Rycroft?

"Melissa is a great girl, but there wasn't any chemistry," Jason says of why he dumped her. "I broke up with her after Christmas, a month after we wrapped."

Don't feel too bad for Melissa, though. She made the finals of Dancing with the Stars and is now engaged herself, to Dallas insurance agent Tye Strickland!

Jason also adds that he and Melissa had already split in private, despite the appearance on the "After the Final Rose" special. But Molly Malaney wasn't aware.

Mesnick was contractually prohibited from contacting her until The Bachelor aired. "At that point, she would have started filming The Bachelorette!" he recalls.

ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL: Jason Mesnick's post-Bachelor switcheroo landed him in hot water with the viewing public, but everyone came out of it for the better.

Thus, it was the "After the Final Rose" taping that provided the less than ideal, but first available opportunity to rekindle things with Molly and win her back.

"Obviously, I didn't want it on TV, but I had to take the chance if it meant getting her back," Jason said. "I would rather have picked up the phone, trust me!"

Of Melissa Rycroft, Jason says she was also offered a chance to be the next Bachelorette star (Jillian Harris was ultimately chosen) and he wishes her the best.

His attention is now fully on the future with Molly and his five-year-old son Ty, however. We hope he can expect some little brothers and sisters before long.

From the moment he got engaged to Melissa Rycroft on the season finale of The Bachelor, Jason Mesnick knew he and Molly Malaney would be together forever.

That sounds bizarre, but it's actually true.

Under Her Umbrella. Ella. Ella. Eh. Eh. Eh.

Following his famous "After the Final Rose" switcheroo in March, Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney have as happy as clams and talking about getting hitched.

He still caught his true love off guard by placing a diamond and platinum ring in a glass of champagne and passing it to her Monday in New Zealand, however.

"Molly was very surprised; she hadn't expected it to happen then, even though we knew it was a matter of time," her dad Mike told The Grand Rapids Press.

"She was real excited. It was a short conversation, and they hadn't made any plans yet. We just found out ourselves, so this is all breaking very rapidly."

Jason Mesnick asked Molly Malaney's parents for their blessing first.

"Jason called us before the proposal," the Michigan native's father said. "He sent Molly out to get her nails done, and he said he wanted to run it by us first."

Despite the controversial Bachelor finale and the unusual courtship the two had, Mike Malaney is all for it: "We've already determined that he’s a good guy."

He says that Molly Malaney, a 25-year-old fashion buyer for Kohl's, moved to Seattle - where Mesnick lives with five-year-old son Ty - "about a month ago."

"They're just enjoying being together," a source says of the cute couple.

They've yet to set a date. But when they do, it will be a joyous one.

After one of the most memorable courtships in reality TV history, The Bachelor cuties Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney got engaged last week.

Jason wanted to pick the picture-perfect setting.

The two returned to New Zealand, where he had first picked Melissa Rycroft on The Bachelor season finale (a decision he subsequently reversed).

Jason and Molly stayed at the lakefront Eichardt’s Private Hotel in Queenstown, a property ringed by picturesque white-capped peaks and views.

The big moment for Mesnick and Malaney took place on at the Kohara Lodge, an environmentally friendly house on the banks of the Shotover River.

That's when Jason delivered a diamond and platinum ring (from Chris Harrison and the kind people at ABC a jeweler in his hometown of Seattle).

The Bachelor's Molly Malaney and Jason Mesnick are engaged!

He placed it in a glass of champagne and passed it to Molly Malaney - after setting the timer on his camera to capture the scene for posterity. Swoon.

This time, at least, they were alone. On a previous romantic outing to the picturesque Milford Sound, their romantic picnic ended up being crashed.

A Kea, a rare alpine parrot native to New Zealand, flew down on the couple’s picnic blanket and nibbled on the champagne bottle. Think it's a sign?

Of what, we have no idea. But the smitten pair took it in stride, as always, and even got a photo of their uninvited guest (which you can see below).

No word on whether their awesome new feathered friend will be invited to the wedding, or if anyone on The Hollywood Gossip staff will be either.

Regardless, we couldn't be happier for the couple. We just feel bad for Jake Pavelka. No way he's going to be able to top this true love story.

Last spring on The Bachelor, Jason Mesnick sent Molly Malaney home on an emotional season finale, popping the question to Melissa Rycroft instead.

But on the show's "After the Final Rose" special, he famously had a change of heart, breaking up with Melissa and asking Molly for a second chance.

She was shocked, but giddily accepted.

That sums up Molly's reaction to Jason's most recent request as well. He asked her to marry him and she said yes. Jason and Molly are engaged!

According to People, Jason got down on one knee in New Zealand last week, the same nation where The Bachelor finale was filmed last winter.

Molly Malaney will soon be the newest Mrs. Jason Mesnick!

Since the controversial Bachelor ending, which resulted in serious backlash against Mesnick (Molly Malaney did nothing wrong, but Jason's national TV dispatching of Melissa was scrutinized), the two have kept a very low profile.

They've also been doing the distance thing, with her living in Milwaukee and him in Seattle with his son, Ty, from his first marriage to ex-wife Hillary.

But we suspect they'll be moving in together, likely in Seattle, quite soon, now that Jason Mesnick has officially asked for Molly's hand in marriage.

The couple just returned on vacation to the site of Jason’s ill-fated first choice so that “Jason can do what he should have done in the last time he was here, and ask Molly to marry him,” says a source close to the lovebirds.

