Tracey Edmonds and Eddie Murphy: A Traditional Couple
Eddie Murphy has supposedly taken home a transvestite prostitute and denied being the father of Melanie Brown's baby.
Nevertheless, the actor and Tracey Edmonds are suddenly a model, traditional couple.
"We haven't moved in together yet. We're waiting until we get married," Edmonds told People.
Wow. That's sort of refreshing to hear, in an age where Nicole Richie and Tameka Foster got knocked up before even walking down the aisle.
"I think it's going to be fun for my kids, because it's [been] just the three of us. If you come to my house, it's very peaceful, very quiet, and I think it's going to be fun for them to have other brothers and sisters to play with," Edmonds said.
Tracey closed by saying Eddie was a "great father," you know, when he actually wants to be and all.
Melanie Brown Holds Press Conference to Diss Eddie Murphy
Melanie Brown has learned a lot from Brynn Cameron:
Complain to celebrity gossip reporters about your lazy baby's daddy and watch the money pour in!
Scary Spice, however, has taken it up a notch from lessons learned from the former girlfriend of Matt Leinart: she and her lawyer Gloria Allred, addressed ongoing paternity issues with Eddie Murphy during a press conference yesterday.
People reports that Allred, who claims that Murphy "has not paid one penny of child support" for the former couple's daughter, said she plans to ask the court to award child support and "to decide what is reasonable."
Allred said she has filed a paternity case against Murphy to legally establish that he is the father of their nearly 4-month-old daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, a celebrity baby with far less air time than Sean Preston or Jayden James.
"We've had communication with his attorney, and now we're moving forward," she said at the press conference. The papers are sealed because they concern a child, she added.
"[The fiance of Tracey Edmonds] was promising to do the right thing, but to date he has not done the right thing," said Allred. "Mr. Murphy can have all the babies he chooses to have, but his responsibility needs to be to his own children. [Brown] is seeking sole physical and legal custody."
Allred referred to the "big diamond ring" Murphy bought Edmonds as proof that this actor is very well off... despite the performance of Norbit at the box office.
Brown, wearing a white dress and trying to look at innocent as Jessica Simpson, told the gathered reporters:
"I am here for one reason and one reason only â" her name is Angel. Angel is my baby and Eddie's. She will always know that she was planned and wanted by both of us, but I want her to know that she has two parents who desire to be responsible for her during her life and who love her so much that they want to be a part of it."
Brown gave birth to the baby girl on April 3. She said from the beginning that Murphy was the father, but he reacted oppositely from Larry Birkhead, initially questioned that claim. He finally took the DNA test in June.
Eddie Murphy & Tracey Edmonds to Get Married
As Usher and Tameka Foster continue to cancel weddings, Eddie Murphy will now be planning another one. The actor proposed to girlfriend Tracey Edmonds with a huge yellow diamond engagement ring this past week.
Of course, the couple now hopes its relationship goes better than Eddie's previous one with Melanie Brown. That union ended with a DNA test and some mean words exchanged between the former lovers. Oh, and a baby.
Meanwhile, Murphy's first wedding to Nicole Mitchell in 1993 was the sort of lavish $1.5 million affair that we're guessing Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt dream about; it's ranked in the top ten most expensive celeb weddings of all time by Forbes.
This one, a friend told OK! magazine, "will be a private wedding. Something low key and very romantic."
That statement may get lost in the pages of OK!, however, as readers focus on the crazy Britney Spears meltdown instead.
Melanie Brown: Eddie Murphy Was to Marry Me
Stop hogging all the Spice Girls' headlines, Victoria Beckham! Scary Spice has something to say...
Melanie Brown says that ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy not only knew about the baby the couple made together, but had promised to marry her after the birth of their now 3-month-old daughter.
"This was a completely planned pregnancy," Brown said, as reported by People magazine. "This wasn't some random, 'Oops I fell over and I'm pregnant.' I don't live my life like that. I'm a responsible parent and have been a responsible single parent since I got divorced."
The singer then got into detail regarding how, like Usher and Tameka Foster, her and Murphy conceived: "As soon as I had my IUD removed we proceeded to get pregnant. It happened quicker than we expected but it was perfect timing."
Well, maybe not perfect. You know, considering Murphy denied he was the father of Angel Iris Murphy until a DNA test proved it.
