Anne Heche is joining the ranks of Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson.

Well, not really. There's only one Anne Heche, and this latest odd celebrity baby name can't compare to Bronx Mowgli, though we're not sure anything can.

The actress has given birth to a son, her second, who joins his older brother Homer with a name also borrowed from ancient Greece: Atlas Heche Tupper.

"They are ecstatic," the rep says of the new parents.

Heche and the boy's father, actor James Tupper, met on the set of ABC's Men in Trees and began dating in 2007. They announced they were expecting in December.

Heche's other son, Homer, 7, is from her marriage to deadbeat Coley Laffoon, which officially ended Wednesday. Great week for Anne Heche all around!

James Tupper starred in Men in Trees. He's has also been the primary Man in Anne Heche since 2006 - and now will have a baby to show for it.

The actress and her beau are expecting their first child.

The two first met on the set of their short-lived drama Men In Trees while Anne Heche was still wed to deadbeat husband Coley Laffoon.

"In that friendship, we kind of discovered we saw the world in a somewhat similar way," Tupper, who was also married at the time, told the Vancouver Sun. "I think we both made decisions that were based on the relationships we were in."

Shortly after Heche announced her split from quote-unquote cinematographer Laffoon (with whom she has a 6-year-old son, Homer), the two stepped out publicly.

"I wish people could meet her in person," James Tupper said of Heche, with whom he shares a home in Canada. "She has such a sparkle and such a love for people, and she works so hard. She is so dedicated to all the good things."

The two will reportedly both be guest starring on Samantha Who? later this season. Should be fun. Congratulations to the couple on their future celebrity baby!

When Anne Heche left her husband Coley Laffoon for her Men in Trees co-star James Tupper in 2006, ending his marriage as well... no one batted an eye.

Come on. It's Anne Heche. The woman did the impossible and changed teams, to borrow a classic Seinfeld quote. What's a little infidelity and home-wrecking?

Lately, though, Heche is doing what she can to make her new life with James Tupper normal: "We're so much more comfortable now that our feelings are exposed and everybody knows about them," she told Extra.

Anne Heche says that being a couple makes working together easier.

"They're less challenging," she says of her love scenes with hunky James Tupper. "Usually when you're doing a love scene with somebody you're not in love with, it's like you kiss and you kiss and then you think, 'Oh, great.'"

But for Anne Heche and James Tupper, a love scene is downright fun: "When they yell, 'Cut,' we just lay there and wait for the next take to go," she says.

So cute. So will Heche, who has a son with Coley Laffoon, and Tupper start a family of their own? She says: "Gotta leave it open, ya know what I'm saying?"

If the past is any indication, when it comes to Anne Heche, anything goes.

Despite their very strange relationship, we wish this couple the best. These hot co-stars are like a Men in Trees version of Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas.

Anne Heche and her Men in Trees co-star, James Tupper, recently bought a new home in West Vancouver, where he's living with the actress.

It's a situation he says feels a little like heaven.

The Hollywood Gossip feels a little like puking.

"We are just exploring our relationship and it has been going very well," Tupper tells the Vancouver Sun. "Where is it going? I don't know. Ask me again in a year."

As for their relationship and current situation, James Tupper says, "Canadians are so respectful, they really leave us alone a lot. We have experienced nothing but generosity and openness."

Before returning to work on Season 2 of the ABC show about a big city therapist in a small Alaskan town, Tupper and Heche spent some quality time together.

Specifically, they spent three-and-a-half months in Los Angeles with Homer, Anne Heche's 5-year-old son.

Homer's father is Coleman Laffoon, also known as Coley Laffoon, a camera guy who is involved in a bitter dispute over child / spousal support and custody.

The gist: He says Heche is mentally unstable, while she says he is addicted to gambling and strippers and spanking it to online sex photos.

"He is unbelievable," Tupper says (of Homer, not Laffoon).

"We had a cast baseball game on the weekend and he came off and slugged it over the short stop. He has got a preternatural swing."

It was while shooting the show that James Tupper and Anne Heche first became friends who, he says, kept very clear boundaries.

"In that friendship, we kind of discovered we saw the world in a somewhat similar way," says Tupper, originally from Nova Scotia. "I think we both made decisions that were based on the relationships we were in. "

Despite rumors that Heche again likes girls, their friendship eventually blossomed into something more, and the couple started dating last January, Tupper confirms.

"I wish people could meet her in person," the smitten star says. "She has such a sparkle, such a love for people. She works so hard. She is so dedicated to all the good things."

We don't know what's weirder:

  1. The fact that Anne Heche and her co-star from Men In Trees are now dating
  2. The fact that Anne Heche was a lesbian at one point, but then got married to a guy and has a five-year-old son
  3. The fact that Anne Heche's husband's name is Coley Laffoon

In any case, it's all true. But Men In Trees hunk James Tupper insists he's no Jason Wahler. In the sense that he's not a cheating SOB. Nor does he get arrested a lot.

Whatever. According to Tupper, his off-screen romance with Heche didn't commence until they were both single, he tells People.

"The line," he says, "was never crossed."

Instead, James Tupper, who earned the on-set nickname McTreemy** because of his heartthrob status among viewers**, says he and Heche "really trusted each other almost right from the beginning and leaned on each other as their respective marriages were coming to an end."

** - Please note that this was a marketing attempt by ABC to capitalize on the popularity of Grey's Anatomy, and that no one actually calls him this. Or watches Men In Trees, for that matter.

Tupper separated from his wife, Kate, late last year, but "We remain very good friends," he says. Sure thing. In January, Heche announced that she was separating from Laffoon, her husband of five years. They have a five-year-old son, Homer.

Though their relationship did not begin immediately, the spark between the actors, which is not by any means a fake relationship staged generate interest in the show, was clear as soon as they started working together.

"Anne and I have wonderful on-screen chemistry," Tupper said. "I'm happy that people like to watch us. It's a beautiful thing. I adore her, and I'm hopeful for the future."

But does Tupper, who says he'd love kids one day, see himself settling down with Heche?

"I'm not ready to rush into marriage," he says, but "I've never met anyone like her. There's something really comforting when you can truly connect with someone and be understood. Isn't that what we all want?"

Amen, James. The Gossip and Anne Hathaway definitely feel that same sort of bond. Even if the latter is not aware of this whatsoever.

It's not easy being Anne Heche.

The actress has dated women - notably, Ellen DeGeneres.

She's dated men - say hello to Coley Laffoon, her husband of five years until recently.

And now, she's reportedly dating co-stars - step right up, Men In Trees actor, James Tupper.

A spokesperson for Tupper has confirmed that he's left his wife and is the latest to try his luck with Heche. We think the Keeley Hazell sex tape has a better chance of winning an Oscar than this relationship has of working out.

Last October, Tupper was asked what it's like working with Heche.

"I'm a big fan," he said. "She has an energy that makes people feel included in things. It's like being under a light when you're around her."

A light of confused sexual orientation and morals, sure. What's next, animals? Paris Hilton's pussy sure hopes not.
