Mitt Romney's latest TV ad uses old, unrelated footage of Hillary Clinton - a popular figure from President Obama's own party and cabinet - to drive home his point.

One of the oldest tricks in the book, but effective.

The Romney campaign would say it's not necessarily unrelated, either, as the new ad uses clips of Clinton railing against Obama for lying about her record.

The GOP challenger is accusing him of the same behavior today.

"Shame on you, Barack Obama," Clinton says in footage from the 2008 Democratic primary, recycled in the spot for Romney, who hopes to unseat him in 2012:

The Romney ad uses the Clinton footage to back up a recent Washington Post article about an Obama ad accusing Romney of outsourcing jobs overseas.

Obama's claim about Mitt Romney's record while he was governor of Massachusetts was "misleading, unfair and untrue," according to the commercial.

"But that's Barack Obama," a narrator in the Romney ad declares. "He also attacked Hillary Clinton with vicious lies." Clinton did, at one point, allege this.

"He continues to spend millions of dollars perpetuating falsehoods," Clinton said in early 2008 footage now used to discredit Obama's claims about Romney.

Clinton, now Obama's Secretary of State and the frontrunner for the 2016 Democratic nomination, regardless of what happens this year, had no comment.

After touching down in Riga, the capital of Latvia, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton set a record by visiting her 100th country as America's top diplomat.

The previous record for any other secretary was 96. Clinton has also visited 22 other countries prior to her cabinet post, making her career tally 122!

Since 2009, Clinton has completed 70 trips, spent 337 days on the road and more than 73 days on the plane, equaling over 1,750 hours, her staff says.

Hope they have a good data plan for all those texts from Hillary!

With media attention focused on politics at home, especially after the Supreme Court health care ruling, Clinton continues to travel (and run) the world.

Dressed in a navy suit, Clinton seemed unfazed by the mileage as she shook hands with Latvian President Andris Berzins at Riga Castle this week.

"I wanted to save a very consequential number for Latvia!" she said proudly ... before heading off to Finland, Latvia and Russia within 24 hours.

Here are the 100 countries the Secretary of State, the frontrunner for the 2016 Democratic nomination if she decides to run, has traveled ...

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton continues to make news, and not just for the nearly impeccable job she's doing as America's top diplomat.

When she visited Bangladesh in early May, their human rights record wasn't the top news, nor was her speech on tensions within the country.

Instead, it was Hillary Clinton without makeup, as she went out in public sporting black framed glasses and red lipstick with her hair down.

Misguided as it was, most of that coverage was positive. Now, though, amidst rumors that she'll run for President in 2016, the knives are coming out.

The latest attack on Clinton came from Ed Klein, an author who has penned a number of controversial books, including The Truth About Hillary.

"At this very moment that we're speaking right now, Brian, [the Clintons] are already thinking seriously about running in 2016," Klein told Fox News.

"She'll be 69 years old. And I don't want to sound anti-feminist here, but she's not looking good ... She's looking overweight, and she's looking very tired."

Klein, whose new book on the current President, The Amateur, contains an Obama divorce story and his old girlfriend's, continued to comment on Clinton.

Hillary Clinton made major headlines on her trip through Asia ... not just for averting a massive diplomatic crisis, but for wearing no makeup!

The Secretary of State finessed a delicate situation between the U.S. and China over a blind dissident, pressed India to reduce its oil imports from the rogue Iran, and deflected the persistent rumors that she will run for president in 2016.

And finally … the 64-year-old (gasp) wore very little make-up, sported glasses and had un-coiffed hair during an official event in Bangladesh:

Hillary Clinton, No Makeup

"Hillary Au Naturale" has been scrutinized after photos of her wearing glasses, loose hair and nothing but a little bit of lipstick hit the Internet.

Her response? To paraphrase Rihanna: F--ks? Not given.

Clinton told CNN: "I feel so relieved to be at the stage I'm at in my life right now, because if I want to wear my glasses, I'm wearing my glasses."

"If I want to pull my hair back, I'm pulling my hair back."

In the 2008 primary race, there was much chatter about her short hair and pantsuits, even her use of scrunchies, an outdated hair tie that Carrie Bradshaw Sex and the City famously mocked ... back when that show was still on.

Hil likes 'em because they keep her hair back neatly and out of her face, though, and she's too busy running the entire world to care. So step off.

Going makeup free is a thing now anyways. We've seen AnnaLynne McCord, Demi Lovato and Lady Gaga without makeup. Clinton's just trendy.

