When we think of our neighbors to the North, we mostly think of beer, maple syrup, hockey, and more beer.

But Canada's contributions to the world of entertainment can't be ignored.

Justin Bieber
Bieber was born in London, Ontario. Many Americans wish he'd stayed there.

From truly talented comics like Seth Rogen and Jim Carrey to barely-tolerated hosers like Justin Bieber and...well, that's about it, Canada may not have any stars on its flag, but its got plenty among its people.

Some entries on this list may shock you (Quintessential California beach babe Pamela Anderson is a Canuck?!), while others make perfect sense. (Anyone as polite as Michael Cera must be Canadian!)

So while it may be cold, Canada has produced some stars that are truly hot - former couple Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are both from London Ontario - so check out the gallery above to see what stars pay for their Tim Horton's with toonies, eh?

You'll never catch Ellen Page watching the French Open.

Or Megan Fox checking out any Megan Fox photos in the many magazines for which she poses.

Or, ironically, Pamela Anderson watching the Pamela Anderson sex tape. Not on her television, at least.

Indeed, many celebrities out there are just like us and you: they live with various irrational fears, from tennis balls (seriously!) to mirrors (for real) to chewing gum (you'll never guess who!) and other oddities in between.

Who is walking around with these unexpected phobias? We expose their deep, dark secrets below!

Ellen Page: Tennis Balls!
Page really did one say: "I have a phobia of tennis balls... I’ve always had it. Tennis comes on and I have to get out of the room."

X-Men Days of Future Past star Ellen Page opened up about some of her recurring dreams on Conan last night and we think it's safe to say this girl has more disturbing nightmares than anyone in the history of ever.

Ellen apparently keeps a dream journal and has uncovered some recurring themes that may or may not have unsettling links to one another.

Those themes? Pubic hair, Justin Bieber and Swedish meatballs from Ikea.

Anyone who's ever seen what happens when Bieber tries to grow facial hair knows that the link between the first two is obvious.

But the Bieber-Ikea-meatballs connection has got us stumped.

There are so many Freudian connections there it's hard to know where to begin. Why is Ellen Page dreaming about the Biebs in the context of peg-in-hole furniture assembly?

Actress Ellen Page has spoken out about allegations that director Bryan Singer molested Michael Egan while the latter was still in his teens.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Page described the charges as "super disturbing," adding, "I guess the truth will come out in the way that does, but it's hard to hear about someone being in that position, someone you like working with."

Page, of course, reprises her role as Kitty Pryde in the upcoming film X-Men: Days of Future Past, which was directed by Singer.

"Whatever comes of it," Page says. "I do think there's a systemic issue of people in places of power manipulating and abusing young people."

Two months after coming out as gay via a speech in Las Vegas, Ellen Page taped an appearance this week on Ellen.

Speaking, of course, to one of Hollywood's first openly homosexual celebrities, the actress said she was "the most nervous [she's] ever been in [her] life" prior to making her remarks.

However, "it was a combination of just such thrill to finally be at that place in my life where I was able to do that," Page said. "And grateful to have that moment and grateful to you because you did it at a time where it was much harder and much scarier."

DeGeneres agreed that anyone, in any circumstance, feels better when they are not “carrying around” something they are “ashamed” of.

Sure, Ellen Page came out as gay recently and has since heroically defended LGBT rights and helped make the world a safer, more comfortable place for young men and women who are questioning their sexuality, but clearly her biggest of late is taking her top off for Flare magazine!

Ellen Page Topless Photo

We kid. But seriously, Ellen clearly hit the gym hard for her role in X-Men Days of Future Past.

She talks to Flare about reprising her role as Kitty Pryde in the highly anticipated summer film, but more importantly Ellen opens up about the challenges she faces as a gay woman working in Hollywood:

Disney's Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie and arriving in theaters this spring, also stars Elle Fanning (and Angelina's daughter Vivienne) as Princess Aurora.

As we count down the days until the live-action Sleeping Beauty movie's release, we got to thinking of other celebs that would be perfect as princesses.

If Aurora were a young adult instead of a teenager, we know just who would play her. Ditto Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid's Ariel.

Intrigued yet? Who do you think is our Snow White? Which roles do you think Freida Pinto and The Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev would be fantastic for?

Nina certainly has experience as a doppelganger, after all. See who we paired her with, and the rest of our nine celebrity Disney princess look-alikes below:

Isla Fisher & Ariel
Joanna Garcia holds her own on Once Upon a Time, but we'd say Isla Fisher even better resembles Ariel from The Little Mermaid.

Since coming out as gay last month, Ellen Page has remained relatively silent on the issue of LGBT rights, with her statement saying more than enough for the time being.

The actress, however, couldn't help but respond to criticism from a pastor over the weekend, taking to Twitter and writing a response that has gone viral.

It's unknown exactly what the religious figure said about Page, but the former Juno star replied as follows:

2 da Pastor who wrote me-Being gay isn't a belief. My soul isnt struggling& I don't want arms of Heavenly Father around me.A girls arms? Yes.

HA! Pretty good, huh?

We'll be honest:

We may not have recognized Ellen Page's birthday if it took place just two weeks ago. Yes, we loved the actress in Juno and Inception, but she hasn't done a lot since and she isn't exactly a celebrity gossip staple.

But then Page came out as gay in an especially brave and well-written speech and has been thrust into the spotlight over the past few days.

She turns 27 today and the best gift you can present her with is to listen to each one of her words from last Friday in Las Vegas.

Page has been met with an outpouring of support and admiration from Hollywood.

Someday, the following list will not be necessary.

Someday, celebrities will not need to make any sort of official announcement regarding their sexuality because, quite simply, no one will care and society will be fully accepting of all orientations.

But that day hasn't arrived yet, for reasons explained so eloquently by Ellen Page when she came out as a lesbian on Friday:

Perhaps these stars can make a difference. Maybe they can positively influence others struggling with their sexual identity, using their public platform to push for tolerance.

So, with all that in mind, we join many in Hollywood in saluting Page and other famous folks who are very out and awfully proud:

Ellen Page
Ellen Page made a major announcement in early 2014: She's gay. We applaud her for it.
