Dog the Bounty Hunter: Canceled By A&E

Duane “Dog” Chapman will soon return to hunting criminals in relative anonymity.

A&E has canceled the Dog's long-running reality TV show Dog the Bounty Hunter.

The series, which wrapped up its eighth season last week, featured the fugitive recovery agent and his family tracking down criminals in Hawaii and Colorado.

The show got its start following Chapman’s appearance on Take This Job, where viewers got a peek at unusual professions. One of which he certainly has.

Since then, Chapman and A&E have been met controversy more than once. The show was briefly pulled when Dog was caught making racial slurs in 2007.

Chapman and his family also recently received a series of death threats, which the FBI is investigating. Maybe a lower profile will be best in that regard.

Dog the Bounty Hunter: Targeted With Death Threats

Between his tracking down fugitives and reality TV career, someone really hates the Dog the Bounty Hunter. Badly enough to make him contact the authorities.

An unknown enemy of Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman is making his feelings evident, sending his family many email death threats of late.

The FBI is investigating the threats on Dog's life.

On April 30, a message to Chapman read, "I'm going to murder you. I'm going to come to Hawaii and murder you and your family in cold blood."

"You are next on my list and are the bane of society. I will deliver you to God."

Days later, another email was sent, and it's even worse. Read it post-jump:

Dog Chapman Involved in Screaming Match, Racial Confrontation at Bar

A near-brawl erupted between Duane Chapman, a.k.a. Dog the Bounty Hunter, and a bar owner in Colorado, and the altercation was racially charged.

After the other guy allegedly called Dog a "half-breed," Chapman can be heard screaming, "Come on white boy, come on motherf**ker!" It was ugly.

It all went down Thursday in Breckenridge, Colo., when Dog's team stormed into a bar looking for the owner's father. See TMZ's footage below ...

The guy Duane & Co. were looking for allegedly jumped bail on breaking and entering charges, and was being pursued by Dog for his reality show.

Upon meeting resistance, one of Dog's associates says, "I'm not a superstar ... I can f*%k you up and not get charged." Then a brawl broke out.

Dog lost his cool and lashed out, brandishing his stun gun. A plant was thrown, some racial epithets were exchanged ... it looks pretty chaotic.

Eventually Dog left, and no one was shocked ... in the literal sense.

Monique Shinnery Files Suit Against Dog Chapman

The bark of Dog Chapman continues to bite back at this reality TV star.

The woman whose relationship with the son of Duane "Dog" Chapman led him to go off on his infamous N-word-laced rant against her is planning to growl back with a lawsuit of her own, according to the National Enquirer and TMZ.

Monique Shinnery, against whom Dog used the racial epithet several times during his taped tirade, tells the entertainment news outlet that she's going to sue for slander.

"I want justice," she said. "He has slandered me, stated that I have bad character and repeatedly lied about me on national television."

Chapman has said on his recent apology tour that he apologized to Shinnery, but her lawyer claims that Dog reached out through his attorny, not personally.

We wonder what Michael Richards would say about all this.
