She's already rounded third and headed for home with Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, but Kate Hudson won't get any hugs in the dugout from Minka Kelly.

The Friday Night Lights star is the girlfriend of New York's captain - and perceived A-Rod rival - Derek Jeter. And Minka doesn't like A-Rod's new play thing!

At home games, relations between the two actresses are said to be colder than fan reactions to those $2,000 seats at the new Yankee Stadium.

"There's been visible coldness between Minka and Kate," an insider told the New York Post. "I don't know if it's a personal thing, or just an extension of the ongoing A-Rod-Derek Jeter rivalry. But people are choosing sides."

Forget Red Sox-Yankees. This rivalry on the periphery the team with baseball's best record is far more interesting than your average MLB rumors.

According to New York media sources, Minka Kelly has been dating Jeter since last year, although you'd scarcely know it. She prefers to cheer him on from his private seats and keeps a low profile, rarely being photographed with him.

Then Kate Hudson burst on the scene.

She's been snapped kissing Alex Rodriguez in the stands, and recently switched from sitting in a private box to hanging out in the family seats, cheering on the team with Yankees wives such as Amber Sabathia and Karen Burnett.

Hudson, who also enthusiastically attended the Bombers' family picnic, seems to have gotten an early thumbs-up from veteran Yankee spouses Michelle Damon and Laura Posada, whose stamp of approval is crucial, a Post source said.

Reps for Hudson and Kelly didn't respond to requests for comment, but we are holding out hope for a public war of words, and/or a cat fight in the stands.

Missing the playoffs has its benefits.

For Alex Rodriguez, it means more time to woo Madonna... and get together with ex-wife Cynthia Rodriguez and their kids, looking petrified all the way.

His Yankees teammate Derek Jeter, meanwhile, also has some time on his hands to spend romantically – with Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly!

The two have been a rumored couple for months, and there is now no doubt as they were spotted cozying up together in Austin, Texas, last week.

The twosome looked "together and happy," says one onlooker.

Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly also attended the University of Texas football game on Saturday night in Austin, where Friday Night Lights is filmed.

The (extremely good looking) couple also hung out with lying, steroid-using baseball legend Roger Clemens for some reason. Nobody's perfect.

We're thankful that Dwyane Wade isn't really dating Star Jones, as had been previously rumored.

And we're impressed that the Miami Heat guard has reportedly moved in with actress Gabrielle Union. She's beautiful.

Union, of course, is one of Derek Jeter's many, many gorgeous ex-girlfriends. Dwyane Wade had better break it off with his new gal pal soon if he wishes to pick off every former mate of the Yankees shortstop while he still has his looks and his talent.

Initially spotted getting cozy with one another at Hollywood hot spot, Hyde, Biel and Jeter took their romance to Sin City over the weekend. Indeed, Mario Lopez and Britney Spears were not the only ones possibly getting jiggy with each other in Vegas.

At Wynn Las Vegas's Tryst nightclub Saturday night, Jessica and Derek snuck kisses at the VIP table they shared with Jeter's New York Yankees teammates Alex Rodriguez and Jason Giambi.

The next evening, Jeter, 32, and Biel, 24, played blackjack at Palms Casino Resort's Mint Lounge before dinner with two friends at the Palms' Nine restaurant.

They capped off the night with Biel doing everything she could to prove she really is a better date then Eva Longoria; in this case, grinding it up with Jeter at Hard Rock's Body English nightclub.

A random person at the club said the duo were "very lovey dovey," yet had no explanation for how Jeter lost the MVP vote this year to Justin Morneau. As a Yankees fan, this Hollywood Gossip staffer doesn't wanna see anything happen to Jeter's heart.