A Tumblr account entitled “Texts From Hillary” and featuring faux texts to and from Secretary of State and no-nonsense taskmaster Hillary Clinton is a must-see.

The premise is simple: An actual, recent photo of Clinton on her phone and looking incredibly bad ass is blended with political humor and hilarious text-speak.

Friends Adam Smith and Stacy Lambe, both communications professionals based in Washington, D.C., created the Tumblr account that went viral this month.

With gems like this, it's easy to see why ...

Clinton, Obama and Biden Texting

It turns out that Clinton, the country's top diplomat, is a big fan after hearing about it - and invited the creators of the meme to the State Department!

“It was great. She came out, she was all smiles, told us how much she likes the site and that people have been telling her all about it,” Smith said.

“She thinks it’s hilarious. It just captured this wonderful image of Hillary."

"You definitely could tell she was in charge. You could tell she was getting stuff done there was just no question that this woman was a total badass.”

Hillary Clinton was posing for photos with Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang after their recent meeting in Honolulu when someone decided to crash that party.

The Secretary of State must have caught it out of the corner of her eye, because a second or two after the fact, she realized what happened and seriously cracked up.

A random, scantily-clad Hawaiian dude running around with a flaming torch while you're trying to pose with a dignitary will have that effect. Pretty funny stuff:

Cultural impact might mean as much as money and political influence, as evidenced by the celebrities on Forbes' 2010 World's 100 Most Powerful Women list.

The list is based less on traditional titles and roles and more on creative influence as well as entrepreneurship, the building of brands, the breaking of barriers.

The women of politics, business, media and lifestyle (entertainment, sports and fashion) were ranked in each group, and after that, in group against group.

Two of the top three in one photo!

The diverse mash-up of hard and dynamic power led to this top ten:

  1. Michelle Obama, First Lady of the U.S.
  2. Irene Rosenfeld, Chief Executive, Kraft Foods
  3. Oprah Winfrey, Talk show host and media mogul
  4. Angela Merkel, Chancellor, Germany
  5. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Secretary of State, U.S.
  6. Indra Nooya, Chief Executive, Pepsico
  7. Lady Gaga, Singer and rumored hermaphrodite
  8. Gail Kelly, Chief Executive, Westpac
  9. Beyoncé Knowles, Singer and fashion designer
  10. Ellen DeGeneres, Talk show host

What do you think of this list of the most powerful females? Spot on? Off base? Who would you include/exclude? Who should be higher?

Usually, politicians are ambitious creatures who choose words carefully and make open-ended statements, but Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wasn't this time.

She battled Barack Obama down to the wire for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, but don't expect the 2008 runner-up to ever try to succeed him.

Asked on Today if she will ever run for president again, the former First Lady and U.S. Senator, laughed heartily and replied: "No. No. No. I mean, this is a great job. It is a 24-7 job. And I'm looking forward to retirement at some point.”

She also addressed criticism that the head of the State Department is marginalized in debates over two national security threats: Afghanistan and Iran.

"I find it absurd," Clinton said, adding that maybe it is a "woman thing."

TEAM OF RIVALS: Obama brought Clinton into his administration.

"You know, I’m not one of these people who feels like I have to have my face in the front of the newspaper or on the TV every moment of the day. I would be irresponsible and negligent were I to say, 'Everything must come to me.'"

"Maybe that is a woman's thing. My goal is to be a positive force to implement the kind of changes the president and I believe are in the best interests of our country. But that doesn't mean it all has to be me, me, me all the time.”

Given Obama's late night skewering of late, perhaps there's just a little bit of HRC that's glad she's out of the limelight while the presidency is Barack's problem.

While she fell short in her race for the Democratic Presidential nomination against Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton won over 18 million votes - as well as our respect.

Not only that, her pantsuits gave us plenty of material for our celebrity fashion section, and for that we are grateful! Here's a photo tribute to HRC, who's 61 today:

Given that Tina Fey and Sarah Palin are already noted look-alikes, it was only a matter of time until the Saturday Night Live alumna parodied the Alaska Governor and Republican Vice Presidential candidate on the late night comedy show.

Not only is Fey a dead-ringer for Sarah Palin, but her accent was downright hilarious in last night's "non-partisan" sketch skewering the 2008 presidential election.

Amy Poehler, while bearing no physical resemblance to Hillary Clinton, is nonetheless funny as the former First Lady in this faux, joint press conference ...
