When Haley Joel Osment was arrested for drunk driving earlier this month, it was an embarrassing affair for the child actor.

Or was it an opportinity for free head shots? As the mug shot of The Sixth Sense star proves, celebrities are posing more and more for police cameras these days:

Of course, Osment is missing the smugness of Mel Gibson after his arrest. And the outright fright of Nick Nolte following his capture.

But give the kid some time. He's young.

Oh, Haley. It looks like the star of the Sixth Sense has been praying to his Mel Gibson poster a bit too much recently.

The 18-year old actor has been charged with three misdemeanors, including driving under the influence, stemming from an incident last month.

Osment was also charged with driving while having a .08 percent or higher blood alcohol content with the special allegation of having a .15 percent or higher blood alcohol content, and possession of marijuana while driving, according to Deputy District Attorney Ed Green.

Linsday Lohan would be so proud of the latter.

In July, the actor crashed his 1995 Saturn around 1 a.m. near Los Angeles. He lost control of his car, hit a mailbox on a brick base and flipped over. Osment broke a rib and hurt his shoulder in the accident, but was expected to make a full recovery.

The actor is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 19. Now, we're no conspiracy theorists - but M. Night Shyamalan directed both Osment and Gibson. Could the mysterious writer have infilitrated the minds of his stars and is now plotting his next movie?
We doubt it, really.
