Whether it makes any difference or not is an open question, but many people feel Eminem lip-synced his performance on Saturday Night Live this weekend.

While the critics generally loved Kerry Washington on SNL, Eminem received mixed reviews after taking the stage to perform his new hit single "Berzerk."

No one's likening the "Rap God" to Milli Vanilli, who couldn't sing in the studio either, or to Britney Spears (you gotta hear her actual vocals), but still.

Take a look below and see if you think it's as obvious as we think:

At times, when the rapper pulled the mic away from his mouth, it sure sounded and looked like the vocals continued at full volume. Even so ... does it matter?

People's view of lip-syncing seems to vary on a case-by-case basis.

Some stars get torn apart for it, others don't. If it's the Super Bowl, people TWEAK. Other times, less so. Similarly, some mask it better than others.

You tell us: Was Eminem lip-syncing on SNL, and does it matter?

Guess who's back, people? Back again?

It's Eminem. Tell your friends!

Yes, the rapper who took some time off over the past couple years has returned in a very big way.

He stopped by the ESPN broadcast booth a few weeks ago and gave one of television's more awkward interviews in awhile.

He recently released "Rap God," a single that is generating controversy for what some deem to be offensive, homophobic lyrics.

Saturday Night Live is about to get very scandalous, in more ways than one.

NBC has announced that Kerry Washington, who is currently starring as Olivia Pope on Scandal Season 3, will host the November 2nd edition of this sketch series.

Serving as the musical guest on this same installment? The Rap God himself, Eminem, who is under some fire at the moment for lyrics in his latest single that many see as being offensive to gays.

SNL has already aired three episodes this season, with Tina Fey opening as host and being followed by Miley Cyrus and Bruce Willis.

Edward Norton (and Janelle Monáe) are on tap for October 26th, while the following Saturday will mark Washington's first hosting gig and Eminem's sixth turn as SNL performer.

Eminem may be a Rap God, but he continues to act like an enemy of the LGBT community.

The artist's newly-released single kicks off with lyrics about breaking "a motherf-cking table over the back of a couple faggots" and goes on to say: "You fags think it’s all a game."

In the second verse, Eminem raps about a "little gay-looking boy" who is "so gay I can barely say it with a straight face-looking boy."

Not all listeners are fans of these words and this isn't the first time Eminem has faced criticism for his seemingly homophobic lyrics.

Eminem is done celebrating his daughter as homecoming queen and is back to focusing on new music.

The artist released the latest track off his upcoming album, "Marshall Mathers LP 2," last night and it has the sort of title that would make Kanye West either proud or jealous: "Rap God."

The song is now available on iTunes and you can give it a listen right here and now:

In anticipation of taking back over the music world, Eminem has also unveiled the Berzerk music video.

Watch it now and sound off: Will you be purchasing his new album?

At Chippewa Valley High School in Clinton Township, Michigan on Friday, the real homecoming queen stood up.

And it was Hailie Scott!

Yes, the 17-year old daughter of Eminem - who was name-dropped multiple times in many of the rapper's early hits - received this honor from her classmates while her dad watched from afar, holed up inside a school building in order to avoid making a scene.

"He wanted Hailie to have her own moment," an unnamed parent told The Macomb Daily, while another onlooker said of Eminem: "He just looked like a proud father."

Think Eminem went a bit berzerk in the ESPN broadcast booth for Michigan versus Notre Dame on Saturday night?

You should see his new music video!

The rapper has released the full version of the video for "Berzerk," which features appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Kid Rock and others, along with a bit of backyard wrestling a one very large boombox.

No, unlike Miley Cyrus in her Wrecking Ball video, Eminem actually wears clothing in the following footage. But it's still worth a viewing or two?

Eminem stopped by the ESPN broadcast booth during halftime of last night's Michigan-Notre Dame game, talking with broadcasters Kirk Herbstreit and Brent Musberger and promoting the video for his new single, "Berzerk."

Sort of.

The appearance has gone viral due to the rapper's zoned-out state, as the artist responded to Musberger's first inquiry with: "Sorry, live TV. Live TV freaks me out a little bit. What was the question?"

It only went downhill from there, much to the amused confusion of Herbstreit. Watch now as Eminem stares into the camera, praises Musberger as a legend and generally looks like he'd rather be anywhere else on the planet:

Eminem has released "Berzerk," the first single from his upcoming album, and promises to "take it back to straight hip-hop / and start it from scratch."

Fittingly, the track is something of an old-school anthem.

With a simple beat and gnashing, classic samples (Beastie Boys and Billy Squier's "The Stroke"), Eminem delivers his lyrics with a familiar flow.

The hook? "Life's too short to not go for broke." Indeed.

"Berzerk" is from Eminem's upcoming eighth album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which drops November 5. Take a listen and see what you think:

What's your reaction to Eminem's "Berzerk"?

Eminem may not have been present during last night's MTV Video Music Awards.

But that doesn't mean the rapper didn't make his presence felt on the music scene.

While viewers were watching Miley Cyrus embarrass herself and Lady Gaga receive wigged-out Applause, Eminem was headlining the Leeds Festival in England and then taking to Twitter to tease his upcoming album:

"Guess who's REALLY back? #VMAs," he wrote to followers.

Indeed, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will be released on November 5, with the first single  ("Berzerk") available to download next week. Watch a teaser for the album now:
