Jamie Spears - not to be confused with Jamie Lynn Spears - is the father of Britney Spears. And Jamie Lynn Spears. He used to be married...

Britney Spears' ex-boyfriend David Lucado wants desperately to contact her, but he's going to have to get past the venerable brick wall known as Mr. Jamie Spears.

The 32-year-old has been under conservatorship of her father since her 2007-08 mental breakdown. Jamie's widely credited with saving her career, even life.

When Jamie Spears bought the video of Lucado cheating on Britney from an unknown source, he proved yet again the lengths he'll go to protect his daughter.

David's fighting an uphill battle, in other words.

Dave Lucado

As soon as word of David Lucado cheating on Britney leaked, his rep put out a statement saying he's in love with her and he hopes this can all work out.

Didn't happen. Brit dumped him immediately, blasted her single status on social media more than once and put her team on notice that he's been 86'd.

Lucado, according to reports, is telling his friends (what he has left) that he and the pop megastar were not "100 percent together" a few weeks ago.

The alleged video of David Lucado cheating on Britney Spears is very real, but you'll never see it, because her father Jamie Spears purchased the thing.

Spears confirmed she was available again yesterday with a brief social media declaration of her single status, ending an 18-month relationship with Lucado.

One which ended, reportedly, after a video of David dancing with and kissing a woman surfaced a few weeks ago. This report is very much accurate.

The pop star, 32, did not personally get into this on her Twitter or Instagram, but reliable sources confirm that the video is legit and it led to the split.

Word got back to Britney's father Jamie Spears that the video was being shopped around, and contracted the agency personally to secure the footage.

It's not clear who had the video or what he paid for it, but it's in his possession and according to TMZ, he paid a substantial amount for the only copy.

Britney Spears' father Jamie Spears is calling the shots on her upcoming tour, and getting paid handsomely - yet saving her a bundle at the same time.

Come again? Well, as director of Spears' Femme Fatale Tour, which kicks off today in Sacramento, Calif., he'll be doing the work of multiple individuals.

Jamie has asked the judge overseeing Britney's conservatorship to give him money for directing and managing the logistics of the Spears adventure.

Britney Spears' Daddy

The elder Spears hasn't specified the amount he wants, but it could be in the hundreds of thousands ... actually hella cheap by market standards.

Five people managed the singer's 2009 Circus Tour, with the amount reaching seven figures. This time, it's Jamie's show to run. You get the idea.

Whatever Jamie gets, it will be on top of the $16,000 a month he makes serving as overseer of all things Britney - legal, musical, medical, etc.

Money well spent. Clearly her career is chugging along nicely, and have you seen any Britney Spears pictures lately? The girl is looking great ...

Britney Spears will ring in 2011 and quite possibly beyond under the control of her father, and the conservatorship is A-O-K with all the parties involved.

There are no plans to end the conservatorship, which was created in February 2008 after the singer went off the rails, and has continued ever since.

Don't worry, though. It's not bad news for Britney.

Caffeine Fiend

As long as Starbucks runs are permitted, she's all good.

She's "content" with the current arrangement and is no longer antsy to end it, since Jamie Spears has given her so much more space this past year.

As for the pop superstar's business affairs, Britney Spears, Inc., has never run more smoothly, so no one sees a reason to pull the plug on that, either.

So ... there you go. No news here. How 'bout these Britney Spears pics!

Britney Spears' divorced parents are back together.

Jamie and Lynn Spears, who also have a daughter Jamie Lynn Spears, are reconciling eight years after getting divorced. They're not married again (yet), but "they're back together and are doing well and happy," a source tells People.

"[They're] not remarried but back together."

The couple, who split in 2002, were looking friendly on Saturday at Los Angeles lounge Boudoir, cheering and dancing as DJ Mr. Best spun Britney Spears hits.

"They were in a great mood together," says an onlooker of the pop star's folks. "They were laughing together, dancing and laughing [and] totally having fun."

This sparked rumors of the couple rekindling their lost passion, which were soon confirmed by people close to the singer's camp and her parents themselves.

"Lynne is a dear, sweet person," a family friend says. "She deserves all the happiness in the world. My only wish for her would be a happy ending."

Congratulations to the whole family on this happy news.

The court-instituted conservatorship controlling all things Britney Spears is still in effect, but Jamie Spears has backed off her considerably - by choice.

Sources say the Spears conservatorship is essentially a formality at this point, as the singer now makes almost all of her personal decisions herself.

Britney's dad is the official conservator and has the power to make life decisions for his daughter on almost every level. But lately he has not been.

Due to friction with Britney, Jamie has quite intentionally pulled back and giving back control - where Britney goes, what she does with her kids, etc.

As for when the conservatorship will end? That's another story.

How long will Jamie Spears maintain control over Britney?

Last year, the plan was to end the conservatorship around this time. Now, though, it looks like the conservatorship will last at least through the summer

Perhaps it was the trailer park bride look that caused the delay.

Just kidding. For his part, Jamie Spears wants to set Britney free and go home to Louisiana, but it isn't that easy. The court must decide it's for the best.

A psychiatrist has conducted a new evaluation and is submitting his findings soon. Everyone agrees that Britney has made great progress, so we'll see.

Oh, but while Spears may be making her own life decisions on a daily basis, the conservatorship over Britney The Business will be in place indefinitely.

What do you think ... Free Britney?

Control her finances? Yes. Her schedule? Yep. Medical decisions? Check.

Her choice of undergarments? Well ... would you really be surprised?

We doubt there's any truth to it, but Britney Spears' father, Jamie Spears, has reportedly given the singer a "bra ultimatum," according to various reports.

No word if Jason Trawick would "support" this.

The story is that the conservator is tired of pics like the ones seen here... and probably half the entries in of our gallery of Britney Spears pictures lately.

Thus, he imposed a "must wear bra" rule on his famous daughter.

NO BRA, NO PROBLEMO: Orders from pappy or not, Britney Spears has no use for pesky underwire support. Ding dang, them puppies are gonna be hangin' out, y'all.

Other sources close to the fam tell us there is no such rule in place, although it has been talked about. Big Papa Jamie Spears is said to have concluded this:

You can't make any 28-year-old woman wear a bra if she doesn't want to ... especially Britney. In fact, he laughed when he heard the story of his "demand."

Michael Lohan might want to consider instituting such a policy once he's granted a conservatorship over Lindsay. Or at least make her put on pants. Yeesh.

Is Britney losing it?

In a display of tantrums and cries for help, the deeply troubled singer has been pulling out her hair in clumps, throwing screaming fits and worse.

Britney Spears has been so unstable recently that her father warns he will have her committed to the psych ward again, according to sources.

In a grim flashback to her public meltdown in 2007, she even threatened to kill herself while arguing with her father and conservator, Jamie.

"Her dad's reaction was clear - keep it up and she'll end up back in a mental ward," revealed a source close to Britney Spears' family.

We know it did great things for her and got her back on track, but it's been three years. Is Jamie stretching the conservatorship out too long?

Loony Bin Calling

Britney Spears is supposedly depressed because Jamie has no intention of ending the legal conservatorship he holds over her - for at least another three years!

By then, Britney will be 31, and her estate may be worth $1 billion from album and concert sales. Only then will she be free to make her own decisions.

Meanwhile, Jamie Spears has his sexy daughter booked for as many tours and albums as her management can land. You gotta milk that cash cow hard!

"Britney had her hopes up because her dad told her if she did an Australian concert tour, which ended November 29, he would free her," said a source.

"But when the court extended the conservatorship before Christmas, it shattered Britney. She was thrown for a loop," and thinks it was his plan all along.

Spears is due back in court Friday for a status update on the conservatorship. Hopefully they don't take away more rights from the credit card bandit.

Los Angeles courtroom Commissioner Reva Goetz ordered the co-conservatorship of Britney Spears to continue, with her father, Jamie Spears, in control of her life.

Jamie will get $16,000 a month for his duties as conservator of Brit. Not a bad deal, but he does make her personal, financial and medical decisions 24/7/365.

In short, he works hard for the money.

Goetz also ordered the co-conservator of Britney, aptly-named lawyer Andrew Wallet, to be paid $174,569.10 for services rendered from July-November 2009.

The judge didn't specify how long the conservatorship will remain in place, but lawyers involved expect it to last somewhere between six months and a year.

Probably for the best. We know Jason Trawick is a great influence and she's a lot better now, but we're not sure she's capable of runnin' wild and free just yet ...

Still Shackled

Jamie Spears still controls this. He might want to hire a stylist.

We reported two weeks ago that Britney sought to end the conservatorship. Either that was untrue, she was overruled, or there's an end in sight (just not now).

Other issues concerned continuing to seal all medical and certain business transactions because of "trade secrets," so that Britney's treatment stays confidential.

The judge also increased the bond for the conservatorship from $1 million to $25 million. That way, if anything happened Britney's money she would be covered.

Samuel Ingham, a court appointed attorney for Britney Spears, said in court that, "She [Britney] accepted the decisions as filed and had no objection to it."

The next court hearing in the Britney case is scheduled for January 14. Fees for Laura Wasser, the star's divorce/custody attorney, will be dealt with then.

Free Britney!

That's what lawyers and others connected with the Britney Spears conservatorship case are saying as they work toward the goal of ending the control her dad, Jamie, has had over her personal and professional decisions since early 2008.

But can - and more importantly should - Britney be freed?

Jamie Spears wants to wait until her tour ended before making any such move, and even then, he wants to do it only when and if the time is right.

There have been several lengthy meetings recently between Spears' lawyers and the court commissioner in the commissioner's chambers recently.

  • The Conservator
  • Lucky Jayden

Jamie and the lawyers will not and cannot make a binding decision to end the Britney conservatorship. They will weigh in, but the individual with all the influence is the "capacity expert" - a psychiatrist who was appointed by the court.

The capacity expert will do a thorough evaluation of Britney Spears psychologically and of the case in general and submit it to the commissioner.

We're told one of the fears Jamie has ... Sam Lutfi, who he thinks is still a threat to Britney if she lets him back in her life. He's got that right.

There are actually two conservatorships, or two components to Jamie's control. He runs Britney Spears the person and Britney, the cash cow.

The business conservatorship will likely continue indefinitely. The issue on the table is whether to end the conservatorship over Britney herself.

Should Britney Spears be allowed to roam free? Or is the risk of a return to her past pink-wigged, British-accent, no-pants self just too great?