Congratulations to the couple! Click to enlarge more photos:

Who says reality shows can't have happy endings?!?

Just five months ago, Jillian Harris was a woman dumped, Molly Malaney was a woman hated and Melissa Rycroft was a woman scorned. Now?

Jillian is moving in with Ed Swiderski; Molly is in a committed, solid relationship with Jason Mesnick; and Melissa is engaged, as well as thrilled for both her former competitors on The Bachelor.

When asked by Chris Harris on last night's After the Final Rose special on ABC, Rycroft had one simple answer about whether Mesnick chose the right mate in Malaney: "Yes."

Bachelorette Jillian Harris

It took many (or, really, just a few) months, but Melissa Rycroft, Molly Malaney and Jillian Harris have all found love.

Pressed about her infamous public dumping in March, Melissa admitted that it was tough.

"It's not easy being that person. It's hard to be that person because on one hand, there's the embarrassment factor. The other times that it happened in my life, it was private and I could cope privately," Rycroft told viewers. "This was very public. Everybody saw the hurt and they saw the crying, but it's definitely been something I’ve embraced and love, because my friends, family, everybody back home was right there to help me."

In the end, she added: "I think what everybody saw was one of the best things that has happened to me in my life."

Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney are heading back to New Zealand.

Minus camera crews, a diamond ring and Melissa Rycroft this time.

Air New Zealand has invited the controversial but happy couple from ABC's The Bachelor on the world's first "Matchmaking Flight." Yes, we're serious.

The promotional gimmick will take place October 13 journey, when passengers can board an Air New Zealand flight from Los Angeles to Auckland and chat with Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney (while mingling with other singles of course).

Those who book online by July 15, can make this flight starting at $580. To book online and access the hot discount, travelers are invited to upload an online dating profile and then enter a promotion code when booking the Matchmaking Flight.

Passengers on this very special matchmaking flight will get to attend a send-off party at the gate in Los Angeles. The flight will be filled with matchmaking advice from Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, an open bar, and speed dating.

Once in Auckland, travelers may choose to attend a matchmaking ball at SKYCITY Convention Center, which will also be attended by single New Zealanders.

“Molly and I fell in love with New Zealand on The Bachelor," Jason Mesnick said in a statement. "It’s truly the most romantic place on Earth."

"We can’t wait to return to the scenery and hospitality and hope all the Matchmaking Flight singles have as much success as we did in finding one another.”

Jason actually "found" Melissa Rycroft there, only to break things off with her and start dating Molly back in the U.S., but we'll let them run with that.

Semantics aside, Molly and Jason are going strong and seem very much in love. Is an engagement in the works? "Definitely, someday," Jason says.

This is a few days old by now, but due to the enormous interest in the couple who ended up together on last season's The Bachelor, we're posting it anyway.

Not only are Molly Malaney and Jason Mesnick still a couple - as they proved last week on Good Morning America - they seem happier than ever together.

As the founder of Jason's Place, an organization for single parents, Jason (with Molly's help) encouraged families to spend July 4 together in a cute video.

Here are Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney sharing some old Fourth of July memories at the same time they make new ones together. They are so sweet ...

We can only hope that by this time next year, Jillian Harris and Kiptyn Locke are posting cute July 4 videos together online. Or maybe Jillian and Ed Swiderski ...

As we reported yesterday, The Bachelor's Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney gave an interview on Good Morning America this morning on ABC.

In the two minutes of their interview not devoted to replaying The Bachelor season finale or plugging J-Mes' single parent web community Jason's Place, we learned the following pieces of information from the cute couple ...

  • Molly has dyed her hair darker and straightened it. She looks great!
  • Jason admits he "did a terrible thing" dumping Melissa Rycroft on TV.
  • He has not spoken to Melissa Rycroft since rumors emerged that their breakup was scripted - who would have ever imagined that.
  • Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney still live in different cities (Seattle and Milwaukee) but get together at least every other weekend.
  • Molly Malaney is getting along well with Jason's four-year-old son, Ty.
  • Asked if they're getting married, Jason said "absolutely, someday."

In other words, don't hold your breath, but they're happy!

Quite a week for the stars of the most recent season of The Bachelor:

  • Melissa Rycroft got engaged to Tye Strickland.
  • Jillian Harris narrowed her collection of suitors to four, while some intriguing Bachelorette spoilers are surfacing as the season winds down.
  • Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, who ended up together after a finale in which he first chose Rycroft, will be on Good Morning America.

Interestingly, Melissa Rycroft recently signed on as a special contributor for Good Morning America. No word on whether she'll also be on the show Thursday.

Jason and Molly Wedding

For Jason and Molly, who are still together and happy as ever, it's been a (thankfully) low-key last couple of months since the season finale of The Bachelor.

If you recall, Jason got engaged to Melissa, then broke up with her, and began dating Molly. This unfolded on The Bachelor's "After the Final Rose" special.

Fans were enraged at this, even though the breakup of Jason Mesnick and Melissa Rycroft took place before the special, but he and Molly stayed strong.

Content to fly under the radar this spring after a high-profile courtship on The Bachelor, Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney have spent time in both Seattle and Milwaukee, where they respectively live, and took a nice Turks and Caicos vacation.

Could an engagement be in the works soon?

Maybe they'll have some big news to reveal tomorrow. Either way, it will be great to hear what these two have been up to. We think they're a great couple.
