Chad Johnson is stalking and harassing ex-wife Evelyn Lozada online, according to the Basketball Wives star, and she's warning him to stop or else.

Evelyn fired off a cease and desist letter to the former football star after be tore her a new one on Twitter with crude remarks about her alleged cheating.

Ev wants a restraining order if he doesn't STFU ASAP.

Lozada says Chad's Twitter allegations are 100 percent false, and that she never cheated on Chad during their relationship, which ended last year.

The same, obviously, can't be said for him.

Chad Johnson’s arrest for domestic battery is making headlines, but an alleged friend of his says it's not the first violent episode between them.

"Chad didn't like [Evelyn Lozada]'s party lifestyle and it made his anger worsen,” the source added. “He hated the way she acted on [Basketball Wives]."

"He would often lash out at her for any little thing."

The turmoil may have been a long time coming for Chad, whose subsequent release by the Miami Dolphins was even filmed for HBO's Hard Knocks.

Johnson’s pal says that Evelyn Lozada filing for divorce from Johnson just 41 days after they tied the knot does not come as a surprise.

"Chad and Evelyn's marriage was volatile in nature and a mistake from the start,” the friend said, adding that epic fights were almost the norm.

"He [Chad] went off the scale at her once because he was tired of having Evelyn's friends, like her assistant and stuff, living in his house."

The Johnsons' friend also says a group of pals close to the couple were beginning to get very concerned for Lozada’s safety and well-being.

"She told me Chad threatened to kill her one time and that was really a red flag," Radar Online (we know) quotes the insider as alleging.

The short-lived marriage of Evelyn Lozada and Chad Johnson came to an end yesterday in the aftermath of his arrest for domestic violence.

Her discovery of a receipt for condoms, alleged head-butting and 911 call may have been the final straw, but the die was cast long ago.

Chad Johnson (formerly) Ochocinco has been accused of cheating in the past, and now Beverly Shiner, 30, claims she was a participant in said activity.

From January-May of THIS YEAR, with Evelyn elbow-deep in wedding plans.

After first making contact by following him on Twitter, Shiner claims he sent his number in a personal message, inviting her to dinner.

"I Googled him before we met and saw he was engaged, but at the time there were reports that she had broken it off because she thought he was cheating, so I assumed they had broken up," she told Radar, presumably without irony.

It became clear she still lived at his home, however.

"While I was there, he called Evelyn and asked if she could order a pizza to be delivered for him, and even had her pay for it," Shiner said. "I thought it was odd and I wondered if she was really his fiancee or just a secretary."

She's not his fiancee anymore, having filed for divorce yesterday. Chad apologized in a statement to his fans, while wishing Evelyn well.

Shiner, herself a mother of two, revealed that she still railed Chad that night in January ... and more than a few more times in the ensuing months.

Chad Johnson (formerly Chad Ochocinco) was arrested last night for domestic violence. The alleged victim was his wife, Basketball Wives' Evelyn Lozada.

The NFL star is accused of head-butting Lozada during an argument.

Police arrived at the scene to find her with lacerations on her forehead; Lozada went to the hospital for treatment. Crazy. So what started the incident?

According to TMZ, the fight started over condoms in Chad's car. Seriously.

Evelyn Lozada apparently found a receipt for them (not sure which brand or what size) in the couple's Maserati and confronted him about it.

An argument broke out and Chad head-butted Evelyn. The football star reportedly told the cops he butted heads with his wife by accident.

Johnson was in custody in Davie, Fla., as of 8:45 p.m. last night and will have to go before a judge before he can be released on bond.

It's possible he could be there until tomorrow morning. Stay tuned.

Lozada married Chad Ochocinco - who changed his named back to Johnson so his wife wouldn't have to take the name Ochocinco - on July 4.

For what it's worth, the couple briefly called off their wedding earlier this year, allegedly amid rumors of his cheating, before reconciling.

UPDATE: Johnson has been released from jail - and released by the Miami Dolphins, who cut the star 24 hours after this story broke.

The Basketball Wives reality star recently confronted the Chad after she became suspicious about his recent behavior ... and apparently wasn't moved by his reaction.

The couple hasn't split up, but the wedding is off ... for now.

Evelyn Lozada and Chad Ochocinco are (were?) set to marry this summer.

While Evelyn hasn't "officially" cancelled the wedding yet, things aren't looking good right now. It's still unclear if this will be resolved in time ... or at all.

To make matters worse, Chad and Evelyn were supposed to begin shooting their new reality show in just three weeks. That plan is also now up in the air.

Lozada was also at the center of cheating allegations recently - with Terrell Owens no less - but this time it's Ocho who's supposedly been running around.
