Jake Gyllenhaal and his baby face turn 31 today.

An actor who's able to be one of the biggest A-listers and heartthrobs around, yet is able to stay away from celebrity gossip headlines (save for those flings with Reese Witherspoon and Taylor Swift), Jake has been a fan favorite for years.

He's starred in Jarhead, Brothers, Love & Other Drugs, Brokeback Mountain and many other successful projects, winning over admirers of both genders and all ages.

Jake has another milestone to celebrate this. Sister Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard, her husband just announced that she's pregnant for the second time!

Congrats Maggie, and happy birthday Jake!

Jake Gyllenhaal, who normally flaunts a full head of hair, and quite often a beard and mustache to boot, was recently spotted bald on the L.A. set of his new film.

In End of Watch, he plays a police officer, so it suits the role (as it did when he bic'd it for 2005′s Jarhead). But it's certainly a dramatic shift for the hirsute actor.

Looks like Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal are hitting it off ... with other people! The former was seen on a hot date with Garrett Hedlund, reports say.

"It was their first time going out," a source tells Us Weekly of Swift's April 1 evening out in Nashville with the Tron: Legacy and Country Strong star.

"They've been emailing for a while, and she hinted they should get together."

Sources say that despite an obviously strong connection, Taylor is taking things slowly after a fast-track romance and breakup with Jake Gyllenhaal last fall.

Speaking of Jake, he's been spotted out with 90210 star Jessica Lowndes. Yeah, the chick stuck playing Adrianna on the CW's mediocre remake of the hit.

As long as they're both happy. Too bad Jay Leno didn't ask Taylor about this during her visit last night. Probably would've resulted in more blank stares.

Jake Gyllenhaal has been linked to Jenny Lewis and Camille Belle over the last few days, but might the actor actually be returning to an old love?

Witnesses tell People that Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift - yes, that Taylor Swift! - dined at Nashville restaurant Bound'ry yesterday.

"They did eat," a fellow patron reports. "They were cordial to one another, but not affectionate."

Another onlooker says the former couple appeared talkative: "There was no holding hands, but they seemed happy together. They sat next to the fireplace just chatting away."

About what, we wonder...

Swift has been hanging out in her hometown all week. She's getting ready for a concert tomorrow night aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship and then for the Asian leg of her latest tour, which kicks off in Singapore on February 9.

A day before Jake Gyllenhaal took his ex-girlfriend to the Golden Globe Awards, the actor was spotted out at another event... with another woman. Onlookers tell Radar Online that Gyllenhaal and Camilla Belle "hung out together the entire night" on Saturday at the Art of Elysium "Heaven" Gala.

"They were talking intimately, and laughing," a witness reports. "There really seemed to be chemistry, a connection."

Gyllenhaal is heavily involved in Art of Elysium, a charity that brings the arts to ailing children.

It's a good cause, but this is not good news for Taylor Swift, Jake's ex. Belle was actually the same woman with whom Joe Jonas rebounded after he and Swift broke up.

Concluded an insider at this event: "Jake and Camilla were flirting all night. And before he left, I saw him very affectionately touching her arm. She is definitely his type."

Sorry, Taylor Swift. We hope you weren't watching the Golden Globes last night.

But the latest issue of Us Weekly claims to have all the real scoop on the break-up, highlighted by this supposed fact: Jake dumped Taylor over the phone!

If true, this would mark the second time Swift has received sad news in such a manner. Joe Jonas (in)famously broke her heart with a 27-second call a couple years ago.

How is Taylor taking the split? Not well.

At last week's People's Choice Awards, a friend says the singer “was not her usual bubbly self. She didn’t eat anything, seemed very sad and definitely wasn’t having a good time."

At one point, Taylor found Selena Gomez and reportedly and said to her: ‘It’s so good to see you. I need a friend tonight.’”

Good. We were sick of writing the word Swiftenhaal anyway...

Multiple sources confirm that Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift have ended their brief romance.

The couple split prior to New Year's Eve, with Gyllenhaal actually being the one to put the kabosh on a romance that began in October.

"Jake reached out to her and started all of this, but now he’s not acting as interested," an insider tells Us Weekly. "He said he wasn't feeling it anymore and was uncomfortable with all the attention they got. He also said he could feel the age difference."

After initially attempting to keep its fling private, the duo was spotted out multiple times in December. Most witnesses said they looked very much into each other.

"Taylor is really upset," this source added. "We told her not to move so fast with this but she didn't listen."

Hey, at least it will make good material for a future hit song!

The actor has reportedly played wealthy Santa Claus to Taylor Swift, gifting her over the last couple weeks with a number of high-priced items. According to In Touch Weekly, Gyllenhaal has handed out:

• A $10,000 Fender Gretsch guitar, signed by country artist Chet Atkins.
• A $100,000 diamond bracelet that sources describe as "Oscar-worthy."
• Due to the couple's mutual love of coffee, 21 pounds of the best Kona beans available, along with a coffee grinder and a maker.

Gyllenhaal also went with a home-made Christmas card over a generic store-bought one. No wonder Swift is obsessed with Jake, huh?

Taylor Swift celebrated her 21st birthday with friends and family members yesterday.

But while sources confirm there was no alcohol at the event, that doesn't mean the singer wasn't drunk... on love!

According to Us Weekly, Jake Gyllenhaal was on hand at Swift's "low key" celebration, held at her home in Nashville, and he was acting "cuddly and so cute" with his rumored girlfriend. An attendee said these two were "obsessed" with each other all night.

Aside from a lovely girl on his arm, Gyllenhaal has another reason to smile today: he's been nominated for a Golden Globe. Congrats all around!
