Erin Andrews' decision to appear on Dancing With the Stars went far beyond the chance to learn the waltz. The reporter wanted to send a message.

“I wanted to be on a show where millions of people watch and say, ‘If you’re stalked or a victim of video voyeurism you shouldn’t be embarrassed.'"

"You should just live your life.’”

Last year's stunning Erin Andrews nude video scandal, which landed a peephole perv behind bars, was followed by death threats earlier this year.

She said she was “tentative” about appearing on the show, but “I’ve got a Russian on my side that isn’t going to let anyone come near me.”

Speaking of Maksim Chmerkovskiy ...

  • Erin and Maksim Dancing

Erin and Maks remain coy on whether they're an item.

As for whether her relationship with her Dancing with the Stars heats up away from the ballroom floor, Erin joked, “Depends on what day you get us on.”

People magazine and Ellen DeGeneres be damned. As the pair continued on the PR circuit, E!'s Chelsea Handler was not about to beat around the bush.

"Why are you trying to act like you guys aren't penetrating?" she asked.

That got Maks to blush, and Erin to issue an even flimsier denial: "We just don't know what to say," she gushed, "because everyday we read something new."

So do we.

Handler is convinced, though: "You're glowing, you're beaming. You're in love!" she marveled at how the cocky Maks looked asked if Erin made him nicer.

As for the penetrating? Expect more non-denials and on-stage hotness!

Another email targeting ESPN reporter and Dancing with the Stars contender Erin Andrews has been released, and it doesn't exactly make the guy look small time.

He's already made death threats, but now he's getting even more specific, making it crystal clear that he's not to be taken lightly (and needs a team of shrinks).

The loser from Newport News, Va., has been sending sexual and violent emails to Erin Andrews via DirecTV's The Dan Patrick Show since back in September.

The emails turned violent and threatening in late March, right around when she made her debut on Dancing with the Stars with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

He recently wrote, "I would like to see if Erin Andrews can dance her way through a hail of gunfire. Better yet I would love to shoot her with a Barrett rifle."

Erin, Maksim

Erin and Maksim have earned praise on Dancing with the Stars. Unfortunately, a deranged lunatic would like to see her eliminated ... from the show and planet.

That's just a cruel play on words, as her previous stalker - the tool who videotaped Erin Andrews nude in her hotel room illegally - is named Michael David Barrett.

Also scary? A Barrett rifle has a range of over a mile.

Just the same, in spite of this email and others, the FBI is resistant to making an arrest, because authorities believe the author is engaging in protected free speech.

We just hope Erin is protected. Sources familiar with the author say that "he's 6'9" and bulky." Apparently size and height don't correlate to sanity or brainpower.

It will take more than a depraved stalker or threats on her life to prompt Erin Andrews to pack it in prematurely on ABC's Dancing With the Stars.

The ESPN reporter will perform on Monday night's live show despite recent threats by a crazy person to murder her. She says she's in it to win it.

Chaz Waves

"I'm glad I'm here. I don't want to let Maks down, I don't want to let my family down, and I don't want to let myself down," Andrews told People.

"I'm not going to stop living my life."

Erin will perform the waltz with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, her partner and rumored love. She says the time on the dance floor has been therapeutic.

"I don't quit on things. It's not an option for me," the 31-year-old says, having come face-to-face with yet another potentially terrifying situation.

Last month, Illinois resident and certified creep Michael David Barrett was sentenced to 30 months for filming her through a hotel room peephole.

Dude then posted clips of Erin Andrews nude online. We know she's hot, but that's the creepiest, most pathetic thing ever. Enjoy prison, Mike.

And go Erin and Maks tonight!

It's not easy being a gorgeous ESPN sideline reporter.

You may get paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy on Dancing with the Stars, but you'll also get nakedly peeped at by a shady dude in the hotel room next door to you.

Now, news has broken of an even more dangerous situation involving Erin Andrews: multiple sources confirm that a man from Virginia has been sending threatening emails to her since September.

Andrews and her attorney, Marshall Grossman, only recently discovered the messages existed, as they were sent to The Dan Patrick Show (an ESPN program) and kept from Erin until this week.

The emails focus on the case of Michael David Barrett, who was sentenced last month to over two years in federal prison for secretly shooting nude videos of Andrews.

"He refers to Barrett in his e-mail in a way to make clear to us that situation had some influence," Grossman said, adding that the FBI has been notified.

Erin and Maksim

Security on Dancing with the Stars will be increased for Andrews. Why? Just look at how scary and disgusting a few of the emails are:

  • "Dear Dan: I hope Erin Andrews gets murdered in L.A." (3/29/10)
  • "I hope she gets shot in the face. I would love to see if she can dance away from a hail of gunfire. That would really make my day." (3/26/10)
  • "I would love to get close enough to her to show her my suicide vest." (3/14/10)

We'll keep readers apprised of this revolting story as more revelations come to light.

Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy may or may not be dating, officially, but there is definitely something between them. And that something is hot.

When the ESPN reporter got the news she’d be on Dancing with the Stars, she knew she wanted to be paired up with Maksim Chmerkovskiy right away.

Because of his strong work ethic, of course... but also his musk.

“He's ridiculously amazing!” Andrews said on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. “We could be working out for hours and I’ll smell like a guy and he smells like a garden of lilies. I’m like, are you serious? I’ll put on a load of deodorant [and] spray myself up.”

