On A&E's Duck Dynasty Season 6 Episode 6, Jase and company "debugged" the family duck blinds, while CEO Willie tried to teach the kids about business.

Because it always beats working, Jase took some of the guys from Duck Commander on a search for crawfish ... inside the duck blinds on the family land.

Jase loves crawfish almost as much as he loves frogs, so he's willing to go to great lengths to acquire them, despite what you might call occupational hazards.

John Godwin went into a blind and encountered a gator - one that was "Godzilla big, like a bull,” he said - but which Willie removed with his bare hands.

Godwin exaggerations aside, it was thus time to debug the blinds, or in layman's terms, clean them the heck out so there are no critters living in there.

Being a duck hunter, Jase explains is not what the public makes it out to be or what you would simply assume if you watch Duck Dynasty online.

It's serious effort, with a lot of preparation, tedious tasks and Jase's equivalent of paperwork - cleaning out the blinds. Still beats actual paperwork, Jase.

The Duck Dynasty clan is back in the news this week for reasons outside of their A&E reality show, only this time, there's no controversy involved.

They are in the nation’s capital taking on a new issue: public health.

Mia Robertson, Family

If you watch Duck Dynasty, you know that Mia Roberston, 10, the daughter of Jase and Missy Robertson, was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate.

She had her final corrective surgery in January, and the family started the Mia Moo Fund to raise awareness and money for research and treatment of the birth defect.

Mia and her parents spoke alongside Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ), also born with a cleft lip and palate, in front of the Capitol Tuesday about the foundation.

“As the Robertson family, we don’t back away from any challenges,” said Missy of her daughter and so many other children born with cleft lips or palates.

On A&E's Duck Dynasty Season 6 Episode 5, the gang seriously considered revamping the Duck Commander logo, crazy as that might sound to fans.

The motto "if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it," applies to many things in life, and the Robertson family certainly embraces it with its emphasis on family and tradition.

Yet CEO Willie put it in everybody's heads that he wants to hire someone to design a snazzy new Duck Commander symbol to reinvigorate the brand.

The flying duck has been the main image of the Robertson’s family business since 1972, when the Duck Commander himself, Phil Robertson, founded it.

Ultimately, despite Jase Robertson and the guys getting a little carried away in response to the idea, the logo change is scuttled and everyone is happy.

Things turned serious on Duck Dynasty Season 6 Episode 4.

Kind of. Sort of. At least when compared to the many poop jokes made on Duck Dynasty Season 6 Episode 3.

On the latest installment of this A&E smash, Duck Commander hosted a pancake breakfast to support the West Monroe fire department, as learned that Willie once gave the police chief an "atomic wedgie” and that Si has an interesting pancake-eating system.

"My first stack was four; second stack was six. This one is seven. I cannot eat it uneven. It's out of balance," explained the latter.

Police Chief Chuckles (real name!) then sets Willie, Jase and Jep up to learn about fighting fires for an afternoon.

On last night's Duck Dynasty Season 6 Episode 3, fan favorite Mountain Man made an appearance, while Jep's daughter Lily has her first boyfriend.

Mountain Man, Willie and Korie's slow-talking, jack-of-all-trades neighbor, is doing a "hands-on" event for the radio show that Willie and Si went on.

To play: Everyone keeps a hand on an object and the last person standing wins it. Willie spends $1,000 to "help the community." MM buys a wood chipper.

Si decides he's going to compete, as does Willie, and despite what you think you might know of Si if you watch Duck Dynasty online, he can hold it.

If he needs to. Even whilst consuming about a gallon of tea.

Meanwhile, Jep's girl is growing up and despite his reservations, dad tags along on a mini-golf date with the awkward elementary school couple.

John Daniel (J.D.) even brings flowers. Pretty cute stuff.

He's also a hunter, which further wins over Jep, and speaking of winning, Willie ... gets tricked by Jase into letting go of the wood chipper. Si FTW?!

Duck Dynasty is back to stir more controversy (or mostly just good family fun, as the controversy seems to revolve around issues outside the show) on A&E.

On Duck Dynasty Season 6 Episode 1, Willie Robertson received an award from Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a longtime, vocal supporter of the reality series.

