The golfer and his estranged wife are trying to strike agreements on custody and division of assets. Once they do, they'll quietly and quickly file divorce papers.

This according to sources very familiar with the situation.

Not surprisingly, the important thing for both Tiger and Elin Woods, aside from equitable sharing of their kids, is keeping the terms of the divorce confidential. 

Tiger Woods has a divorce lawyer team working on this, including West Palm Beach lawyer Thomas Sasser, an expert in child custody in multiple jurisdictions.

His goals? Privacy and keeping his legal options open.

Elin and Tiger Woods' divorce looks inevitable at this point.

One of the options is to actually file for divorce in Sweden, where Elin wants to move with the kids. Tiger would have to submit to the jurisdiction of the court.

Wherever the divorce is filed, the plan is to take whatever measures are necessary to keep the custody and property settlement agreements out of court files.

The quicker and quieter the divorce, the better.

The big issue, according to insiders, is that Tiger wants either custody or visitation, and assurance that he can go to court and enforce the deal if Elin violates it. 

Tiger wants the option to go to either a Swedish or American court to enforce whatever custody agreement is in place, should Elin Nordegren Woods break it.

As of right now, the couple has not reached agreement on any of the major issues ... don't expect a huge press release to be sent out when and if they do.

After spending two weeks with her family and friends in Sweden, Elin Nordegren Woods and her children – Sam, and Charlie - are back in Orlando, Fla.

Not with Tiger Woods. Just back in Orlando.

She's rumored to be starting over in Sweden, and it's clear Elin Woods feels at home in her native country. She and her mother, Barbro Holmberg, celebrated the traditional holiday of Valborg, on the last of April, marking the arrival of spring.

"During the holiday, Elin was seen walking the streets of Gävle with her mom and kids," a source said. "She has had protection by bodyguards 24/7."

What's Elin Woods' next move?

Last Friday, she left her digs in Stockholm with the children to travel north and enjoy the holiday at her mother's large apartment in the Gävle. She was photographed jogging with her wedding ring off along the river Gävlean.

According to a published report in Sweden, security is heavy. When Elin and the children were inside of the castle, the guards were on duty outside.

On Monday evening Elin and the children said goodbye to Holmberg and returned to Stockholm to prepare for their flight back to Orlando.

Will she file to divorce Tiger now that she's back?

No one knows for sure. All that's certain is this: "The next few months will be very interesting in the life of Elin and Tiger Woods," a source said.

"Despite the gossip, the most important thing to Elin is the fate of her children."

We all know the familiar faces on the list of Tiger Woods mistresses - a list so long we lose count. It's a surely incomplete list, but that matters very little.

When you cheat on your wife that regularly with cocktail waitresses and porn stars, the scope of your infidelity remains the same regardless of the total.

Plus, pinpointing the number of total chicks Tiger Woods bedded? Impossible ... for mere mortals. Never underestimate the venerable National Enquirer.

According to that fine publication, Tiger admitted in therapy that he cheated with as many as 120 women while married to Elin Woods - 120 mistresses!

Yet, while coming clean, he reportedly failed to mention the one-night stand he knew would destroy his shaky marriage ... #121 was the really bad one.

Regardless, the serial cheater hid from therapists - and Elin Woods - this "shocking" conquest, which was the sexual encounter that drove Elin to divorce.

Really, guys? After the first 110 hoes, she didn't see his true colors?

It's worth noting that she has not filed for divorce yet, and the Enquirer claims that she reacted as such only after the Enquirer was revealing the story. 

What total nonsense, yet utterly impossible to disprove. Pulitzer-worthy coverage of John Edwards and Rielle Hunter, and accusations of "stunning" affairs between Barack Obama and Vera Baker notwithstanding, this is what they're good at.

She may not be out of the Woods ... but she's leaving him in the dust.

While Tiger was missing the cut at the Quail Hollow Championship, his wife, Elin Nordegren, went for a jog over the weekend in her native Sweden.

Her wedding ring? Nowhere in sight. Her form-fitting track suit? Holla!

Since Tiger's affair with Rachel Uchitel and double life was exposed in November, Elin's ring finger has been photographed only a handful of times.

It came off, then was back on, now is off again. Hmm ...

