Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed's wedding was the real deal, and 100 percent not drummed up for their reality show ratings. That's according to their son, Nick.

The 22-year-old claims he's not surprised by the rumors it was faked, admitting that "My dad does tend to wear his shameless capitalism on his sleeve."

However, Nick Simmons adds, "I was there when the cameras weren't. My parents went through a dark period and came out still wanting to be together."

Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed married earlier this month after a whopping 28 years of dating and two children together. The nuptials will, of course, air as part of a VERY special episode of A&E's Gene Simmons' Family Jewels.

Nick added, "I can say is that my mother has the patience of a saint."

It also gave Nick the chance to wear this awesome shirt.

Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed got married Saturday, making it official after 28 YEARS of dating and two children together. Better late than never!

The KISS bassist, 62, and the actress, 54, exchanged vows in evening ceremony outside on the crystal lawn at the posh Beverly Hills Hotel yesterday.

The guests cheered loudly when Simmons said "I do" to his partner.

Tweed walked down the aisle in an ivory Priscilla of Boston gown, one of three dresses she chose for the occasion, and carried a bouquet of ivory roses.

The couple exchanged vows they wrote themselves in front of 400 guests including Hugh Hefner, Bill Maher and, of course, the other KISS members.

Also in attendance were Shannon Tweed and Gene Simmons' two children Nick, 22, and Sophie, 19, who served as the maid of honor for her mother.

Their first dance was quite fitting for a couple who have been together nearly 30 years: "At Last" by Etta James, performed by daughter Sophie.

Following a filmed proposal, Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed will get married on October 1 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The couple, who has actually been together for nearly three decades, released its wedding invitation to the world today. And the two-part message is rather laid back and hilarious.

First, we have a request for "classy cocktail attire," with smaller print that adds: "although we know some Rockstar attire will be worn."

Gene Simmons will no longer be performing at the Michael Jackson tribute concert set for October after the promoters pulled the plug on KISS hard.

The rocker, who accused Michael of being a pedophile, has been dropped from the roster just one day after it was announced Gene would perform.

Just last year, the rocker said he was child molester, in no uncertain terms: "There is no question in my mind he molested those kids. Not a doubt."

The promoters now tell TMZ, "We have listened to the fans and are grateful to have been alerted to these unfortunate statements by Gene Simmons." 

"Under the circumstances we fully agree that even though KISS is a band Michael admired we have no choice but to rescind our invitation to them."

The star's estate had fired off a letter yesterday, expressing displeasure over KISS performing at the concert ... and criticizing the concert in general.

There is discord among Jackson's family members regarding the October show, which Prince, Paris and Blanket have expressed interest in attending.

Jackson's parents, Joe and Katherine, are helping put it together, while two of his brothers (and many fans) believe the event is inappropriate.

Gene Simmons and KISS will be performing at the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert in October, according to the late star's mother, Katherine Jackson.

This is quite ironic, given Gene's comments about Michael.

Simmons went on record, after Jackson died no less, to say that "There is no question in my mind he molested those kids. Not a doubt."

Simmons went on to say, "The only sexual references ever made about Michael Jackson that were made by anyone, anywhere in the world, have always been made by children, and specifically males usually 10 to 14 years of age."

"Never females, that age or older, and never grown men."

Um, yeah. Maybe he's letting bygones be bygones now?

On tonight's season finale of Gene Simmons Family Jewels, the legendary rocker proposes to girlfriend Shannon Tweed. It seems like a daring decision, considering the pair has only been together for 28 years.

The woman is not his longtime girlfriend and Playboy model, Shannon Tweed, but rather some model named Elsa. Who apparently won't kiss him.

According to TMZ, Gene Simmons' lawyers contacted Webmastercentral.com, the company which is responsible for the content on the website promoting the video - ordering them to cease and desist because of copyright infringement.

How is this copyright infringement?

Gene Simmons' lawyers claim the site had no right to use face paint to promote the skin flick, as it has done, because face paint is a KISS trademarked thing.

"I wanna know what love (and copyright infringement) is ... "

Now various reports are saying that the Gene Simmons sex tape is rather old and the copyright owner is ... wait for it ... Gene Simmons!

Apparently, Gene Simmoms got wind of the tape's existence a few years back and bought the rights. So how did it get leaked then?

Also, the sex tape was reportedly shot without Simmons' permission or knowledge - and may well be illegal. Story still developing ...