Willie’s son John Luke was to introduce Jindal at an awards ceremony at Duck Commander, if he stops farting long enough to finish his speech that is.

At the Duck Commander warehouse, Godwin, Martin, Jase, Si, and Jep are busy making duck calls, and by that we obviously mean playing basketball.

Willie is not amused, or probably surprised.

At Phil Robertson and Miss Kay’s house, she is modeling outfits that she wants to wear for the event, until Sadie and Korie decide to take her shopping.

They find success, according to Phil.

Jase Robertson lays it all out there in his new book, revealing (among other things) that he and wife Missy were both virgins on their wedding night.

The beloved 44-year-old Duck Dynasty star also writes about his commitment to Christ, his struggles with daughter Mia’s cleft palate and much more.

Notable excerpts from Jase's interview about Good Call: Reflections on Faith, Family, and Fowl (already a winner with that title) with Fox News include ...

Jase and Missy Robertson Photo

On saving himself for marriage: "I’m proud of that. That was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my entire life (laughs)."

"What I did was when I started dating girls I would quickly tell them on the first date as soon as they got in the car. I’d say, ‘Look I will not treat you inappropriately at any point in our relationship.’"

"I had a couple get out of the vehicle!"

On whether that made him more desirable: "I think in a way it kind of did. They viewed it as a sign of strength. My wife in particular, she really loved the idea that she felt secure with me, like I had a direction I was taking. I didn’t sugarcoat anything."

Duck Dynasty got serious last night with the show's fifth season finale.

The episode focused on Mia Robertson, 10. The daughter of Jase and Missy Robertson was born with a cleft palate and received corrective surgery.

If you watch Duck Dynasty online, you're "gonna go from gut-wrenching laughter to crying, because it's very sweet," Missy tells People of Mia's ordeal.

Jase Robertson, Family

Adds Jase Robertson, the laid-back brother famous for his no-worries attitude: "I was never an emotional guy until I had a daughter who had problems."

"When you hand your daughter off to some doctors and you know they're going to cut on her, that's tough. I lost it. So much for not being emotional."

Were they worried about the public scrutiny Mia (seen with mom, dad and big brothers Reed and Cole above) might face as a result of the episode?

"Of course, that was a worry," says Jase. "There have been times when kids made fun of her for how she looks. We've had to have some serious talks about it."

The Robertsons formed the Mia Moo Fund, whose slogan is "Because Every Kid Deserves A Smile," to raise awareness and help children with similar problems.

Duck Dynasty Season 5 is in the books following an hour-long finale on Wednesday that was a little out of the ordinary for the popular A&E reality show.

How so? In between Willie and Jase trading zingers and Phil battling yuppies for alpha male supremacy was the story of a little girl who wants a party.

When you watch Duck Dynasty online, you'll see that despite the controversy and redneck jokes, the series is as much about family and heart as any.

In Duck Dynasty Season 5 Episode 10, Mia Robertson, Jase and Missy's daughter, was facing her fifth major surgery to address her cleft lip and palate.

Before her operation, Jase (a much bigger softie than he lets on) and Missy the youngster her the option to do whatever she wants as a big send off.

After hearing about a famous Uncle Willie and Daddy wrestling match, Mia chooses a big family reunion, with all of the extended cousins as well.

Dad did not let her down. "Cut to the Chase" Jase brings back his classic nickname from the Christmas special to do battle in the wrestling ring.

His opponent? "Get Back to Work" Willie, in the full-sized wrestling ring they rented. And they go at it, WWE style. It was weird, but in an awesome way.

On Duck Dynasty Season 5 Episode 8, the Duck Commander gang built a playhouse for the kiddos. Jep's kiddos, to be specific. He's got four and they are adorable!

The issue was that with Jep nursing an injured wrist, he had to outsource this important project to Jase, Martin and Godwin, making the results at best unpredictable.

And entertaining, obviously, whenever Team Jase is involved.

In the end what he got was a fort/duck blind hybrid. Pretty cool, no? As patriarch Phil put it, it looks more like something you put prisoners in for solitary.

You be the judge regarding whether that makes it a success.

Jessica Robertson would fall into the "no" category. She was not what you'd call pleased with the jail-like structure, but perhaps she'll come around soon.

Hey, when you call upon free manual labor, you roll the dice.
