In the real world, there are two rules to follow for a healthy work environment:

  1. Don't steal someone else's food from the fridge.
  2. Don't date your coworkers.

Both make for awkward water cooler run-ins and should probably be avoided.

Unless, of course, you're a famous movie star who dates other famous movie stars and you decide to date your coworkers. Then things just get interesting and awkward.

Especially when the characters you're portraying are together on screen.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum
Channing Tatum met now-wife Jenna Dewan on the set of Step Up. She was totally impressed by his moves.

Why? LOVE SCENES. Look no further than Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in Eyes Wide Shut to see what we mean. Pretty sure Keith Urban's neeeeeever watching THAT movie.

Gwyneth Paltrow's cavalcade of dumb rolled on today in the most unexpected way.

Given that Paltrow recently compared negative Internet comments to war trauma, we expect baffingly stupid things to pour out of her mouth daily, but she may have actually outdone herself with her latest comments.

Brace yourself: Gwyneth Paltrow thinks water has feelings and we shouldn't say mean things to it.

But of course she does. What more would you expect from the woman who coined the phrase "conscious uncoupling."

Check out this excerpt from the latest issue of Gwyneth's online newsletter (the unfortunately titled "Goop") and marvel at the fact that this woman is able to tie her own shoes:

While speaking at a conference recently, Gwyneth Paltrow compared negative Internet comments to war trauma, an analogy that was understandably not taken lightly by many veterans and their families.

Now, one very prominent wife and mother of soldiers is speaking out against Paltrow's ill-considered remark.

  • Cindy McCain Photo
  • Gwyneth Paltrow: Red carpet

Cindy McCain, wife of US Senator and former presidential candidate John McCain blasted Paltrow on Twitter today:

"Gweneth Paltrow is a joke," McCain tweeted. "Her life is like taking bullets for a soldier. What a joke! My 2 sons serving in the military should talk to her."

McCain added: Perhaps Gweneth Paltrow should go out on patrol with some soldiers. Kind of like a Red Carpet in her mind I guess!"

We can't help but wonder if Mrs. McCain intentionally misspelled Gwyneth's name to subtly diss the famously status-obsessed actress.

Gwyneth Paltrow is no stranger to putting her foot in her mouth.

Paltrow's "working mom" comments went viral for all the wrong reasons back in March, as the actress unintentionally (we hope) insulted millions of struggling parents.

Now, she's done it again by likening her distaste for negative online comments to the trauma endured by soldiers who have experienced combat.

"You come across (online comments) about yourself and about your friends, and it's a very dehumanizing thing," said Paltrow while speaking at a conference. "It's almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing."

Yes...she went there. She compared hate from comment board trolls to the life-altering, psyche-shattering experience of going to war.

Chris Martin stopped by a Los Angeles area convenience store recently where the Coldplay singer astonishingly stopped to answer paparazzi questions about whether he and Gwyneth Paltrow are getting back together.

The answer? Maybe! Or maybe not...

When asked why he's still spending time with his ex, Martin simply replied, "Well, you've gotta hang out, you know?"

Realizing that he may have led the paparazzi to believe that he and Gwyneth are patching things up, Martin then clarified that despite having just answered the question he is "not answering your question."

Yes, Chris is frustratingly vague when discussing his "conscious uncoupling," but he does seem to acknowledge that the photogs have good reason to wonder if the famous couple is on the verge of reconciliation.

After all, Paltrow and Martin are still living together and have been recently spotted going out on what appear to be dates.

Apparently "conscious uncoupling" is a longer process than any of us realized.

According to a new report from TMZ, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are still living together, despite having announced their separation back in March.

The cohabitation revelation came in the form of leaked court documents related to a crazed fan who's been stalking Gwyneth for years, at one point even making his way into her home.

Understandably, Gwyneth has filed for a restraining order against her stalker. Less understandable is the fact that the petition lists Chris as one of the protected parties and includes a handwritten note indicating that Martin lived with Paltrow.

It's Mother's Day! While some moms will receive coffee mugs and other kitsch today, others have received something a little more...glamorous:

Celebrity status thanks to giving birth to some of the biggest stars of the silver screen.  (That sort of makes motherhood a tall order for the rest of us.)

Some of Hollywood's unattached stars, like Jared Leto and once-upon-a-time Justin Timberlake, are so proud of their moms they bring them as dates on the red carpet, which is probably better for their careers than "I <3 Mom" tattoos. Others, like Jennifer Lawrence, make red carpet events a family affair and bring the whole brood.

Take a look at 9 celebrities and their moms and then go wish your own a Happy Mother's Day. After all, you're totally a celebrity to her.

Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson
They might look a little more like sisters (thanks to plastic surgery), but Goldie Hawn and daughter Kate Hudson make one dynamic duo.

Gwyneth Paltrow wants to put an end to the "mommy wars."

In a journal entry on her website Goop, the consciously uncoupled actress is clearing up and defending her recent comments about working women.

The mom of two stirred up some pretty significant outrage when she insinuated that raising her family in Hollywood was harder than for your average parent.

She explains her remarks, and the ensuing furor, as such:

"A few weeks ago during an interview, I was asked why I have only worked on one film a year since having children. My answer was this," Paltrow said.

"Film work takes one away from home and requires 12-14 hours a day, making it difficult to be the one to make the kids lunch, drive them to school, and put them to bed."

"So I have found it easier on my family life to make a film the exception, and my 9-5 job the rule. This somehow was taken to mean I had said a 9-5 job is easier."

Last week, Chris Martin spoke about his split from Gwyneth Paltrow in a candid interview with the BBC radio.

The full transcript of the interview - released today - reveals a surprising twist to the "conscious uncoupling" saga, as Chris apparently feels his own emotional issues caused his marriage to fail:

"About two years ago I was a mess," Chris says in the interview. "Really because I was unable to enjoy the things we are good at it and I can't enjoy the great things around me because I am burdened by this."

When Chris says "we," it's unclear if he's referring to his bandmates or his wife, but Coldplay hasn't broken up, so we think it's safe to say that "burden" he's talking about is Gwyneth.

There's been a lot of talk about the "conscious uncoupling" of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin in recent weeks, but none of it has come from Chris himself.

Chris finally opened up about his highly publicized separation during a recent BBC radio interview, speaking honestly about the heartbreak he's experienced and his efforts to stay on friendly terms with the mother of his two children.

"Everyone in their lives goes through challenges," said the Coldplay singer when asked about his marriage. "Whether it's love or money or kids or illness. There have been a lot of false headlines recently, but this would be a real one."

Chris did not address rumors that he cheated with Alexa Chung or that he and Gwyneth participated in an open marriage in which both parties were free to pursue romantic relationships outside of their relationship.

Gwyneth Paltrow Quotes

I've learned more about myself being married than anything else. I hate to say, "We've got it worked out," because you never know what's going to happen, but we laugh, we're good friends, we like to do the same stuff.

Gwyneth Paltrow

It's hard being married. You go through great times, you go through terrible times. We're the same as any couple.
