Dennis Rodman is very sorry... for being a total nut job.

The former rebounding champion FLIPPED OUT during an interview with CNN this week, ranting like a manic when asked about his trip to North Korea and his presence at Kim Jong Un's 31st birthday party yesterday.

Now, through his publicist and via an email to The Associated Press, Rodman says:

“I want to apologize. I take full responsibility for my actions. It had been a very stressful day. Some of my teammates were leaving because of pressure from their families and business associates. My dreams of basketball diplomacy was quickly falling apart.

"I had been drinking. It’s not an excuse but by the time the interview happened I was upset. I was overwhelmed. It’s not an excuse, it’s just the truth.”

Rodman has been specifically slammed for not using his friendship with the North Korean dictator to help free Kenneth Bae, the ailing missionary who was convicted of "anti state" crimes last year.

Yesterday, during an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo, Dennis Rodman flipped out over questions regarding his latest trip to North Korea.

The ex-basketball star came across like he was cutting a promo for the WWE in defending his visit to Pyongyang for Kim Jong Un's 31st birthday today.

Now, however, Rodman is the one on the receiving end of someone else's venom. And rightfully so, many would argue.

The question that set Rodman off was about Kenneth Bae, an American sentenced to 15 years in a labor camp by the North Korean government because he allegedly committed "hostile acts" while running a tour operation in that country.

Those acts have never been explained and Bae's imprisonment is considered a prime example of the human rights violations enacted on a constant basis by Kim Jong Un and company.

Dennis Rodman went positively ballistic today during an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo.

While surrounded with several former NBA players, Rodman defended his trips to North Korea as a "great idea for the world."

But should the group, who is due to play in a basketball game tomorrow in honor of Kim Jong Un's 31st birthday, really be in Pyongyang? Is this a good idea, considering North Korea's human rights record?

Cuomo also asked Rodman a serious question about Kenneth Bae, an American citizen who was arrested in November 2012, convicted last spring by North Korea of unexplained "hostile acts" and sentenced to 15 years in a labor camp… only for Rodman to FLIP OUT.

He sounds like Hulk Hogan giving a wrestling promo in the following video. You must watch it now:

Then again... really, CNN?!? Why are you giving this man any kind of political platform?

Dennis Rodman returned from his second trip to North Korea and promptly revealed the name of dicator and friend Kim Jong Un's baby daughter.

The NBA Hall of Famer told The Guardian (UK) about a "relaxing time by the sea" spent with Kim and his family. And he also let slip the baby's name.

Speculation sprang up last year that Kim might be a dad after a photo showed his wife wearing a long coat that could have been hiding a bump.

North Korean authorities kept quiet about the matter, although Rodman confirmed Kim had a baby girl. Now after his return visit, he's got the name.

The flamboyant Rodman said, "I held their baby Ju Ae and spoke with Ms. Ri as well," referring to his wife and calling Kim Jong Un "a good dad."

Dennis Rodman is back in North Korea. The NBA Hall of Famer is making a second trip to the rogue nation helmed by his "friend for life" Kim Jong Un.

The purpose of The Worm's return is somewhat unclear, but he says he will NOT try to negotiate the release of an American held by Kim's regime since 2012.

"I'm not going to North Korea to discuss freeing Kenneth Bae," Rodman told media in Beijing. "I'm just going there on another basketball diplomacy tour."

"I just want to meet my friend Kim, the marshal, and start a basketball league. I have not been promised anything. I am just going there as a friendly gesture."

"I'm just going over there to have a good time and try to bridge the gap."

NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman is going back to North Korea this summer, in part because President Barack Obama can't do jack about the situation.

At least as far as the eccentric ballplayer's worldview sees it.

Rodman, who famously bonded with "friend for life" Kim Jong-Un earlier this year, says he will do all that he can to free U.S. citizen Kenneth Bae.

Bae was sentenced to 15 years hard labor for allegedly plotting to overthrow the North Korean government, a wrong The Worm hopes he can right.

"I'm gonna try and get the guy out," Rodman lamented. "It's gonna be difficult. We got a black president [who] can't even go talk to [Kim Jong-Un]."

"Obama can't do $h!t, I don't know why he won't go talk to him."

Dennis Rodman is returning to Pyongyang this summer.

At a charity gala at the Fontainebleu Hotel in Miami Beach, he told the Miami Herald of his plans to return to North Korea and see BFF Kim Jong Un again.

"I'm going back August 1," he said. "We have no plans really, as far as what we're going to be doing over there, but we'll just hang and have some fun!"

Somewhere, Kim Jong Un is threatening to nuke Trump Tower.

Dennis Rodman got fired on All-Star Celebrity Apprentice last night, even though Trump was the big story ... Melania Trump, that is. She is very beautiful.

So we were told, a lot. And it's certainly true.

The celebrities (term used loosely) were tasked with coming up with a presentation for Melania Caviar Complexe C6, her unfortunately titled skin care line.

Dennis Rodman got the chop because, as Project Manager, he spelled Melania’s name as “Milania” on his team's ad. That's like an automatic pink skip.

As the College of Cardinals decides on who will be the next Pope, one layman is determined to meet His Holiness and chart a global course for peace and prosperity.

Fresh off his "basketball diplomacy" trip to North Korea, NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman is en route to Vatican City with hopes of meeting the new pontiff.

NBA Hall of Fame member and longtime oddball Dennis Rodman.

North Korean strongman and baby-faced charmer Kim Jong-Un.

The unlikely pair, who hit it off in the DPRK last week, make one hell of a team - in the classic '90s video game NBA Jam, according to this hilarious video.

Look at Kim destroy his evil, capitalistic foes! HE'S ON FIRE!!!

Not surprisingly, the hometown "North Korea All Stars" absolutely annihilate the visiting "Pathetic Americans" ... with Kim doing most of the damage.

Rodman was never a big scorer, after all.
