Loretta Fuddy, the director of Hawaii's Department of Health who verified President Obama's birth certificate, died in a small plane crash this week.

A commercial plane carrying Fuddy went down off the coast of the Hawaiian island Molokai Wednesday. The respected state health official was 65.

Fuddy is best known nationally as the Hawaii official who verified and approved the public release of Barack Obama's birth certificate in 2011.

Fuddy said the documents "prove the fact that he was born in Hawaii." Naturally, birthers weren't about to let her tragic death pass without mockery.

Early reports indicate that the plane she was in suffered catastrophic engine failure, and that the other eight passengers on board were rescued.

Naturally, many Tweets, comments, and web posts from the "movement" quickly insinuated that Fuddy's death in the Cessna crash was no accident.

Some implied that the White House was "tying up loose ends," or that those with ties to Obama's past tend to have a "shortened life span."

And, of course, the King of the Birthers, Donald Trump, weighed in:

Move over, Hillary Clinton and Chris Christie. And make room for - GULP! - The Donald.

The New York Post reports that Donald Trump has spent over $1 million on exploratory research to determine whether he ought to run for President of the United States in 2016.

Donald Trump in 2016?

The Celebrity Apprentice host has been speaking at various Republican events over the last few weeks, trying to combine modesty with his trademark hubris.

“Everybody tells me, ‘Please run for president. Please run for president," he said last week in front of 2,300 supporters in Michigan, adding:

"I’d be happy if President Obama did a great job. I’m a Republican, but before anything, I love this country. I would love to see somebody come in who is going to be great.”

Worst. Negotiators. Ever.

Donald Trump is slamming the GOP over the fiscal cliff deal that lawmakers reached in the last 48 hours, saying Republicans "may be the worst negotiators in history."

Donald Trump Sucks

The real estate mogul's harsh words concerned the last-minute compromise reached by V.P. Joe Biden and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

The U.S. Senate passed legislation to avert the fiscal cliff - a series of tax increases and budget cuts set to take place January 1 - on New Year's Eve.

Well, you have one person on your side, Donald Trump.

But it's someone the world may hate even more than you these days.

Ann Coulter - who is facing criticism from all sides for referring to Barack Obama as a retard - appeared on Hannity last night and was asked about The Donald's pledge to give $5 million to charity in exchange for the President's full college transcripts.

"I love it," the conservative commentator said. "[Republicans] need somebody like Donald Trump on our side."

Do you agree?

So, who is the worst human being on the planet?

Donald Trump tried to drop a bombshell on the 2012 Presidential Election this afternoon... only for it to land with a thud.

The real estate mogul will donate $5 million to a charity of Barack Obama's choice if POTUS unveils his college transcripts?!? That's an offer, not a piece of news.

As you might expect, the non-reveal made for some entertaining Twitter fodder. We've collected some of the best celebrity-based responses below...

Patton Oswalt: "Ransom needy kids for attention! Do it! DO IT!" -- @realDonaldTrump's possessed scalp-mop, which apparently controls him."

Damon Lindelof: "Donald Trump's bold gambit is kinda like Mel Gibson's in RANSOM, except incredibly f--king stupider…Mr. President, I too will write a $5 million check, but only if you can MAKE YOURSELF ACTUALLY TRANSPARENT. (a la Violet from Incredibles)."

Donald Trump's much-touted Obama "bombshell" announcement really wasn't much of one ... although he did make an intriguing offer to the President.

The Donald claimed credit for getting the President to release his birth certificate last year, then called on him to be fully transparent with the public.

If Obama releases his college transcripts, passport applications and other records by October 31, Trump will cut a $5 million check to his charity of choice.

That's it. As PR stunts go, not his best work.

As many predicted, Trump focused on Obama's perceived lack of transparency, though he sort of misled us into thinking he actually had some new info on the guy.

Anyway, should Obama take Trump up on it?

What does Donald Trump's Obama bombshell - which he claims is so important it could maybe possibly influence the election - consist of exactly?

He's not saying until tomorrow, when he'll reveal something HUGE about the President on Twitter. Seriously. This guy is like a caricature of himself.

  • Blowhard
  • You Da President

What could Donald Trump possibly have on Barack Obama that no one would've found by now? We can only speculate ... and put it to a poll below!

You tell us: What's Trump's big reveal?

Move over, Gloria Allred. Donald Trump will see your "October surprise" and raise you “gigantic” bombshell about President Barack Obama, which he plans to drop mid-week.

Trump claims whatever he has on the Prez "could swing the election."

  • Birther
  • P-O-T-U-S

The die hard Republican, who considered running against Obama himself at one point, is planning to reveal the shocker via Twitter at some point on Wednesday, he told Fox News.

What is it, exactly?!

Conservative columnist George Will slammed Donald Trump as a moronic blowhard this weekend, prompting a blistering, unintentionally hilarious response from the Celebrity Apprentice star, who has been campaigning with Mitt Romney.

The GOP presidential candidate has taken a lot of heat for appearing with Trump at a campaign fundraiser. Will criticized the move, as well as Trump personally.

“I do not understand the cost-benefit here,” Will said on ABC’s This Week. “The costs are clear. The benefit - what voter is going to vote for him because of Donald Trump?"

"The cost of appearing with a bloviating ignoramus is obvious, it seems to me."

Will-Trump

"Donald Trump is redundant evidence that if your net worth is high enough, your IQ can be very low and you can still intrude into American politics.”

Bloviating ignoramus ... wow. George Will FTW. Fortunately, Trump took the high road with his response ... just kidding. Did you really fall for that?

“George Will may be the dumbest (and most overrated) political commentator of all time,” he tweeted. “If the Republicans listen to him, they will lose.”

Oh, and it continues. He adds: “Losers such as George Will and Rosie O'Donnell use me to get publicity for themselves. They are strictly third rate.”

“George Will totally ‘bombed’ at The Mar-a-Lago Club. I was there to watch. He was embarrassed and no longer likes Donald Trump.”

Yes ... what you just witnessed is Trump insulting Will AND name-checking his own elite Palm Beach real estate property! The Donald FTW!

Will did speak at the Trump’s opulent Palm Beach club ... in 1995. He has yet to respond to the Mar-a-Lago crack ... and really, how do you recover from that?!

Donald Trump endorsed Mitt Romney today in Las Vegas, Nev., contrary to earlier reports that he would get behind Newt Gingrich for the GOP nomination.

"Mitt is tough. He is smart," Trump said, Romney at his side at a Las Vegas hotel bearing his name. "It is my honor, and privilege to endorse Mitt Romney."

Perhaps not coincidentally, Trump's announcement comes two days before the Nevada caucuses, and 10 days before the premiere of Celebrity Apprentice.

Probably more so the latter.

Mitt and Don

While some questioned whether Romney, a clear favorite in Nevada, would even want the endorsement of Trump, the Republican said he was glad to have it.

"It means a great deal to have the endorsement of Mr. Trump," Romney said, referring to the publicity maven the same way contestants on his show do.

Trump told reporters in Las Vegas ahead of the official announcement that he would hit the campaign trail on behalf of the Republican front-runner.

"Well they'd like me to and I'll do as much as I can," Trump said, adding that he would also consider donating to the Super PAC supporting Romney.

Several media outlets, including CBS News, The AP and The New York Times, erroneously reported that Trump would endorse Newt Gingrich instead.

Trump blamed the Gingrich campaign for spreading that word. Referring to the Gingrich campaign, he said: "They put that out. You know that right?"

If so ... what an epic fail by Newt.
