Producers of The View are trying to douse recent reports that two of the popular talk show's pundits - conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck and left-leaning Joy Behar - are in the midst of a feud so bitter they are no longer speaking.

The Chicago Sun-Times saysthe animosity between the two - who get into animated on-air debates about the presidential election almost daily - "has gotten so ugly, they only speak on air or when a camera is in their vicinity."

The paper also reports that Behar did "a vicious impression" of Elisabeth Hasselbeck's campaign appearance with Gov. Sarah Palin this past weekend.

This followed one of several bitter clashes last week - during which Hasselbeck claimed she is open-minded and considered voting for Obama, prompting Behar to fire back, "Oh, come on! That's like saying I could have voted for George Bush."

"Are you calling me a liar, Joy?" snapped Hasselbeck, lifting her coffee cup and shoving it toward Behar. "You want some more Barack Obama Kool-Aid or what?"

Whose side of The View feud are you on?

As we reported last week, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the lone conservative voice on ABC's The View, campaigned in the crucial state of Florida over the weekend for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate.

Free of the shackles of Joy Behar and company, Hasselbeck boasted that for a change, she finally got to talk for five minutes without being interrupted.

Here's Elisabeth's introduction of the V.P. nominee in Tampa. In addition to extolling the All-American values of the GOP ticket, Hasselbeck had some harsh words for Barack Obama - especially over the Sarah Palin wardrobe criticism ...

The View's resident conservative pundit, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and the Republican V.P. nominee, Sarah Palin, will be campaigning together in Florida this weekend.

Not only are these two bonded in their conservative views, they're both cuties! In honor of this momentous occasion, we thought we would put it to a survey ...

With all those crazy liberals she works with, The View's resident conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck can't get a word in edgewise on her own talk show.

Fortunately for her, that won't be an issue this weekend as she will be on hand to introduce Alaska Governor Sarah Palin at campaign rallies in Florida.

“I am more than honored to be there, so I will be flying there to travel with her and meet some pretty interesting people,” she said today on The View.

“That’s an honor, I’m excited to do it, and I’ll have some stories I’m sure on Monday,” added Hasselbeck, who was mercifully not maimed by her co-hosts.

You Betcha

Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sarah Palin will share the campaign stage.

According to ABC News, bringing Elisabeth on board comes as the John McCain-Sarah Palin campaign attempts to boost its support among female voters.

Hasselbeck wore a John McCain T-shirt on Tuesday's program, butting heads with liberal co-host Joy Behar as a result and continuing the feud Wednesday.

The presidential election is under two weeks away and tension is rising around the country. The set of The View may be the epicenter of political squabbling.

As usual, the show's resident hot conservative pundit, Elisabeth Hasselbeck clashed with Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar over Barack Obama and taxes. But apparently, that was nothing compared to a confrontation taking place after the broadcast.

Hasselbeck was reportedly pissed that Behar has been using The View to tout Behar's upcoming stand-up performance, which she called "political in nature." Elisabeth, sporting a tight little John McCain t-shirt, demanded equal time.

Joy got in Elisabeth's face, screaming "If you do that again I will burn you down." (!?) Elisabeth turned beet red and started to stammer out something. At that point, Joy turned around and yelled, "Shut the f*%k up!" and stormed off.

Just another week at the office.

You gotta love Elisabeth Hasselbeck. From an entertainment standpoint, at least.

Whether she's hating on abortion or the morning after pill, promoting the war Iraq, or telling people when they can and can't use the n-word, The View's resident blonde, conservative motormouth never shies away from voicing her opinions.

Debate over the presidential election is heating up and Elisabeth sparred again with her co-hosts over Barack Obama's ties to Bill Ayers again yesterday.

Just a typical day on The View.

Barbara Walters wasn't pronouncing the letter R, Whoopi Goldberg sounded surprisingly level-headed, and best of all, Elisabeth Hasselbeck incurred the rage of Sherri Shepherd when she went on her latest diatribe against Barack Obama.

At least that went better than her defending Sarah Palin.

FAMILIAR VIEW: In an election year with her beloved party's approval ratings in the toilet, Elisabeth Hasselbeck takes another beating - almost literally - on The View.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck cannot defend Sarah Palin as a candidate for Vice President.

But the conservative talk show host can shoot down rumors that she's leaving The View for a position at Fox News.

"While Elisabeth [Hasselbeck] has a great relationship with Fox News, there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that she is leaving The View," her agent yesterday. "Elisabeth is passionate in her beliefs and enjoys being a part of this dynamic group of women and engaging in daily conversations."

Give Elisabeth Hasselbeck credit for standing up for her beliefs, and for putting up with Rosie O'Donnell for so long.

You gotta hand it to Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

On The View today, the resident conservative hot mess at least gave it the ol' college try, attempting to explain why Sarah Palin is qualified to be U.S. President.

Sarah Palin in NYC

Unfortunately, that's more than an ambitious task, it's impossible, as the clip below shows. Too bad she couldn't pull a Tina Fey and ask for a lifeline at the end.

Might Elisabeth Hasselbeck be leaving The View?

While this may cause many liberals to get more excited than they are over the news that the Sarah Palin love-fest has been replaced by the Sarah Palin consternation-fest, this possibility actually saddens The Hollywood Gossip staff.

Hasselbeck admirably stands up for her conservative opinions on the talk show. There's nothing wrong with that. It makes for solid debate.

But “Elisabeth feels she can’t win at The View, but she’s been told by friends at FOX News that they’d find a spot for her without hesitation,” The National Enquirer reports. “Elisabeth is just as tired of the ladies at The View as they are of her! She feels she constantly has to defend herself."

Do you wanna see Elisabeth Hasselbeck stay or go?
