Hope Solo. With the U.S. soccer star, there's rarely a dull moment.

Wednesday afternoon, Hope was apparently trying to either text or direct-message a friend, but ended up Tweeting out her phone number to 660,000 followers.

Solo quickly deleted the tweet ... then claimed it was a joke?

U ain't got that new number, Hope Solo followers! BURN!

The number was actually for her hair salon (we've been told, not that we called), making the situation - or Solo's rationalization of it - no less puzzling.

Naturally, this captured the attention of Solo's fans:

A newly-revealed 911 call sheds new light on the fight between U.S. soccer star Hope Solo and then-fiance Jerramy Stevens on the night before their wedding.

The November 13 melee resulted in the arrest of former NFL player Stevens, but the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence after the fact.

Shortly after his release from jail, the couple married.

They had been dating only two months at the time.

The Hope Solo 911 call was placed by Marcus Solo, her brother. He asked that officers respond to her home, where a pre-wedding party took a violent turn.

U.S. soccer star Hope Solo insists husband Jerramy Stevens never laid a hand on her, despite the former NFL player's arrest for domestic violence two weeks ago.

Hope Solo married him the next DAY, so that's hopefully an encouraging sign.

Hope Solo and Jerramy Stevens

There was wide speculation that Stevens attacked Solo during a house party at their residence, but she just released a statement, claiming that never happened:

"My beautiful husband & i happy as can be! [sic] Let me set the record straight!!! Jerramy has NEVER treated me poorly! The truth always prevails!”

Think Pamela Anderson is second-guessing last night's Dancing With the Stars results?

Soccer star Hope Solo, never one to mince words, claims DWTS is rigged, citing occurrences during her stint on the show that "prove" producers, not voters, call the shots.

The 31-year-old, who partnered with Maksim Chmerkovskiy en route to a fourth-place finish, says they received a "secret memo" that revealed they would be ousted several weeks earlier.

Hope writes in her recently-released memoir:

Hope Solo claims in her new memoir, Solo: A Memoir of Hope, that Maksim Chmerkovskiy slapped her across the face on Dancing With the Stars in 2011.

Maksim is reportedly adamant that this did NOT occur and shocked that the slap story somehow made it into the U.S. women's soccer team goaltender's book.

In it, she says Chmerkovskiy slapped her hard during a tense rehearsal while trying to put her head in the correct position for a dancing move. You buy it?

The two were partners who famously clashed on the show, but this was mostly attributed at the time to them each being intense competitors and athletes.

They've had dinner several times since the show, and she tweeted to Maks before the Olympics, offering him free tickets (Hope led the U.S. to gold, as usual).

Maks says he has no idea why Hope would publish such a false, defamatory statement and posted a statement on Twitter Thursday without naming names:

“Always hated hypocrites and liars… but when someone is both AND an opportunist, I just feel bad for them. Can’t win at someone’s expense,” he wrote.

Is it possible that she exaggerated an incident for her book just to make splashy headlines? Tell us what you think in the comments below.

U.S. soccer all-star Hope Solo gets a lot of press for her off-field antics and comments, but the goaltender always performs when it counts.

The U.S. won the women's soccer gold medal and would not have done so without the best goalie on the planet - just ask Solo's teammates.

"You can't go without saying that Hope saved the day," U.S. forward Abby Wambach said. "Literally. Five times." Here's one of those times:

All the interviews, candid remarks and Twitter rants against Brandi Chastain can't take away from the fact that Hope saved the Americans yesterday.

Carli Lloyd scored early in both halves, putting America up 2-0. But Japan closed to within 2-1, and had a chance to tie in the waning moments.

Hope shut the door on them, though, as she has countless times before in her career. Watch her last, and best, save of the match right here:

Brandi Chastain has responded to Hope Solo's Twitter criticism of her recent commentary for ESPN, defending her comments as part of the job.

Chastain, who rose to fame during Team USA's 1999 World Cup win, pissed off Hope with her critique of America's performance at the Olympics.

Specifically, Chastain said defender Buehler actually needs to improve on her defense, a comment she stands by as both objective and honest.

Brandi and Hope

Chastain said in a statement: "My only comment is I am in London to cover women's soccer for NBC in an honest and objective fashion, and that is what I have done, and will continue to do for the rest of the tournament."

Solo, who turned 31 yesterday, said "it's too bad we can't have commentators who know more about the game" and told Brandi to "lay off commentating about defending and goalkeeping until you get more educated."

If Solo's comments have been any distraction to the team, you wouldn't know it. They're on the verge of beating North Korea to improve to 3-0.