WOMAN ON THE RUN: Far, far away from Tiger!

Elin Woods, who is said to be starting over in Sweden minus her estranged husband, is known for keeping a low profile and has not filed for divorce.

However, you have to wonder how long it will be before that formally happens - at this point, it's looking more like a question of who will file first.

Reports say Nordegren is moving ahead with plans to divorce the wealthy Woods, even though a source told the magazine that she "still loves him."

"She knew she'd set a bad example for the kids if she stayed," a source said.

Pretty much.

Elin Nordegren is so over Tiger Woods. That's the consensus from everything we've read, and it's hard to blame the woman. But is Tiger over his wife, as well?

All indications are still that a divorce is "100 percent happening," and it's not just the endless parade of cocktail waitress mistresses that solidified their fate.

"The writing is on the wall," says a well-versed source close to Tiger. "He committed to several additional golf tournaments, which effectively says eff you, Elin."

"She was not in support of him returning to golf. His self-imposed hiatus didn't last; he screwed up at the Masters and left his calm, collected image in ruins."

The insider, who has dealings with Tiger Woods both professionally and socially, believes an official divorce announcement could be a mere few days away.

Still, this is Tiger Woods Inc. Even the specifics of how the divorce will be announced has potential to be quite the protracted battle between Tiger and Elin.

"Even [the divorce] will be negotiated," the source says. "Does [Tiger] take the high road and 'allow' her to file, or can he not stand the idea of people thinking he wasn't in control? What will the statement say regarding custody?"

"Right now, you'd think he'll be bargaining for joint physical custody when she'll surely want to piss him off and file for sole custody. As for spousal/child support? I daresay things are about to get even juicer than you think."

Really? We're thinking pretty juicy stuff.

If we were Elin, we'd take a cue from the Sandra Bullock-Jesse James divorce and get the ball rolling ASAP. What's the use in dragging it out? Give up. Move on.

She supposedly wants to start over in Sweden. Hopefully, if Tiges respects his soon-to-be former wife and kids, he'll just bow out and let her do it up.

This would make sense from a business standpoint, too. His PR blitz wouldn't exactly get a boost from preemptively ditching the wife ... if she does, though?

Maybe, just maybe, the public sees Tiger Woods as a sympathetic figure, or at least a guy who got what he deserved and can now move on to better things.

Updating previous reports, Tiger Woods’ wife Elin supposedly wants to return to live in her native Sweden, according to sources close to the situation.

Elin is currently in that country with the couple’s two young kids. Tiger said he spent time with family after the Masters, but he's certainly not there.

While he lives the single life in Florida and resumes his golf career, Elin is making plans for a life after she divorces Tiger, a source told Radar Online.

“Divorce is openly discussed,” the source said.

"And a deal will be worked out."

It looks like time may be running out on this marriage.

Tiger and Elin’s marriage took a turn for the worst in recent months after the embattled couple seemed to get closer when Tiger came out of sex rehab.

While no Tiger Woods divorce papers have been filed yet, they barely talk to each other and live separately, although they have been extremely civil.

If Elin does wish to move back to Sweden, however, that is sure to concern the world's #1 golfer, who does not want his son and daughter so far away.

The issue has not become a problem yet but is now looming over the divorce situation as she keeps building what looks like a new, independent life.

Elin Woods and the children are currently on vacation in Sweden and she has begun extensive renovations on the home she recently purchased there.

What should Elin Woods do?

We hear Sweden is lovely this time of year.

Too bad Tiger Woods won't get to experience its natural splendor. Instead, he's livin' the swingin' single life while the wife and kids vacation there.

Elin Woods whisked away their two kids Sam, 2, and son Charlie, 14 months, for a trip to her home country earlier this week to visit her family.

An insider says "nonstop construction" continues on a house Elin purchased last year, prompting speculation that she's moving home for good.

"Working hard" to speed up renovations, "She and the kids are going to be spending most of the summer there," a source says. "Without Tiger."

As for beyond the summer?

At the top of Elin's to-do list is divorcing Tiger Woods, the world's #1 golfer and likely its #1 philanderer of moderately hot cocktail waitresses.

"It's 100% happening," the insider says of the divorce, which is ridiculous, as the source has no name, and neither Tiger or Elin confirmed it.