It must help - they've been among the top scorers so far.

Aside from his scent, there are other characteristics drawing Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy to each other. She told producers, “I want somebody that pushes me ... I’ll try to weasel my way out of things. I’ll be like, 'Let’s go get a latte!'"

"But Maks will say 'No. Do this step. Then we leave for latte.'"

Love. It's always give and take, right? And sexual chemistry.

Seriously. She literally asked for it.

“I flat out said to [the producers], I want sexual chemistry,” she admits. “I want to be put with Maks. I don’t care if he makes me cry, I want somebody that’s really hot.”

It'll only help with voters. When that whiner Kate Gosselin stays around and Shannen Doherty gets kicked off, you know it's a popularity contest first and a dancing competition second. Fortunately, Erin and Maks should be quite popular.

Holy freaking hotness. That's all we can say about the rumor that Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, partners on the new season of Dancing with the Stars, are partnering off the dance floor as well. Maks even said it might be on!

Chmerkovskiy says that he and the ESPN sportscaster are "maybe" dating. That's a lot closer to dating than "no," right? He also lavished praise upon his partner.

"She doesn't hold back. She's open, and what you see is what there is," Chmerkovskiy told People magazine. "Everybody who meets her falls in love with her."

Himself included? Sounds like it!

Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy work it.

Chmerkovskiy, who was engaged to fellow Dancing with the Stars cast member Karina Smirnoff for a time, credited himself for pushing Andrews during their first dance together last Monday, which ranked among the season premiere's best.

"I made her do a cha-cha that I would make a professional dancer do," he said, and it paid off, as Erin Andrews isn't shy about gushing about him either.

"When Kentucky was upset, [Maks] texted me about it," the ESPN reporter said of having to miss some of the NCAA tournament for DWTS rehearsal. "Maks was like, 'You are the only person I know that cares about this.' He's been adorable."

Who are you rooting for on Dancing with the Stars? Erin and Maks? We can understand that, but there are other good candidates too. Vote below ...

"You are a sexual predator, a sexual deviant. They should lock you up."

With these words, ESPN reporter Erin Andrews tore into Michael David Barrett, the stalker who pleaded guilty in December to following her to at least three cities and shooting nude videos of her through hotel peepholes without her consent.

"You violated me and you violated all women," Erin said told the total creep and now convicted stalker, who was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for videotaping her.

The Illinois insurance executive gave a tearful apology for the peephole video of Erin Andrews nude, but it fell upon deaf ears and was harshly rebuked by his victim.

In fact, Andrews urged q judge at the hearing to levy an even harsher sentence against Barrett and said that she now fears for her life every time she enters a hotel.

After the sentencing, she said, "Thirty months isn't enough."

NOT ENOUGH: Erin says the perv's 30-month sentence doled out yesterday is not nearly long enough for his creepy behavior. We find it hard to argue with her there.

Michael Barrett, who has until May 3 to surrender, was ordered to have supervised probation for three years after his release and is prohibited from contacting Erin.

He will not be allowed to stay in a hotel without approval of a probation officer and if he accepts employment somewhere, Andrews will be notified by the court.

You can watch Erin Andrews in less creepy fashion beginning next week, when she joins the cast of Dancing with the Stars. Last week, we sized up her chances.

Erin Andrews faced her stalker in court for the first time yesterday.

Not surprisingly, she pleaded with a judge to show no mercy to peephole perv Michael David Barrett, who she broke into tears when she first saw.

Minutes later, the Illinois insurance executive stood before a federal judge and admitted he hunted Andrews down at hotels in three different cities.

While he never encountered her, Barrett said he filmed videos of Erin Andrews nude through her hotel rooms' peepholes and posting them online.

"I am a victim of this sexual predator. I would like to see him immediately put in prison for as long as possible," the ESPN reporter told the court.

"I have nightmares. I walk in crowds and I see him in my peripheral vision. When I'm alone in my house, I have fears he's going to come in and hurt me."

Erin Andrews with her attorney outside the courtroom yesterday.

"I don't know [Michael David Barrett]. I've never met him. I don't know why he chose me. But I hope he never sees the light of day again."

The stalker faces up to five years in prison when he's sentenced on February 22. His plea agreement recommends about two years.

Andrews wants the maximum.

"My career has been ripped apart, something I've worked very hard for," she told Judge Manuel Real. "I am subjected to crude comments, suggestions that I have partnered in this crime. I walk into stadiums, and fans say obscene things to me."

Barrett avoided eye contact with Andrews and pleaded guilty to one felony count of stalking. Hopefully Erin gets what she (and society) wants.

A man accused of surreptitiously shooting footage of gorgeous ESPN reporter Erin Andrews nude in hotels will plead guilty to interstate stalking and harassment.

He is also guilty of being a pervert and a dirty individual.

Group Challenge

Michael David Barrett originally entered a not guilty plea, but has since decided to cut a deal, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.

He could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Erin Andrews' peephole stalker is headed where he belongs.

Barrett was caught after allegedly trying to peddle his Nashville, Tenn., Erin Andrews peephole tape to TMZ. Federal authorities suspected him of stalking Erin.

Sure enough, evidence piled up that he went to at least three hotels in various states and modified peepholes on the doors to shoot his pervy hotel videos.

Enjoy prison, Mike. Five years isn't long enough, creep.
