She's a 16-year old contestant on the eighth season of American Idol. She originally auditioned for the show in Jacksonville, Florida.
Murray sang "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie and received a nod from all for judges that she was Hollywood-bound. Jasmine was anointed as a Wild Card on season eight and advanced to the finals after a strong, second semifinal performance. She was one of the first contestants eliminated after making it that far.
She's a high school student from Starkville, Mississippi.