"Elin and her mom met with a lawyer."

Well, that clears it up, doesn't it?

Don't get us wrong, we fully expect them to split up. But to call it "100%" at this point is absurd, given the amount of things up in the air and lack of concrete information to go on. At the very least it's a ways off, as the source acknowledges:

"It's going to take a long time to go through. [But] she will go through with it. She is all about being a mom. She will do it slowly and carefully."

What SHOULD Elin do?

While Elin Nordegren is away, Tiger Woods will play ... sort of.

It remains to be seen what becomes of the golfer's marriage, but he and his estranged spouse certainly appear to be living separate lives right now.

While Elin took the kids to Sweden on a vacation sans Tiger, the star attended a Nickelback concert and partied backstage surrounded by security.

Earlier that night, he and friends dined together in a restaurant, believed to be his first public outing since the sex scandal that broke last November.

Partying like a rock star? Maybe. Maybe not. But the wife and kids were clearly nowhere in sight, and all indications are that Elin is so over Tiger.

Is Elin Woods preparing to leave Tiger for good?

Tiger’s venture back into the Orlando nightlife was described as tame as he enjoyed himself with a group, was seen by many and didn’t demand any favors.

No cocktail waitresses were seen ... well, except if they were serving drinks.

While this isn't being called an official separation, the couple has already been separated for some time. Elin is planning to spend time in Sweden visiting friends and family while considering what she wants to do about her marriage.

By the time Elin returns, they will have spent only three nights in the same city in a month, as the trip is her fourth without Tiger in the last three weeks.

Tiger is due to play a tournament at Quail Hollow near Charlotte, N.C. No word yet on whether he'll be teeing off for the first time as an official bachelor.

Elin flew to Sweden with a single stop after leaving Orlando, Fla., yesterday, arriving in her native country around 4:30 a.m. local time via private jet.

While European airports had been closed due to the ash cloud from a recent Icelandic volcano, flights recently had been allowed back into Sweden.

The trip to Sweden is being characterized as a vacation, not a life-changing event, by a source familiar with the situation, but just the same makes one wonder.

The couple's continued separation - vacationing separately, spending virtually no time together since relations cooled last month - makes their struggle clear.

Her vacation also follows separate reports last week that Elin will be moving back to Sweden full time once the renovations on her home there are complete.

Elin Woods has taken four trips without Tiger in the past several weeks, including four nights in Arizona overlapping with Tiger’s comeback at the Masters.

Tiger’s relationship with her has been icy, with tension over Tiger’s return to golf, and rumors swirling that Elin will divorce Tiger - it's just a matter of when.

Tiger Woods has returned to golf, but his cheering section is about to decline by one, as Elin Nordegren consults divorce lawyers in Florida and California.

According to reports, the former model has not spent one night with her husband since he returned from sex rehab in time to prepare for The Masters.

Instead, Elin Nordegren Woods stays in the Isleworth community near their Orlando, Fla., home in a separate house with their two kids and nannies.

"Elin is over Tiger, it's time to get her house in order," says a source in Orlando, who says it's less of a question of if Elin will divorce Tiger, but when.

As we reported this week, Nordegren is talking to lawyers about divorce possibilities, and when and if she files, it will most likely go down in Florida.

Elin Woods reportedly has a prenup that would pay $20 million if she stays married for 10 years, but has had legal experts pursue sweetening the deal.

Unconfirmed reports say Woods offered an additional $80 million in a revised prenup, but even that won't make her put up with (or put out for) him.

One thing that is confirmed is that she bought a $2 million Swedish home on a secluded island and is fixing it up. Is she moving to Sweden for good?

Elin, reports say, will soon go to her new Swedish home for a visit. What's unclear is if she comes back ... not that a divorce would be quick or easy.

In Florida, where there are children involved, the law requires a three-month parental counseling course before any divorce would become legal.

Florida has done this to try to decrease divorces and protect the children in hopes of changing the mind of the parent who wants to sever the ties.

Also, if Elin Woods does divorce Tiger, the assets are so numerous, it could take more than a year to review them all and hammer out logistics.

Bottom line if/when she does? Tiger is going to get reamed. Nothing is official yet, but what do you think Elin Woods should do?
