As the old saying, goes "the bigger they are, the harder they fall."

Off the face off the planet, that is. In the case of certain celebrities, they're rising superstars one day and mysteriously disappeared sort of has-beens the next.

We're not just asking where are they now. We're asking where are they AT ALL! Have you seen these people? They might as well be on milk cartons ...

After firming up his 90s heart throb resume, Freddie Prinze Jr. went blonde for Scooby Doo and then disappeared. He's busy raising kids with Sarah Michelle Gellar.

While some stars make questionable job choices and inadvertently tank their own careers, the main reason celebrities leave the Hollywood lights is family.

Earlier this week, Freddie Prinze, Jr. bashed Kiefer Sutherland, claiming that his former 24 co-star was so unprofessional that he nearly led Prinze to quit acting altogether.

In a highly unexpected move, Jack Bauer backed away from a conflict for the first time ever, and Sutherland responded to Prinze in remarkably mature fashion.

"Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best," said a rep for Sutherland.

It's admirable of Sutherland to try and take the high road, but if he catches wind of Freddie's explanation for why he was such a nightmare to work with, Kief may be forced to go full Bauer:

Jack Bauer is facing his most unexpected and terrifying enemy yet: criticism.

In an interview with ABC News over the weekend, Freddie Prinze Jr. delved into his single season on 24 and slammed the show's star, saying Kiefer Sutherland almost made him "quit the business."

"It was terrible. I hated every moment of it," Prinze said of his stint as a CTU agent. "Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That's not me talking trash, I'd say it to his face, I think everyone that's worked with him has said that."

He even went on to bash Sutherland's height.

In response, Sutherland's rep has come out and - unfortunately for those who love a good celebrity feud - taken the high road.

Fox's suspenseful hit drama 24 made a much-anticipated return to television recently, but despite solid ratings and reviews, we know of one star who most definitely did not tune in.

Actor Freddie Prinze, Jr. appeared on the series during its original run and recently described it as the worst experience of his professional life:

"I did 24, it was terrible," Prinze told ABC News at Comic Con over the weekend. "I hated every moment of it. I just wanted to quit the business after that. So I just sort of stopped."

So what made the experience so miserable? None other than Jack Bauer himself, Kiefer Sutherland.