Like Larry Birkhead must have felt at someone actually not wanting to be a dad, Brown says that seeing the Dutch TV clip sparked a variety of reactions.
"I laughed because that wasn't the guy that I knew who told me he wanted to have a baby and get married," she said. "I just didn't believe it. When I saw it my heart dropped down to my gut."
In the end, though, Brown cryptically talked about the differences in her and Eddie's lifestyles.
"I have a house where it's about my kids and me. I don't have people knocking on my door at 3 and 4 in the morning."
We know that sounds shady, but it was probably just Lindsay Lohan wanting to know if Murphy was interested in a drunken, late-night drive.
Tracey Edmonds and Eddie Murphy: It's Not Over
To quote Chris Daughtry: It's not over.
While other famous couples are calling it quits, Tracey Edmonds is shooting down rumors that she and Eddie Murphy and have split up, telling People magazine the pair is actually "very happy."
Celebrity gossip rumors had surfaced this week that Murphy and Edmonds had broken up due to the stress of the paternity case between Murphy and his former girlfriend, Spice Girl Melanie Brown.
"I did hear about the false rumor. That is absolutely not true," Edmonds, a film producer who started dating Murphy last fall for some reason.
Edmonds, whose divorce from singer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds was finalized in June, said that "the paternity test had no impact on our relationship."
But perhaps it did on other relationships, considering the large number of celebrity break-ups this week. Kim Porter is no longer going out with Diddy.
Paul Sculfor has ditched Jennifer Aniston.
And Pete Doherty looks to be more into doing drugs than Kate Moss. But at least Tracey and Eddie can remind people that love still exists.
Yes, Eddie: Murphy is Father of Melanie Brown's Baby
Here's something far less shocking than the release of Harry Potter spoilers:
Results of the DNA test taken by Eddie Murphy on June 11 were reportedly received by Melanie Brown on Thursday. And, lo and behold, here's the father of her baby!
"He's the baby's father, it's official. The baby is undoubtedly, 110 percent his," a source said and Access Hollywood reported regarding the Brown/Murphy saga. "There was no doubt in people's minds anyways, least of all [Brown's]. It wasn't a surprise to her. She knew all along."
The 32-year-old singer gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown on April 3. On the birth certificate, Brown listed the child's last name as Murphy. The little one, like Dannielynn, should be happy to finally have a real papa now.
A rep for the complete and utter deadbeat father Murphy declined to comment on this latest report. But The Hollywood Gossip will speak up: Be a man like Larry Birkhead and take responsibility, Eddie.
Eddie-N-A: Murphy Submits to Paternity Test
Is Eddie Murphy is the dad of former Spice Girl Melanie Brown's baby, Angel Iris Murphy Brown (really, that's her name)?
This paternity question hasn't attracted anywhere near the attention given to Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern (now Dannielynn Birkhead when Larry Birkhead was named the father), the adorable daughter of the late Anna Nicole Smith.
But it's still in question... for not much longer. Eddie Murphy, who Brown, 32, has always insisted is her child's father, is due to appear in an L.A. court on Monday to submit to a paternity test.
"Mel knows the baby is Eddie's and can't believe it has got to this point where she has to force him to acknowledge there is a chance he could be the father," a source tells The Sun.
The comedian, who is now with Tracey Edmonds, has so far refused to admit paternity of 2-month-old Angel Iris, born in April.
During an appearance last December on the Dutch talk show RTL Boulevard, Murphy, 46, was asked if he was happy with Mel "since she's pregnant with your child."
"You're being presumptuous because we're not together anymore," Murphy said. "And I don't know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn't jump to conclusions, sir."
On a similar note, don't believe that Britney Spears and Lynne Spears have buried the hatchet just yet. Much as we are all praying this is the case, we must exercise temperance.
Murphy is reportedly supposed to be in London promoting Shrek The Third with costars Cameron Diaz and Mike Myers, but insiders doubt that he would skip out on the DNA test.
"If he tries to duck out of this test, there will be all hell to pay," says the source.
Melanie Brown (a.k.a. Mel B, a.k.a. Scary Spice) is also scheduled to attend the hearing.
If Murphy shows up, it will be the first time the former couple has come face to face since the Dreamgirls actor dumped her for Edmonds, a film producer, last year.
The source adds:
"At least this way they will know officially whether Eddie is the daddy or not and move on from there. This is about Angel knowing for sure who her dad is."
