So... that was it?

After months of hype and threats from the PTC, Howard Stern debuted on America's Got Talent last night and initially joked with viewers: "These NBC executives must be out of their minds taking a risk on me, they should be fired immediately."

He then, however, assured everyone that he knows how to "behave." Except...

... didn't NBC hire him to mostly misbehave? What's the fun of a watered-down Howard Stern telling a contestant playing something called an "earth harp" that "I made my career out of originality, and I bow to you."

The most risque line Stern crossed? When he told another hopeful the following: "As a stripper you can't have man-boobs, you understand. I have them, but I'm not a stripper."

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Plot that boycott, sponsors!

What did you think of Stern's America's Got Talent debut?

Now that it's official, Howard Stern is excited for Britney Spears to serve as an X Factor judge. But not for the reasons Simon Cowell is likely hoping for.

  • Howard Stern in NYC
  • Brit Sings

"I think it’s a wonderful decision," Stern said today at a New York's Friars Club press conference. "Britney still thinks the earth is flat... I think we’re going to tune in to see her, to see if she can function through the thing. As far as any real criticism, I think Simon and LA Reid will do that. As far as criticism, I think Britney will sit there and eat a lollipop and wear a sexy outfit...

"I'll tune in to see what kind of train wreck she is, absolutely."

Stern himself will enter the world of reality TV judging on Monday when he debuts as an America's Got Talent panelist. Which of these new judges are you more excited about?

The Parents Television Council is at it once again.

This time, the focus of the organization's wrath is NBC and its decision to hire Howard Stern as a judge on the upcoming season of America's Got Talent.

In a follow-up to its original statement, slamming the show's decision to hire this controversial radio host, the PTC has now called for a boycott from all advertisers, sending a letter to 91 companies and urging them to consider their "media buy" in light of this "vulgar" new panelist.

Stern is only an expert when it comes to "looking at insecure, naked young women and telling them whether or not they were hot enough to pose for Playboy," the letter, obtained by TMZ, reads.

Does his decades-lone penchant for profanity, his affinity for degrading and sexualizing women, and his proclivity for vulgar and explicit dialog, accurately reflect your corporate values? the PTC asks advertisers in the letter.

Seems a bit harsh to us. It's not like the guy ever tried to have phone sex with Octomom. Oh... right.

What do you think? Should Howard Stern be a judge on America's Got Talent?

When Howard Stern had the creator of dial-a-star (dot) com on his show this week, the conversation quickly turned to the roster of peeps that can be called directly for a fee.

Yes, there is a site offering this. And Nadya "Octomom" Suleman is one of the people.

Howard, naturally, decided to dial Octo up and talk dirty to her. Think NSFW dirty talk people. But, sadly (or luckily), Nadya wasn't up for phone sex. Listen:

Stern shouldn't be too surprised, really. For an individual who birthed 14 kids, she shows a striking lack of interest in all things vagina. It's uncanny.

This is a woman who would rather go on welfare and get death threats than do one porn scene for a million dollars. She's just not that into the sex.

The thought of Elle Macpherson nude is typically a cause for celebration. But during an interview with Howard Stern on Tuesday, this topic instead turned contentious between host and super model.

It all started when Macpherson admitted her bedroom wall is adorned with a photo from 1990 in which she poses nude on a beach, save for "a gun holster around my waist," she said, adding of the picture, which is taken from behind: "I love the image."

But Stern asked whether Elle's children - Arpad, 14 and Aurelius, 9 - were traumatized by such a decoration.

"Do your children get upset by that?" he wondered. "It's probably upsetting that his mother's ass is in the bedroom, and if the kids bring over friends..."

Macpherson's response?

"I think you're being absolutely Jewish... you're being overprotective. You sound like a nagging mother, 'Eleanor, should you have that picture in your room?' My children are very well-balanced."

The interview ended on a jovial note, with the two joking about Stern once seeing his mother coming out of the shower and Elle responding that of course that would be disturbing for a child, especially "if she looks like you."

But did Macpherson cross a line with the Jewish reference? You tell us:

Joan Rivers and Chelsea Handler are in a major feud and Howard Stern is caught in the middle, having hosted the women on his radio show in successive days.

Yesterday, in the same interview in which she recalled dumping 50 Cent, Handler was reflecting on her ongoing feud with Rivers. Chelsea's take, in a nutshell:

"What the f**k do I care about Joan Rivers? I don't think about her ever."

According to Joan, the discord began which she claims Chelsea ignored her efforts to say hello at an E! function and was outright rude to her and her daughter.

Handler claims Rivers started the feud by making harsh remarks about her in a speech for no reason, unprovoked. It's unclear what she said allegedly.

In any case, Joan appeared on Stern's Sirius XM show Tuesday morning with daughter Melissa Rivers and went off on Handler, calling her unfunny and worse.

Specifically, she alluded to Chelsea's relationship with E! CEO Ted Harbert.

"Number one, the girl made it on her back f**king the president, we all know that, of the network. Number two, she's fine, she's ordinary," Rivers told Stern.

"She's not a genius," Joan said. "She's an ordinary girl that was f**king somebody high up in the industry and they gave her a break and she's doing okay."

"Whatever she is, she's a drunk. I don't wish her good luck, I don't wish her bad luck. I don't think she's funny. But don't you come after me, you wh*re!"

Are you Team Joan or Team Chelsea?

Howard Stern has an important message for parents around the world: he has no intention of turning your children into sex fiends.

The new America's Got Talent judge issued this missive during an appearance on Piers Morgan Tonight, in response to criticism leveled at NBC for hiring the lesbian-loving radio host.

Stern, Howard

The PTC thinks "I'm some sort of weird pervert who's going to convert America into some kind of zombie sex fiends," he told the man he's replacing, adding:

"I can assure you and the rest of America what I'm looking at here is to be a very good judge. To sit there, I take it seriously, you know I watched the show."

If NBC was aiming to create headlines with its hiring of Howard Stern as a judge on America's Got Talent, the network can consider its mission accomplished.

Of course, not all headlines are positive, especially not that highlighted by the always-grumpy Parents Television Council.

Referring to Stern as Stern in a statement as "a performer who is synonymous with shock, profanity and obscenity," the PTC added:

"The once-proud broadcast network has lost its way and has made it clear it holds no concern whatsoever for children and families... Not coincidentally, in just over three weeks the network will be standing before the United States Supreme Court arguing for the right to use the F-word at any time of the day, even in front of children."

What do you think of Stern's hiring? Will he make for an acceptable judge?

America has talent, and a new reality show judge.

Following weeks of chatter, controversial radio host Howard Stern has officially been hired by NBC and will join the panel on America's Got Talent this summer.

Howard Stern Interview Pic

“Howard Stern’s larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to America’s Got Talent starting this summer,” said NBC alternative programming head Paul Telegdy. “He’s a proven innovator and his track record in broadcasting is truly remarkable. Howard is very passionate about this show and is fully committed to its future success.”

A spot opened up for Stern - who had also been considered for American Idol after Simon Cowell exited - after Piers Morgan dropped out, meaning he'll sit alongside Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandell on the upcoming season. Should be interesting, that's for sure.

Goodbye, Piers. Hello, Howard?

A day after Piers Morgan resigned his post as a judge on America's Got Talent, The Wall Street Journal reports that radio icon Howard Stern is under consideration for the gig.

Stern - who expressed interest awhile back in replacing Simon Cowell on American Idol - would reportedly sign a deal for $15 million per year, while continuing to host his Sirius XM show in New York, a fact that might necessitate NBC moving the AGT studio across the country.

The pros of Stern coming on board America's Got Talent? He's very popular and outspoken. He would certainly bring a fresh voice to to the show. Among the cons? Let's just say we may see an increase in lesbian acts on stage.
