Demi Lovato showed fans in Peru a very different side of herself last night.

No, not the side without makeup. All Twitter followers were treated to that glimpse a few days ago.

Instead, went all hip hop on these South American attendees, briefly covering the Kanye West/Jay-Z track "Niggas in Paris" off their collaborative album, "Watch the Throne." Even Demi couldn't take herself totally seriously while spewing out the rhymes, but she performed the track better than we could have!

No more music video teases from Demi Lovato. The young superstar has come out with the real, full thing.

The 19-year is actually make-up free in the following video for "Give Your Heart a Break," which is a track included on her hit album, "Unbroken." How come?

"I want to put it out there and show that women can be independent on their own," she tells E! News, which debuted the video. "I think that's the best lesson that I've learned - to love myself before any other person."

American Idol delivered bad news to Shannon Magrane last night, as this 16-year old from Tampa was the latest season 11 contestant to get the boot. She will not be heading out on tour this summer with fellow finalists.

But the Fox smash had good news for all Demi Lovato lovers: this young artist performed on the latest results show!

Demi Lovato let the world in on her personal struggles last night, as MTV aired Stay Strong, a special dedicated to this singer's tumultuous last year.

"I cannot tell you that I have not thrown up since treatment. I cannot tell you that I have not cut myself since treatment. I'm not perfect," she admitted, adding: "If you took away music, I wouldn't have a reason to live."

We adore Demi Lovato. That must be stated up front.

She's our readers' choice for Celebrity of 2011, after all, and we're thrilled she took home one of the biggest People's Choice Awards last night, Favorite Pop Artist.

But the young star's performance of "Give Your Heart a Break" simply wasn't her finest moment, from the wild hair extensions to the mullet-like dress to the notes that simply weren't carried very well. Hey, we all have off nights.

Demi Lovato pulled double duty for MTV last night.

The artist, who had one of the best years of any celebrity, according to THG readers, hosted that network's New Year's Eve celebration alongside Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey. She also performed her latest single, "Give Your Heart A Break," in front of a raucous crowd. Watch and listen below:

Lovato joined a slew of other singers across the country last night, all of whom helped ring in 2012 on stages situated in Hollywood, Las Vegas and New York City.

Nicki Minaj, for example, danced around to the hit "Turn Me On" as part of Dick Clark's Rockin New Year's Rockin' Eve special.

Demi Lovato is currently battling it out with Miley Cyrus in the finals of the first-ever Tournament of THG, as each young star hopes to be named the readers' favorite celebrity of 2011.

But the singer has still found time to release a special lyrics-based video for her next single, "Give Your Heart a Break." Consider it a pre-video for the official music video, which comes out next week. She's been making the media round - The Tonight Show, Good Morning America - and playing "Skyscraper" for millions of viewers, but Demi Lovato is already plotting her next radio release.

It will be a dance track titled "Who's That Boy," which features Dev and included the lyrics: "I've been staring at ya/ And I could do it all night/ You're looking like an angel/ With the kind of body that needs a spotlight."

Lovato released "Unbroken" on Tuesday and tells MTV of the album:

"I think it's grown-up, but it's not too grown-up. It's not tasteless. It's growing up with my fans. It's [like] I'm not a kid anymore, but I'm also not a full-grown woman either. So I'm in that in-between stage, trying to figure out where that is. So I'm figuring it out, just like my fans are."

Demi is working on the music video for "Who's That Boy" as we type.

So said Demi Lovato to Robin Roberts today during an interview on Good Morning America, as the young singer stopped by to promote her new album, which comes out at midnight tomorrow and which features the R&B track "Up All Night."