Or whether Brown can make serious bank off Murphy, who makes $20 million a picture. Even for films like Norbit. But that's neither here nor there.
All of a sudden, Victoria Beckham looks like one of the more sane Spice Girls. As much as we poke fun at her, there's no doubt those kids are the spawn of David Beckham.
Melanie Brown to Eddie Murphy: Be a Man
Eddie Murphy might know a lot about comedy.
But he could learn a thing or two dozen about being a father from Larry Birkhead.
Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown, who gave birth to her daughter Angel Iris a month ago today, claims that not only does Murphy know that he's the dad of her baby, but the pregnancy was planned!
Last December, Murphy had the nerve to publicly deny that he fathered the child, telling a Dutch television station Brown had something in common with Anna Nicole Smith: "We don't know whose child it is until it comes out and has a blood test."
Now, Brown tells Extra that Murphy is refusing to take a paternity test.
"The crazy thing is, this baby was planned, and he knows it's his," Brown said. "This is what is mind-boggling."
"Be responsible. It's as simple as that," Melanie rightfully told her ex-boyfriend.
And you can't fault her for saying so. The comedian's behavior is stranger than how another former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham, flaunts her giant boobs.
The baby was even born on the Murphy's birthday, prompting Brown to joke: "I think my child has a cosmic sense of humor."
Perhaps. But no way she's funnier than Ruby Sweetheart.
A Scary Decision: Melanie Brown Names Baby After Eddie Murphy
Dannielynn may soon have company in the land of troubled tykes.
Despite the fact that Eddie Murphy has denied fathering her baby, former Spice Girl Melanie Brown has named her new daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown... in honor of the comedian.
"Melanie spent a while deciding on the baby's name," a friend of the singer tells People magazine. "It was inspired by a number of things."
On Tuesday - before meeting up with other Spice Girls - Brown, who lives in Los Angeles, explained the name in a brief statement released through her London reps.
"Angel, as she was my little angel through my pregnancy," she said. "Iris, as it's my grandma's name, Murphy because [Eddie Murphy] is the dad and Brown because I'm the mum!"
Angel Iris is the second child for the former Scary Spice. She has an 8-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi, with her ex-husband, dancer Jimmy Gulzar.
In March, Murphy's new girlfriend, film producer Tracey Edmonds, told Chicago's Power 92 radio station of Murphy: "There'll be a paternity test and if it's his then he'll be responsible."
Once that takes place, we just hope Eddie takes the sort of action that Larry Birkhead has so notable followed through on.
Melanie Brown Gives Birth to Possible Eddie Murphy Baby
Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown welcomed a baby girl early Tuesday.
"The baby is completely healthy with a good head of hair," a rep for Brown said in a statement. "Mother and baby are now resting. No name has been decided on as yet and she is purely known as Baby Brown."
Hey, that's a better name than most celebrity babies end up with.
Scary Spice, 31, was taken to Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif., at around 5.30 Monday and the baby was born just after midnight Tuesday.
The new arrival - who weighed in at 5 lb., 4 oz. - joins 8-year-old sister Phoenix Chi, Brown's daughter with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar.
The paternity of the new baby, however, is in question.
Brown has said that her ex-boyfriend, Eddie Murphy - who shares a birthday with the infant and turned 46 Tuesday - is the father. But he has disputed that claim.
"I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test," Murphy said on a Dutch TV show (possibly the same one just frequented by Snoop Dogg) in December when asked about impending fatherhood.
"You shouldn't jump to conclusions, sir."
Brown later released a statement saying she was "upset and distressed" by Murphy's comments. In March, Murphy's new girlfriend, film producer Tracey Edmonds, told Chicago's Power 92 radio station of Murphy and Brown:
"Without me getting too deep into it, they had a quick relationship before I even got into that, before I got into a relationship with Eddie... So that's like their business that's going on. There'll be a paternity test and if it's his then he'll be responsible."
This paternity test battle comes just as Larry Birkhead and Howard K. Stern are embroiled in a similar fight over the rights to the late Anna Nicole Smith's baby daughter Dannielynn. Only they both want to be the dad.
Regardless of what happens with Melanie Brown's situation, The Gossip would like to welcome another beautiful celebrity baby. We're sure former Spice Girl and fellow new mom Emma Bunton shares that sentiment.
